Mesh/textile is cheap, but doesn't hold up if/when you go down. Leather is the answer if you'd like to save your skin.

Kentucky is where to ride, take 275 to the south-south-east part of the loop, just south of NKU and the river, exit onto the "AA" highway 9. Sundays you'll find people meeting from 0800-1200 at the shell on the right side of the AA highway, all sorts of riders/bikers. Head south on AA, and almost any side road will be good. We used to take 27 to Alexandria and 10 south to Willow. Then if you want to head back west toward Falmouth on 22, then 27 north back to NKY. 10/22 are a lot like SE Ohio roads, nice and curvy, but not maintained the best, but the last time I rode down there was 2005. if your down and not too tired, we could meet at Iron Pony. I was thinking of heading southeast toward hocking hills. I went to school at OU and havn't been back to ride the roads since 2005.

I have not had a good ride all year due to other obligations. I was hoping to get out somewhat early (8-9ish) tomorrow, Sunday, and ride if anyone was interested.

I took the ERC a few years ago and suggest it to anyone. I had been riding for 4 years at the time and still learned a lot about manuvering at slow speeds.

That same shit has happened to me and some friends before while riding in NKY last summer. Some asshole in a minivan kept speeding up/slamming his brakes and swerving trying to hit us as we politely tried to pass on a straight-a-way. Fuckin people!

As for gas mileage, it all depends on how you ride. With big v-twin engines, if it's like my RC51, they like to suck down the gas. I get between 25-35 mpg, all depending on how I ride.

I've had problems at a lot of different places. A lot of mall security doens't like motorcycles parking in the lined areas and will say they'll call the police. When I worked at a resturant in college they didn't like me parking on the sidewalk, even though it was totally out of the way of everything, and it was a blacktop parking lot, so I had to grab a beer can for the side stand. Some places will bother you about it, some won't.
