  1. I was there from 7-8:30ish.. and went for a decent ride shortly after I left.
  2. That looks like death/sex. I didn't know turbo kits' on bikes put out that much of a gain.
  3. I might as well move on this rather then the other one. Let's see how fast the guy responds.
  4. What time? I'm pretty sure I'll make it up there if I can get enough work done beforehand.
  5. Frames straight, the forks are in good condition. internals and gaskets are my main concern. However, the bike does run smoothly. According to the current owner it received new pistons immediately prior to his purchase. The bike was put down on Ice by the current owner, after a full season of riding with out a problem. When he put it down, he cracked the stator case, bent the clutch handle, foot peg, and smashed the water reservoir. Its runs damn well for how it looks aesthetically. So it's more then a rolling chassis.. but that's about as far as I got, as the stator is bad and the water reservoir is damaged so I couldn't ride it when I looked at it. Other then the gaskets my next concern lies with the gear box. although the owner said it's in good condition, I don't have immediate knowledge of it's condition.
  6. I'd only sell the Kat for space, as it can't be kept in my living room for ever and I got only enough space in my garage for one bike and my various car parts.
  7. I wouldn't pay $1000 for it, just like I won't pay a thousand for a car that wasn't road worthy. I was gonna offer around $750 on it.. and wouldn't go much higher. If he doesn't bite no big deal. I see what your saying though. I'm just trying to think this out before I make a move either way.
  8. I'm looking to buy another bike here shortly, however the bike is in extremely questionable condition and I am having second thoughts. Thoughts from "this bike is too powerful for me" to "this is gonna be too much work and will take too much time away from riding." I haven't been riding for long at all. I ride a 93 Katana 600, and am pretty content with the power, however would always be content with more. I'm looking at what most would consider a project bike or a complete wreck. Which was what I was hoping for, however found out the history of it and now am a bit more cautious. The bike was a race bike down in GA, laid down when the current owner went out in the snow. It's a '98 ZX6R, needs fairings, stator, lights, and complete paint. Really, not that much.. maybe a weekend project.. but the wait for parts would delay that incredibly. The asking price is $1000.. It soon (month or two of riding) would need new tires and a new clip on. I would also probably sell my Katana for this bike, just because I don't have the space for two bikes, especially one in pieces.
  9. Good point, but unfortunately if he shot the kid in the back he'd be liable for murder... unless he had the gun in his hand. Atleast that's how I understood the law.. I could be wrong. That being said.. I miss my hand gun.. but I wouldn't hesitate to use the AK in a situation like that.
  10. My rough '93 Katana Since the original poster said "2 or 4 wheels" Here's my true toy. After that's done, I'm gonna get a newer bike.. maybe sooner, but my best bet is after I get the tC done.
  11. My class was Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
  12. State offered/sponsored class =$25.. the private offerings run like $200-$300 around here I believe. I literally squeezed into the class on Wed. Aside from getting into the class a few hours before it booked up, there were (I think) 4 people who walked in. I took it at the OSU campus, carried on to the ODPS parking lot for the Range.. The class is ran 3 days, one in the class room, and two on the "range". 6-10 the first day.. 2-8 the other days.
  13. If the weather's good, I'm sure my friend will drag me up there.
  14. I'm a noob too, and am always looking for people to ride with. I actually just got out of the MSF course today, and can say it's well worth it. Although alot of the skills they teach seemed kinda remedial at first, but it really builds confidence and teach a lot of control. Well worth the $25, IMO.
  15. I actually was wondering about the validity of these when I was at Iron Pony last. No one really gave me an answer, however with your success I should probably pick one up because a lot of my destinations include at least one (if not 2 or 3) actuated signals, and I've just started avoiding them at all costs.
