  1. Unless you're not planning to be within transmission distance of another person for the next 2 months treating this thing so minimally is pretty selfish and irresponsible. I think it's a similarly poor choice to encourage that mindset.

I hear you. We will see what the next few weeks brings. Like it or hate it, we are HERE now. Everything is canceled. We are under an unprecedented level of required containment.

  2. The outbreak in Italy is isolated to the north, for now. In the US it's already all over the place. The supply shortage is still very real in the US. My coworker's dad is a doctor in a decent sized hospital in Michigan. Yesterday they said they only had 8 hazmat suits and were already running out of masks. I've talked to others who are on statewide calls with health services and they say it's a already a disaster, and this is with only 26 confirmed cases for now.

You (and much of America it seems) is buying into the panic over a bad cold with a name.

  3. This is what was happening in Italy 2 days ago. Yesterday they had an additional 250 deaths. The US is about 11 days behind their infection rate, and this is why the action taken was necessary.

This chart is already several days old though:5dc2bfea569be719914f01e09351efdb.jpg

Fair point, but. Italy (60 million) US (327 million), so the percentages are far, far smaller. Also, 55% of ALL cases in Italy are in ONE city, which is exasperating the issue.

    Hospitals,

70 Main, 30 small or private, total, in Italy

Over 6000 hospitals in the US.

I dont think I need to explain the relevancy here, or a stance on how the US is better equipped to deal with this, and why it would never turn into an "Italy" situation.

But, staying ahead of it is better than flagrant disregard.

  4. Props to Panduh for his FB comment, and heard about the news on NPR this morning....as a weather buff, some crazy videos coming out on the tornadic storm that hit the Nashville area overnight. Check out this guy's Twitter feed:

Crazy you cant even see it.

19 confirmed dead so far. Sad.

  5. Where you finding these clan title c5z for 12k??

They are out there. Ask me how I know. ;)

    you shoulda bought jordan's gtr

Its still a consideration. I personally dont see the Black edition being worth a premium, and I am not convinced the market does either. I always consider resale with this shit.

  6. let me know when you're ready to sell this, i want a silver c5z for the garage

You can drive it home today playa! Just like the c6z, everything has a price :)

JP, I think you're officially a Vette guy, lol. Tough to beat that gen for looks and performance vs price. Congrats.

    lk

c5/c6 really is a performance bargain in general. Really, I think a HIC c6z is the top of that mountain, morso that a Zr1

What happened to the mesh grills? Was it in an accident? It the black roof painted or is it a wrap? How much do these go for?

Yes, has a bump in carfax. The roof is PAINTED! What a savage. I almost think I would prefer it silver at that true coupe roof IMO is what sets this car apart. Clean examples with these miles fetch 16-18k but most boomers are asking well north of 20k

Can't go wrong with a c5z! Very nice! But what's up with those wheels?

IDK, but I like em' :)

Talks a big game about R8s, buys a C5Z... Unsubscribed.

    :marc:

You have the SAME car nerd! LOL.

This is just to scratch the itch for now, and I could not pass up the deal.

This will be car 1 of 2. On the hunt for #2.

At this point, the order of interest has changed. Right now, Im GTR, 911, R8. Several reasons for it, but that's where Im at.

  7. Well, in a odd twist I picked up a car to scratch the itch for a bit. A simply too cheap to pass up c5z, tastefully modded with rare Mod Red interior. This will not likley be the only car that comes from the sale of the c6, but it will def check the fun box for a while.

  8. Did you lose your phone? You know it tells the time too, right?

    Right LOL

My vote is for the gtr. Audi’s, mustangs, bmws, corvettes. They are all common. The car still gets more attention than I’m comfortable with.

I hear you. I had a good convo with a good friend about this. def. had me thinking. Of all the car he has had/has now, the one he will give up last is the GTR. Also, 09-10 GTRs have been 50k for 5 years lol...bot sure they will go any lower really.

If you throw deprecation out of the window, the new Evora are a seriously potent car for the money.

i cant be frivolous though to not consider depreciation.

  9. Gtr—as much as I’ve considered selling this car, nothing I’ve driven is so completely easy to leave cars in the dust, stoplight to stoplight daily driving in any weather. I drive it all year long—run e85 all summer, 93 in the winter. It’s a bottom 10 car on the corn with full bolt ons. I haven’t had to do much maintenance in 30k miles of ownership. It’s a decent daily depending on your commute

S6–add rs7 turbos and you can have a mid 10 second ride with the dsg. My buddy had a heavily modded s6 he drove over 100k miles. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed dailying my rs7

Rs3—weirdly, you can get a brand new leftover ‘19 for bottom $50’s with an original msrp over $65k. These cars have some lag, but can easily make well north of 500whp on the stock turbo. They are light— around 3500lbs and feel about half the size of a Dodge Charger. On e85, you can get well into the 10’s with the stock turbo. Swap in a turbo and beef up the dsg, and this car will go 9’s all day. Not much sounds as unique as the inline 5 screaming wide open. I’m a huge fan of this car, and you just don’t see a ton of them

    Appreciate you insight sir!

  10. 1) Auto-tragic

    2) Felt Big /Heavy

    3) Felt Slow

I also drove it after I drove a McLaren MP4-12C, a prototype NSX, and my own 996TT.

The R8 was my least favorite

Sadly, for this purchase I *may* be ok with all of this. (And if I am not, I will sell, hence why I need the depreciation protection :)) This is more like buying a watch that a car. A Timex Expedition is indestructible and water-resistant down to 100M. Light, fast, looks good, It does everything you would want a watch to do.

A Rolex Datejust is heavy, hard to read, and finicky to adjust. But, when you put that fucker on your wrist, which is more satisfying?

  11. Think different, but my old boss had both and he would always say I get all this performance for little $$$ with the Vette.

True, but I wouldn't be buying this with "performance" as my primary goal. If it was, I would never have sold the Vette!

Are you sure you want an exotic?

No, Im not. Hence this thread. ;)

  12. Aston Martin V8 vantage would also fall into this category as well as an XKR jaguar.

Love the body lines. Hate the maintenance

That R8 is beautiful. Have always liked them myself and use to see one in the summer in our old neighborhood all the time. He had some type of exhaust that made it sound like an AMLS car. Sounded perfect.

The Exhaust on this white one has me sold that the v10 is not mandatory.

I gotta say...R8 all the way.

The big issue for me is a young famiry that really makes a 2-seater unusable. I barely drive 3 of the 6 cars I have anyway and they all have back seats!

    .

I drove my Vette to work pretty much every day in summer, and a few time is a week in winter. Mom works and stays at home, so she does most fo the hauling. And if we need to "divide and conquer" with the kids, I'll take the Bimmer!

R8, 911 turbo, S/SL 63/65 - dont fuck around with all that other shit.

Man, that 2008-9 S63 AMG is about the most BAUCE car you can buy for 15k. WOW.
