As for hurting the bike you'll be fine. Modern fuel injected bikes run a closed loop system using an O2 sensor to maintain the proper A/F ratio......to a point. The engine will spin up a bit quicker thus giving you a little more HP plus you get that nice throaty sound. But, if you really want the best exhaust sound you should just sell the CBR and buy a Ducati:D

I think I'd wait a year or two so the hype dies down, and if their's any bugs they would have been worked out by then. IMHO Never buy a launch year vehicle.

Come ride with us sometime. There's no set pace and we stop at turn offs or every few miles to allow all to catch up.

ahhh slipper clutch...I don't have one. Try blipping the throttle, if you don't already...and if you do, crack it a little harder! I love engine breaking, not sure how well that works on a liter bike tho. I'd imagine you would need more break?!

A blip down to 2nd on a V-Twin has a lot of engine braking. I usually only clutch mid-corner and that's when I have too.
