  1. go pro knock offs can loop video.  at least the Eken h9r can.  I got one at microcenter for $39 before christmas.  comes with 2 batteries which is cool and has a remote you put on your wrist to control it. has built in wifi to stream to your phone.  according to all the accessories makers on amazon it can use all the gopro mounts.

not a bad camera if you can find one under $60 .  it comes with a ton of mounting hardware and a dual battery charger

can't charge while in use though.  so I guess this isn't an option for you.

  2. check for any hot wiring too.  or throw a multimeter on it to read the resistance (ohms).  they should have close to 0.  older R6's would melt the connectors at the regulator.    I've seen guys relocate their regulators to a place that gets more airflow.  some I've seen put fans from computers on the. lol  it worked.  probably not in the rain though.

knock on wood I've never had these issues.  my 03 R6 battery lasted 10 years.  no shit.  never put it on a tender or charger.  but I had to buy one for my R1. it has a parasitic power draw and the battery is half the size they were in my R6.  so I zap it up every few weeks.

  3. for the record, I don't use their password manager.  I use last pass.  want to use dashlane but they're not interested in making one for linux.  I use linux on my desktop for 99.9% of everything.  windows 10 on the laptop I use to flash my bike etc.  and only that.  since I seen that people should steer clear of lenovo computers because of spyware crap in them.   some install from the bios into a fresh install of windows.   I was going to toss this brand new fucker in the trash when I read this.

My first year Duke 690 still runs flawlessly and has zero issues. Not worried a bit. KTM does their homework

Yeah well yamaha has built bikes for a long time and still rushed the R1 into production.  Trans recall, cranks snapping, valve springs breaking, timing chain rubs engine block and a few other issues.   Ironically my 03 r6 was flawless

  6. The eastwood welders seem nice.  They have a lot of videos on youtube showcasing their welders and using them in how to's.  If I could get a miller for the same price or slightly more id get the miller.  Btw, i love millers welding shirt with the leather arms.  And their gloves.  They fit so good it improved my welding

That's not saying much now days. Back in the 80s and 90s they were still trying to figure out emissions and the only way to do it was choke HP. The Chevy 3.6 V6 LFX  or LGX(and other hi feature models) engines they are putting in about every platform now are pumping out 310-335 HP and capable of a little more with tuning. They are also getting between 20 and 35 MPG's also depends on the platform since they are putting them in everything from 4wd trucks to Camaros to touring cars. Things have come a long way from the 190HP Z28s..lol

My wife's 15 impala has that 3.6 and it's wonderful on long trips with plenty of kick her in the ass power and still get 30mpg. I had a rental last week in Vegas with the same engine in a Camaro and it was obviously tuned different and I could kick it sideway at about every turn but was only getting 22ish MPG's with it on the freeway. So when folks talk about i4 turbo'd and only getting mid 30s I'm not even entertained I rather have the torques of a bigger displacement and only giving up a few MPG's.

The optima does has good low end torque too.  269 i believe

The ONE place I have found a manumatic to be useful was towing my bike back from GA when I raced at the Herrin Compound.  I could drop the transmission out of overdrive before bogging the engine on whatever hill I was trying to maintain 70mph up :p

Otherwise they just react too slowly.

it shifts a second AFTER you wanted it to, and I just find it maddening.  I also don't like that Kia has theirs set up backward.  I'm of the opinion that you should PULL the shifter to go up a gear, and push it forward to go down a gear.   Our Hyundai Tucson (2.7 V6) and our Kia Sorento (3.3 V6) both orient the shift patterin in the opposite manner.

I am resigned to the fact that my car will almost certainly not be a 'status symbol.'  A Civic slots into a weird area where it's okay for my 17 yr old neighbor to drive one, and it's also okay for my father-in-law and one of the judges at work to drive one ...but I can't have a coffee can muffler or a boy-racer wing on mine at 34 yrs old.  The 4-door Si is a nice in-between range that I had gotten wife endorsement, but also felt would satisfy my itch for something a little less boring.

...but if there's a bolt-on turbo kit for the 7th generation

Dont knock a kia.  My mom has an optima turbo 4cyl.  Can surprise you with how good it pulls.  I actually find it to be a well made car that drives great.  The seats feel great to me.  they are leather and heated.  Id prefer cooled seats in the summer though. Why i stick to cloth.

I have no mar tire lube and I have WD40.  I use the WD40 more often, because I can spray it.

You can mix it with water and put it in a spray bottle.  Mine came with a spray bottle

WD40 is basically kerosene in a can not going to hurt rubber at all. Far Cry from mineral spirits.

The catchall phrase “Stoddard Solvent” is no longer adequate to tell the proper story. WD-40® does indeed have 50% mineral spirits, but they are refined and purified for specific characteristics needed to meet today’s performance, regulator

No its mineral spirits.  Have a wif of both.    Real tire lube actually works better too.

Not really...I'd like to change things but up I need more of a reason than I just want something different. If it were $50 and 10 minutes of time to migrate over sure...

I honestly hadn't taken an in-depth look at Android stuff in several years. The more I look into it, the less attractive changing becomes. For all of the gripes Apple haters have about the iPhones/iOS, they sure do also have a lot of gripes about the Android phones and the OS...lack of ongoing support/updates, buggy BlueTooth, boot loops, proprietary software hate (i.e. Samsung Touchwiz), etc. At the end of the day, they all have their positives and shortcomings. Pick your poison. I'm not going to spend a lot of time and money to switch to not really gain anything worthwhile. the iPhone/iOS is offering a lot of the features that I used to think were cool and could only be found on Android or a jailbroke iPhone. Now that disparity has whittled away to very little which was surprising for me...

I know one thing...my bluetooth worked flawlessly before it forced the update on me and now i have to sometimes turn bluetooth off/on to get it to connect to my truck radio(sony).  You can actually change the touchwiz stuff.  I forget what its called but in the app store there is dozens of them to choose from.  Even microsoft makes one
