The only real difference in AKs is if they're milled vs. stamped receivers. The majority of the ones you will see are stamped, and lower quality (both of mine are stamped). Milled cost quite a bit more, weigh a bit more and are higher quality. That said - both use the same barrel and are about as accurate. Even my brothers VEPR-K is on par with my two. Probably an ammo issue. If I had to guess you were using Wolf, which is utter shit and only good for blowing shit up. Target shooting with it is a joke.
