  7. I didn't realize it that PETA only concern themselves with endangered animals- I thought they cared about the Ethical Treatment of all. I guess shooting animals and leaving them to rot is ok as long as you are federal agents and they are trespassing. too bad they don't think the same way when it comes to illegals crossing the border..... costing this country billions every year versus a few hundred thousand from Bundy Sent from my DROID RAZR
  8. save the Turtles, kill the cows..... makes perfect sense. where is the PETA outrage? Sent from my DROID RAZR
  9. They stay put as they are both very heavy. I just cover the 3rdhand with a tarp when not in use. My next build will definitely be on wheels as it will be used at a different location. Sent from my DROID RAZR
  10. Very cool, looking forward to your build pics. Here are some of my carpet target and the new 3rdhand lifetime Sent from my DROID RAZR
  11. Don't rule out the 444 Marlin. It is also a very nice heavy round traveling 2000+ fps Sent from my DROID RAZR
  12. Buffalo Bore makes some nice 44 mag ammo that helps close that gap. https://www.buffalobore.com/index.php?l=product_list&c=9 Sent from my DROID RAZR
  13. Glad I never sold the 44 mag Ruger carbine...but still will probably just use the T/c super 14 as I have for last 20 plus years if I don't have my tags filled during bow. Sent from my DROID RAZR
  14. I'm sure hoppes works well with slow traveling barrel fouling but Frog Lube works but better for real calibers. j/k I have/do carry a 38 snub from time to time. Not implying it is adequate for defense carry/ccw just saying it would not be my first or tenth choice for whitetail hunting Sent from my DROID RAZR
  15. +/-900fps and +/-300ft lbs is a very poor choice for deer @25 yards and unrealistic at 100yds Can it kill a deer, sure. But there are much, much better choices out there. Sent from my DROID RAZR

    WTT 40SW ammo

    I acquired 250 rounds of 40 sw ( 180gr/fmj -150rnds Grindell ~100rnds Winchester) in a recent firearms sale. trade for 9mm / 10mm / 45acp . Delaware/Knox county pick up
  20. I built a 4'x4' x10" carpet target couple years ago after getting tired trying to repair foam/ block targets. I also have a third hand bag target that is filled with old clothes. They both work great at stopping arrows with field points. I still have a block target I use for broad heads and for stand practice. I just bought third hand skins over the weekend to build a 3x3 target. I can't decide to do it on a raised platform with a small roof like third hand has done or on castors so it can be moved easily. I like my carpet target especially when practicing long shots and it has lasted a lot of shots from a lot of different bows/speeds but the downside is that it is extremely heavy Sent from my DROID RAZR
  21. My bad, needed another 'arrr' www.colorrite.com sent from a treestand on the back forty

  23. No worries, not sure if you were aware of the outcome. A person(who's daytime job is a firefighter) became voluntarily intoxicated then decides to assault a cab driver over the fare. When a uniformed officer arrives to assist/resolve the incident, the intoxicated individual flees, failing to comply with the lawful order of a law enforcement officer. Then when detained by the officer and during the attempt to subdue him/take him into custody, the intoxicated man resists his lawful arrest, gains control of the officer and assaults him. Officer shoots suspect to stop his aggression as he was in fear for his life. Unfortunate outcome but more importantly,a series of poor decisions by a drunk man that ended with him losing his life and forever changing the life of the officer and his family. Suspect being a off duty fireman plays no role except for headlines. The officer appears to lose control of the situation when he stops trying to detain him and converse with the people taking the video and yelling questions at him. He let his guard down and allows the suspect to gain control. sent from a treestand on the back forty
  24. Case had been closed a couple weeks ago. Grand jury did not indict http://fox4kc.com/2014/02/25/cell-phone-video-shows-final-moments-of-confrontation-between-bruno-and-hubbard/ sent from a treestand on the back forty
  25. Great choice for sure, I think the web's are toward the top in the sport/touring boot market. Mine surely have stretched some (probably alot:) ) through the repeated drownings Sent from a tree stand on the back fourty
