  1. I had to do a service on one of these monsters.  the oil change wasn't so bad but the god damn air filter is a nightmare.  having to pull the luggage rack off just to remove the seat and removing so much shit just to get into the bike, that's just assinie.  should have been double the labor price.     anyone ever work on one?  go on youtube and look up how much stuff has to come off to get to it.

I just wanna work on sportbikes damn it lol.

They were pretty helpful we ran it to some confusing issues with the bike since its the first H2 SX SE the tuner has seen. So we were sending lots of messages back and forth to them. I didn't add any extra parts or anything from the "race tools" kit just used their software to de-restrict the bike and change the timing and fueling. The bike has a factory quick shifter and launch control so the only add on they really offer at this point is the pit lane limiter and the warm up mode.

your bike has an autoblipper too?  the r1 just started coming with them.  mine didn't have it. that was one of the many reasons I bought the kit.  plus unlike FTECU you can use the software without internet connection.  FTECU is a pain in the ass with that.

anthony from woolich is the man.  he was helping me at 9pm on a sat.  I didn't necessarily need his help at that time. I was glad to wait till monday.  but he still did it.

  3. thumbs up.  I have woolich racing flash kit on my laptop.   I used their autotune and it made the bike feel very good.  wanted to get on a dyno but the local shop sold it.  damn.  i did have the autoblipper sensor fail.  got a new one under warranty.   a little worried about them now.

also make sure the traction control is off on new bikes with it.  it will back off the power if it thinks the wheel is spinning.

Interesting, I've never heard of these so I did a tad bit of reading. Haven't come across a horror story yet.... :dunno:

Galespeed makes high end brake levers like brembo.  Yamaha sells their stuff on their parts site.  Kind of like gills tooling.  The rims should be high quality

I don't go without drop down tinted visors now. Speed and Strength and Torq last 2. I do mis the quick release (no strap flap) and thick rings are way easier to fidget Hwith than the thin gauge ones. I like scorpion features they don't fit me. Had an agv but there was so little breathing space I felt like i was suffocating.

Can you replace the styrofoam that's against the shell in any helmet? That's what absorbs hits. How does a 5 year old snell helmet measure against it's new self or a new $100 one?

no you can't replace the foam.  but shoei and arai warranty a helmet for 7 years of the build date.  5 from date of purchase.  a rep from arai told a magazine several years ago an arai can be used for 10 years without worry.  I would assume a shoei can too.  along with most high end helmets.   you know why the foam is painted black?  so you can tell if it's been used to absorb an impact.

  6. those are probably custom rims and that looks like a rear tire on the front.  they're never that big.  if this is something you are looking into doing you're not going to find parts ready to install.    guys often have to make their own stuff.   if you can't weld and work with metal, making a custom bike will require you to hire a custom bike builder.

  7. I can't recall what I paid for my RF1200 but I bought it at cycle specialties and it was cheaper than any online retailer offered it.

the one great thing about shoei is, you can replace almost all the parts on/in the helmet.  you can buy a new liner every year if you sweat a lot.    they also have free helmet inspection if you are worried about it's integrity.

I'm at work now. Hard to pass up $34.50/hr and it's only a half day. Also, if I don't work today I'll end up in the weeds next week working 12's to dig myself out. We have a production schedule to keep. Maybe when you and your buddy start your window company you'll see how that works.

Your current employer also has to pay insurance on you, your buddy, your work, their vehicles, etc and they are assuming all the risk in the business and selling the jobs. All you have to do is show up, and I've installed vinyl windows before, $22 is damn good money for how easy that shit is.

Easy lol.  She thought that too and whines about how much work it is. But 2 other guys are doing the work of 4 and the office work.  No need to work sat.  No glass shop works sat.  Her nor her husband can read a tape measure.  Still dont understand what low e coating is.  Still dont know the names of window parts.

  9. No offence to the marlboro man but $12 for construction work is low ball.  He'll never get quality workers.  1. Its too physically demanding for $12.  2. The skills required dont reflect the pay even at entry level.

A guy i know that owns a concrete company were discussing this topic a few weeks ago.  Ive seen craigslist adds for home framing for $12/hr.   he said F that framing houses is harder than concrete work.  U guys ran off all the mexicans that was happy making $12.  Not going to find many non alcoholics or drug addicts for $12

  10. My 5 to 6 year plan is to have my own shop up and running.  The people i work for have no idea what theyre doing.  They were sold a franchise and didnt know 1 thing about windows.  Me and my buddy have ran the place.  All they have is money.  We do it all so why make them all the money and we make $22/hr.  Example i installed $2800 worth of work in 8 hrs yesterday.  I get $176.  The material was $500.  They made $2124 in 8 hrs.  Why the hell am i not doing this for myself.   All i need is a van. A website and money for google ad words or whatever its called now

  11. What is it with so many companies and working sat?  Everywhere i go works a damn sat.  All my buddies are telling to srop whining and take the money bla bla bla.  Why work like a dirty hoe 6 days a week while the pimp gets all the money for your lost life.

Who was right about the pay?

Yep thats over 20 lol.  You guys got screwwwwwd.  That glass is about $100 from the manufacture.  And they paid the installer about $20 to install it.

Hmmm. As someone who literally watched them setup the machine, I know what the hell I am talking about. They don't do on site installation on vehicles that require this. Also, as someone who knows window installers, they clearly make more then minimum wage. But keep thinking whatever you want...

Trust me, you DO NOT know more about windows tha i do. Wink...

Most glass shops pay between 12 and 18/hr.  Which is min wage in most places.  I make over 20 but i have a good boss that pays good installers a better wage.  Those guys you see working for places like safe lite make 12 on average

Lane departure camera behind the windshield means the windshield had to be laser calibrated when installed.

that's code for we are raping you and making excuses.  because that is 100% bullshit. you really think these guys have laser alignment systems in their vans? lol.  not a fucking chance.  they make min wage doing windows.

OEM windshield for my grand cherokee was $750+ for just the windshield plus install. I would have to pay for all of it if i wanted OEM. Needless to say i want aftermarket and insurance paid for all of it. $0 deductible.

harmon auto glass replaced my truck windshield for $225.  ryans glass replaced my brothers pass door  window in his car for $150.   seems like these places you guys call are way over priced.
