  1. yeah the one i was looking at was carb. i thought somthing was odd about that. but there was alot of other crap wrong with it than that. they said they took out the F/I motor and put in the carb motor? anyway, sounds like you stumbled across a nice car, goodluck.

    Boost Level

turn it up to 25 and see what happens
  3. your talking to the right man then they do make full kit's for n/a eclipse's. Since you said his motor was already built i take it it's built to withstand boost, he could just drop a few grand on a kit and have a nice car. BUT Chad brings up a few good points, fuel and boost and the two biggest to worry about. Remember that engine wasn't built with boost in mind. why doesn't your friend post?

    new car

Sound like a good deal, especially since brakes are easy to do. gonna sell it?
  5. Those are nice cars, how much is he selling it for. i ran across one about a year ago for like 1000 but it was in need of some repair. Does anyone know if those were all carb. cars or fuel injected?

bright orange manifold's are cool though.
  7. True, but your missing the point. The point being approx. 50,000 people were cheated out of their vote regardless. i have two older brothers, we obviously share the same last name. If they get thrown into prison, does this mean MY vote shouldn't count? http://www.gregpalast.com/detail.cfm?artid=29&row=1

i take it you have an auto. have you swapped the ECU? i've heard that's considered an 'upgrade' for our cars. i would agree your first obstical would be the Fuel Pump to run higher boost. but with that type of setup whats stopping you from dropping another 200bucks for a 255lph FP? 91's had big rods if im not mistaken and that bottom end could handle upwards of 25 psi with the right fuel delivery and some tuning. I still consider myself a newb so if a senior dsm'er would like to chime in now would be a great time smile.gif btw you could run 17psi on a 14b turbo with 550's and a 190lph FP.
  9. Warehouse i work at is starting out at 10.50/hour. up to 12/hour when you qualify and go fulltime. It's physical, if your a fatty you won't be for very long at this job pm me if your interested i've got hookups.
  10. Stubbled across this, seems like another "bush bash". im not sure how much of it is fact though it does seem very interesting, and i like the way they chose to put their point across. enjoy. http://www.ericblumrich.com/gta.html -ryan
  11. i know that if you get a ticket in florida Ohio doesn't "recognize" it. It has something to do with the way laws are set up down their vs. here. a friend of mine had like 7 speeding/racing tickets when he was in the coast guard down there, came up here and checked and his record is clean. btw his dad is a state trooper so he's definite, his ohio record is clean.
  12. i stand corrected. the information i got was from the Feb issue of motor trend, and i did misunderstand what they were saying. The grille mounted foglamps will be an option on v8 models while they are a No-Show on v6 models.
  13. Their only gonna put the foglights in front of the grille on the cobra models...just an fyi. i think all in all it will come out nicely, i like the hood scoop, is that a bat thing?
  14. back on topic... BMW is coming out with a 1 and 2 series within the next few years. they will be entry level cars, the 1 will be hatch only and europe only. while the 2 series will come to the U.S. in coupe, softtop and M version's. late 05-06 is the release date. they look nice, kind of like a fatter bmw Z3. check the latest issue of automobile to see pic's smile.gif
  15. i would find out the weight of the 2jz compared to the rotary in the FD. i think one of your biggest concerns in putting anything other than a rotary in an FD should be weight/ weight distribution. There are plenty of great 4cyl. platforms out there that would fit into an FD. BUt i always remembered mazda boasting on how "light" their rotary is compared to the competition's traditional int. comb. engines. BUT SP engineering did put a 2jz engine into an rx-7 (the supra7) a while back, really nice car. Do you plan on road racing, or just drag racing the car?
  16. Not meaning to chime in unwelcomed or anything. But have you considered anything other than a rotory and/or v8 swap? possibly a 4g63 swap? you'd need the transmission from a starion and the read end as well, true some custom fabrication would be needed but anymore than a v8 swap? plus the 4g63 would have to be lighter than a v8, although i don't know the weight im just assuming. i looked into it and asked a friend who knew more than me about it, but it's way out of my league right now. plus side: lighter (<not definite) just as powerful w/ the right mods and you wouldn't be like everyone else. smile.gif just a thought, although i have seen an rx7 w/ an sr20 swap, march 04 modified mag.
  17. ok, having a slight prob. with a daily driver. It's over heating (or appears to be gauge is pegged out) even though there is more than enough coolant in it. we are guessing it is the thermostat that is either malfunctioning and/or stuck closed (<this sometimes happens with dsm's). My question, is it possible that the temp. GAUGE is broken, sensor, or thermostat itself. If anyone has any online manuals, forums, sites, or knows themselves your help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance guys. -ryan vehicle= '00, contour SE, 2.0liter 4banger
