  6. Common misconception this part of the year. Books can be thrown out the window because supply < demand = higher pricing. Not to mention certain bikes just maintain a higher resale value. A 2001 R1 in a dealership this time of year is about a $4795 bike. A 2003 Shadow Spirits seem to be in the $4495 range. So the difference is not as much as you would think. I would check out that R1 very thoroughly though. Our greatest challenge as a dealership is buying sportbikes and spotting all if the little details about the bike to gather a full understanding of the condition. Something like a little glue residue around wheel weights on a bike. Guess what, that means it has been on the track more than likely because they taped their weights. Missing fairing bolt here or there? Probably have been taken off and put back on more than just a couple times. Lots of details to keep your eye open for. Just so everyone knows, we offer a free inspection of any motorcycle you are buying no matter if it is from us or anyone else. We want to help everyone make the best decision for them. We can't beat out all individuals pricing, but we can at least make sure your not getting worked over by someone trying to pass their problems over to you.

  17. Ok, you say your first sport bike. Does this mean you have owned a different motorcycle? Let it be clear that anyone with half a brain can ride a 1000cc sportbike. There is a difference in riding and owning. When you are just riding one around your not going to be getting comfortable on it on that ride. Now when you own one, you will start to think you know what you are doing. This will be long before you actually do. This is not a jab at you, but this is entry level motorcyclist in general. Small mistakes on a 1000cc bike have big consequences. Everyone has a friend of a friend's cousin who bought one for their first bike and did just fine. Yeah, ok, maybe. But statistically that will not be the case for you. I am sure there are plenty of places that will sell you a big bore sportbike as your first bike and think nothing of it. I personally like to sleep at night and not think about the life that I am putting in danger just to make a buck. I wish you the best, but I really hope you will come to the realization that a GSXR1000 may not be the best first bike for you.
  18. there was meant to be an lol behind that first sentence. Kinda came off as a dick there. sorry. lol post whore lol
  19. Not posting miles doesn't mean anything. It only has 6k miles on it. As for why it has been repainted, we all know why that is done. Also I am not sure why I didn't post it in the first post, but the is a small superficial ding in the frame below the gas tank on the right side as well. Also since you are just thinking we are going to take a beating at the auction, you couldn't be more wrong. In the last month there have been 5 of these in same or lessor condition float through the auction in the $4100-$5100 range. Getting less at an auction is acceptable because I am more concerned with a customer being happy with their bike than a few more $. It is not on the website for a reason as stated in the fist sentence of this thread. See this would be why dealers do not often try to give hook ups on bike to the open public because one person is going to question everything about it. This bike would easily be $6295 if it were in perfect condition. I have sold a 2 in just the last couple weeks. Let me know if you have any other questions. Check out the Independent Motorsports Facebook page for pictures on the F3.
  20. Is that like saying something shitty with a smile on your face and thinking it is ok? The only "wreck" I have given it was when it slid on ice this past winter which bent a wheel and did in a tie rod end. Both tie rods replaced, wheel was straightened, front wheel bearings replaced, and a fresh alignment have been done since.
