  2. Nelsons is one of those old school tracks you can still die at, quite easily actually.

     

    1:17.2 With less power and stock brakes and Kumho 712's. Not blazing a trail but I dont think it is too terible.

     

     

    Like to see 1:16 next year with my BFG's up front and Hawk Pads. I dont know if the extra 200whp from then will help or aid in a visit to the tire wall.

  4. fast is going it a 180 deg turn at over a 100mph slaming on the brakes 30 yards before the turn and not even a chirp out of the tires while making the turn. thats fast!

     

    my verson of fast changed at deals gap this year in my friends GT3, nothing like going on a road with 318 turns in 11 miles in a porsche GT3!!

  5. The fastest lap ever observed at Mid Ohio was done by a Kart (that didn't conform to any class rules anywhere, I beleive) during a practice lap. Therefore, it's not "official". Ask around next time you're there, find a Lake Erie Comm person who's been there 5-6 years. ;)

  6. Did you come up with this? It's completely rediculous unless you believe a turbo kit, with fuel and ignition, is "one mod" and the ported and blueprinted motor is the other.

     

    Name me 3 production cars, under 50k, that'll run 11's with 2 mods? A shitbox 93 Firebird sure isn't one of them.

     

    Oh wait, if the "one mod" is dropping an LS1 into a Miata, you may be right.

    I'm sure there are some guys wives on here that wouldn't want to drive a stock f-body because it has 'way too much power'.

     

    I don't know if you are married or not, but I'm sure if you were, your wife probably woudln't feel comfortable driving your car. But most on here would consider it a street car.

  8. IMO, a street car is something that is seriously driven on the street, not something that is only trailered but runs DOT tires. Heat/AC don't really matter. At least most of an interior needs to be there. Cage shouldn't have any bearing on a car being a street car or not.

     

    Yes. A street car is not a Supra with Hard block running low 8's on a BFG that just got pulled of the trailer.

     

    You take it to work.

    You race it on the weekends.

     

    Your wife does not mind traveling in it. A street car.

     

    Lets just clear that up so this does not turn into what is a street carvs. race car.

  10. 8.00's or lower in the 1/4 mile. I have been around 4 and 8 Second cars since I was born, and driven the Camaro plenty of times, that going anything slower that 8.00 @160 isn't all that impressive.

     

    The bike keeps me mildly satisfied, it will run 10's all day, and I have fun with it racing other bikes and some of the faster cars in the area.

     

    Street cars? Really.

     

    You were aware this discussion is about street cars right? Trailer queens are a fun as Bukaki soup.

    0-100mph:if your not NA or slower than stock kill yourself

    100-110: respectable 4-6cyl, better have no power adders if your a v8.

    110-120: Quick, will win most of the races you get in to.

    120-130: Fast street car, probably the shit in your area,and have some nutswingers

    130+ : The Elite. Beat bikes, hurt egos, take that money meing. .01% of car

    enthusiest

     

     

    Bikes-Traps slower than 130, its not worth riding, and I dont give a shit how well it

    turns.

  12. All thigs being equal, the 87 oct. will make MORE power than 93 oct, just for the record.

     

    As for modding Saturns, if you can make it happen, more power to you. Speaking of modding 4 bangers-Will it cost you more money than say, a DSM? Yes. As much as a fast Honda (which is rediculous)? Porbably more. WIll it be cool and different? Obviously.

     

    Mustangs, camaros, and Mustangs are as bad as Hondas now adays. No matter what whacky motor, or mod you put in/on it, it will be unoriginal, and done befor, maybe 1000's of times. I would hate to go to a meet, or be online and see 5 poeple with my same freaking car. I can walk up to any of the above said cars and (to a point) know what it will ET. and trap. What is the fun in that? A fucking t-70 fox body is played out now adays!

     

    There will be haters no matter what you choose to do, period. If your motivated, make it happen.

  13. Which is exactly why if anyone was trying to be the pump gas king, they would not choose something like an SCM61. Your definition of fast was 100-110mph on pump gas. A nearly full weight 1g on a stock turbo can do that. A properly setup 16g'd car can go 110-112mph on pump gas with minimal mods.

    And I had a 60-1, which starts to fall on its face @25psi. :)
