I wouldn't get a 650. you stated you didn't want to make a mistake....so don't buy this. You have 2 or 3 toys for the street...keep those nice bikes. you can find a good pure track bike for 3-4k. I was kinda stupid thinking i'd wanna ride my 600 on the street. At first I did. But I haven't been on the street with it since late May. It's prepped for track and i'm not touching it if I'm doing a track day every 3 to 4 weeks. It only takes 30 mins to prep it...but still. Plus, if you get your suspension set up for the track (at some track days there's someone there to do it for a fee) you wont wanna ride it on the bumpy streets. I took mine thru my 'hood yesterday and the suspension sucks on the slowest of streets. Buy a pure track bike. I'd suggest the newer R6 model, a newer gsxr 750, or kawi 636.

Look on wera and buy a pure track bike...you got two/three toys already. Pure track would be perfect for you. As for what...not sure. i guess the best deal you can find to scratch that itch.

This is good to know. I peeked at my speedo a few times and I was only at 81-82mph out of turn 1. I'll have to try to increase my speed there next time. I kept thinking I could take it faster...but once I saw I had the exit line, I'd peek, and it be at 81...then 82...every damn time.

My left index finger started going numb in the afternoon. I thought it was just temporary. However, as I type, my finger tip and the inside is still numb. I don't get it.

Thanks...I passed a few yesterday..especially the ducati riders.. The liter bikes ate me up at the end of the back straight. I carry second thru the carosel, and hit 3rd around the finish line and then back down to 2nd for turn 1. I'm curious what the new pattern will be after I gear it with a -1 in the front.

I'm worried about gearing it too much to where I'm out of engine at the end of the back straight at mid ohio. Thoughts?

Thanks! When you changed your front...or when someone helped you...did you need an impact wrench? I was looking at mine tonight. I know I need to buy a socket...I don't have the size. I'm hoping I can just muscle it off. As for the carousel, the was the toughest turn for me my first day. I kept trying to stay close to the inside the entire time...wasn't working. Instructor showed me the way. On the keyhole...you can get away with that for the most part.

I'm glad you had a good time...hopefully everyone returned safely. I don't know how you did two days worth. I was beat after one and my legs are still a little on the rubber side today. As for gearing...thanks for the tip. My bike is stock gearing and I'm looking to do something...prolly just -1 in the front...and that's it. Another option for the jerkiness...shift up a gear to reduce the rpms. Just a thought. Thanks for the linky.

R6 is a better performer with updated looks. As for the differences...they're endless.

Yeah...this was the one. Caught a glimpse of the bike on the way out...real fug'ed up. Track day was a blast....weather was perfect. Weathermen...least accountable people in the world.
