  1. If I try to get a 4inch pipe past the oil pan, I will not be able to put a flat front splitter on the car. an Open DP gets a ton of fumes in the car, and is loud from the sound bouncing off the ground. Almost amplifies it. Odd as it sounds a bumper exit is quieter
  2. Its a bagillion dollars. Thats wayyy to much work than I have time for. I still have to Fab new tube front end. Fab new turbo system hot and cold sides Create/pumb/wire launch control Install/pumb hand brake Service all brakes and ball joints Fabricate full cage Fab front bumper to work with larger IC Find solutions for batterey mounting and some sketch wiring. All by April. All working maybe 1-2 nights a week. Maybe
  3. Ha! Yes a simple cage will be in the car once its running and sorted. I feel you there, I'm almost out of my 9 lives! I feel you on the hood exit. As for oval tube, its REALLY expensive and still mathematically more restrictive than the same circle pipe. To put the budget in perspective, the 4inch bend from summit is literally the first new thing I purchased for the car besides fuel and oil LOL I had side exits in the pas and they are LOUD. Louder than side exits it seems. Not sure how that is possible....but thats been my experience. Oddly enough, your not the first person to say this. I would have expected more fumes in the car.
  4. **Colt Content** So my previous turbo set up sold-and I have a blank slate now to work with. I'm going back to the roots of V1, and putting a big o'l GT42 back on the car. With work, kids, and the Vr4 the car got driven pretty minimally on the street last year. I do plan on a few more local shows and "events" than last year-but we can call it what it is- at this point in my life this thing is a race car. SO-Im not to concerned about making a full exhaust- especially not in 4 inch! Also with my goals moving towards land speed stuff, the car may get a partial or full belly pan at some point soon, so a lack of stuff under the car is a plus. Options- side exit (bumper) on the drivers side (turbo orientation prevents pass side exit). Pros-a little less noticeable to the fuzz. Quieter than open DP Cons-Fumes?? Or- up and out the hood- center-pointing towards the pass side. Pros-Quieter than open DP Less chance of fumes in the car??? Cons-Cant ask any harder to get pulled over I'd prefer to have the least amount of fums int he car is I do street driving, especially cruising at highways speeds. Love to hear what CR would do here?
  5. The rear "steam" tube is easy to get to tho. I sealed mine with honda bond :dumb: either way its likely an easy/cheap fix.
  6. I'll admit they are AWESOME cars. Great engines- and when modified, likely the best transmission on the planet. Also you can THROW, and I mean throw the thing intot turn 4 at Mid Ohio in a fashion that would have nay other car buried in China Beach, and it just "figures it out". There absolutely is a place for that. But a "safeties off" car with a true manual is just so much more enjoyable. A good example was my old CTS-V. I powersid' that car at minimum 3 times on the way to and from work every day. And I mean, EVERY day. Put a smile on my face every time. You just can't Hoon' in a GTR
  7. I've driven 8 sec. GTRs that your grandma can literally make an 8 second pass in. The Technology is great. The easy and repeatability are nuts. The visceral experience is severely lacking. The Sketch factor was negative 7. If you want a video game car, play a video game. If you want to have a real experience when your driving your internal combustion vehicle- keep the man pedal.
  8. Option one, and make sure the DD is good for Salt. If you using the truck as a truck should be used- you want something you can beat up and not feel bad about it IMO
  9. Push lock and the right line can take ANYTHING. Seriously As far as AN lines, if you have a Vice, you can make them yourself. Very Easy. I'd really recommend the fiber braided hose over the stainless
  10. Variable timing Variable fuel(duh) Variable nozzle turbo Variable compression. Hey at least its not complicated! Anyone know if it uses traditional shell bearings or roller bearings?
  11. That's the point. A Credit Card ain't yo' money, its credit extended from a bank. Unless they don't allow wire transfers which is not likely- a true debit card is essentially a non issue
  12. Looks like my buy order at 99 will be hitting soon LOL
  13. Props. Great "fun" DD. Does any helljunk crap bolt onto it?
  14. Ive raced SCCA and did one Lemons Event. Would love to do another. I think an NA 4G63 car would do VERY well in it and I have a guy that has a TON of good chassis since he uses them for his Dirt track stuff. Aaron/Craig can you conference me into your meeting?
  15. If you guys get a chance to go to one race at that level, even SCCA runoffs, and get to spend days in the pits, after hours dinners, ECT with the guys racing at this level, you will see its 100% a money game. Its never who is the best driver, best team, its who has the deepest pockets. After spending times with these guys learning "what" they did to get to their financial position, you are often left scratching your head as to whether they are making it up, or if they are actually involved in a legal enterprise at all. Lots of gray areas in all of finance. There are even people on CR that have become very wealthy "in the gray"

So he either has 200k+ in student loans or #thanksdad for covering the bill. Thats not realistic for most. Military is 200% the way to go here- BUT, military (navy mostly) has stricter guidelines on qualifications to fly. Height/Weight/eyesite...ect.
  17. He wants a Big car, not a Kids car.
  18. IMO- nothing "Fast" is going to get a real world 25+MPH EcoBoost seem to have a ton of issues coming up now that they have been around for a few years. Not sure I'd trust them. I have not once complaint for my 535ix. AWD. 400+whp. For a real DD, the Newer accords are Nice and quick with a V6 Newer Q50 RedSport should be on the list. Super impressed by them on Just a tune and the guys have been around for awhile, and proven reliable. 300 is decent for the price, but itd have to be a V8
  19. Glad Im all out! I do have buy orders for .035 for TRX and Lite at $99. No basis for this, just a general shot in the dark
  20. Whats in the link is all I have at the moment its stored at a buddies place for winter
  21. Ha! Thanks all. Its not perfect, but FUCK good luck finding a better 1 ton in the price range!
