  1. If a person is asking how to improve their corner speed and cornering ability then yes they are looking to go to the track. They may not know that because they have no experience with it but thats what it is. As far as affording the track goes, you can pick up boots, leathers, ang gloves fairly cheap. as in boots for under $100, Gloves for $20 and yo could get a used suit for $100. All of these deals can be found if you look for them. If your out hitting the twisties trying to improve, you should be wearing this gear anyway. Your first crash on street twisties is more then likely going to cost you way more then buying all of the gear and the cost of a track day combined. And actually, YES it is the answer to "evolution" as you can only learn so much on the street and to "evolve" more then that, you need to hit the track.
  2. He could also put a .95 in one fork and a 1.0 in the other and that will give him .975 which is as close to .973 he is going to get.
  3. I have to agree.. Setting the sag first is the most important and then the rebound and compression are used to adjust for more handling specific issues. To be honest, the springs on that RR are probably way to light for someone that weights 245. I doubt he will be able to get anywhere near the recommended settings with those springs in the forks and shock.. He will be able to make it better but really should consider sending his stuff to Reuben at 35Mostorports for a simple spring rate swap on the forks and shock.
  4. Get it just in case. Its always a fiasco trying to find one at the track.. So Get Cory's
  5. GO TO THE TRACK.. PLAIN AND SIMPLE.. Mods.. lock er up.
  6. Quads and wrecking them during a hill climb are bad news for both the quad and rider.. Bikes are way more forgiving when it comes to crashing during a hill climb.
  7. Brian,, Can you check and see that you or someone in the STT staff has a beacon so we dont have to try and figure it out during the riders meeting. Just a thought.
  8. Zombies.... And so it begins.
  9. But it takes me awhile to get all pretty for you.
  10. Looks like this is going to be a good day... I will be driving this truck minus the trailer and all these bikes. and this is my bike so look for us. Also, look for the iron pony tent. My bike.
  11. Is it worth riding to you to risk not getting a job because of how you look? (wrinkled shirt, messed up hair, etc) Answer that question for yourself.
  12. On track at 5.. Whats is that all about.. Thought this was an LED from 330-830 like Mid Ohio's page stated. Kawipilot. You can look for my Black 4 door tacoma or I believe APCH8r will have the Iron Pony tent set up where we will be. His bike is in his sig. I will be brining my genny for power just in case so if hot pit is a no go, you can always find us and share power. Even if we can get into hot pit at 445, that doesnt leave any time to actually unload and setup so we will be in the normal pit area somewhere.
  13. Post pics of the helmets you got sword guy.

Props to you for the vaca combining on the company dime.
  15. yeah Im not happy about missing it but I did finish up my track bike yesterday and signed up for the LED at Mid O, this thursday.
  16. Me, Nick, Justin, and Kyle are all going to be there riding with Bill taking pics. I will also have my onboard cam on my bike so anyone that wants some vids of them selves around the track should be able to get some. I will be bringing my generator which will power 4-6 sets of tirewarmers since rumor has it we wont be able to get onto hot pit for power and the cars will have the garages. We are planning on meeting in the morning and hopefully being up there by 12:30 so that we can unload, setup, and relax for a bit before everything starts .
  17. Not anymore.. I used to be and still have mine but havent run it in years.
  18. No offense but this is one of the dumbest things I have ever heard.... These bikes are designed to be raced... not stunted.. We are not talking about riding wheelies for days, we are talking about the occasional wheelie.
  19. Out of the 5 people in my group that were planning on going, we are now down to 2 so Im not sure if its going to happen or not anymore... Damn weather. If you check weather.com in the link I posted, its actually showing thunderstorms from 6am on.
  20. Look.. these bikes are stunted frequently by people that are rocking wheelies for days on end without much issue. The occasional wheelie here and there isnot going to hurt your motor period....
  21. The Tennis elbow may be your fault but her bad knees and lockjaw problem were probably caused by this guy.
  22. No shit? your wifey does it for me too.
