  1. has anyone here met a rich person that was not crooked or had everything handed to them?

Does anyone on this board know a rich person that actually fills out their tax forms correctly and correctly states their income?

Is there anyone on this board rich?

did anyone hear Greenspan's testimony and the flaw of his economic model? he said that the flaw in his model is that businesses and the wealthy don't have ethic's.

  2. Formaldehyde - that's flammable too, I'm seeing a pattern here.

Zorro, thanks for the tip. I wonder if exhaust heat that's just vented to the atmosphere may be recovered and help in the process?

since more than 60% percent of the energy from the combustion process is lost in the form of heat I think that would be a good place to start. Maybe some sort of exhaust gas powered air pump. You could call it a turbocharger, shit they already have that. Maybe you could use the wasted heat to create steam and turn a small steam engine connected to the engine via a belt on the pulley, of course bmw owns alot of the patents for those devices. How about a six stroke engine like crower (the world famous camshaft maker) created and sold the patent. Maybe a solid state alternator could be used to help relieve parasitic losses from the engine, damn I think toyota is sitting on that patent.

Well it seems like all of the really good ideas have been bought by major companies and put on the shelf.

  3. JRMMii, you are missing smething. Btw, the gas issue is not the point of my post.. it is the war that we are paying for. But, to elaborate on the gas issue. Blaming the investers only works if you have a fixed supply. the oil companies have a variable supply. with relatively little cost to them, they could increase production. the cost of an additional gallon of oil is not that expensive. the companies can manipulate their "supply" in order to drive demand. its called Supply Side Economics. The investors do play a role, however. their purchasing and selling of oil futures sends the oil producers information that those companies use to determine how much to produce.

Maybe just maybe there is a finite supply of oil and they "opec" countries are trying to "ration" out what they have so that they dont run out before they expect to.

  4. Part of the problem is that through vaccines, anti-bacterials, medicines and constant cleaning humans aren't as capable of fighting off a lot of forms of diseases and what not as we should. A lot of the things we take for granted are actually making humans in general weaker. As this becomes part of our daily lives our bodies adjust as if they no longer need to have the ability to handle those sorts of things on their own. Even doing something such as using deodorant will cause your body to stop behaving as it should especially if you use it regularly starting when your younger.

My ole lady works at a hospital and I think she gets sick a bit less often now, but if/when the flu happens I will definately be okay, and so will some of my friends.;) I happen to have a very good in with some of the pandemic people.
