I wouldn't bet money on that. Terry Jones is saying that the Imam will move the project. People close to the Imam (including his wife) are saying "wtf?"

I have two tickets to sell, I'll sell them both for $400. I will only do the deal through eBay though, because I am new to Ohio Riders. Send me your name, address and eBay ID so I can set it up. You will pay eBay and I will send the tickets, eBay will only release the funds to me AFTER you receive the tickets and verify that they are real.

What you say is true, and means absolutely dick to people who lost their homes. The Federal government didn't include the southern parishes of Louisiana in it's state of emergency declaration. FEMA claimed that the governor did not include those parishes in her aid request - a claim that proved to be false when the governor publicly released copies of the aid request. As far as the buses go, they could get on the buses - and go where? Surrounding areas were already refusing refugees, and the Astrodome fit far more people than the buses could have evacuated (despite what Sean Hannity will repeat over and over). All this doesn't matter. None of this is the fault of the people who were out of home, food and water. But those are the people that Glenn Beck hates, because they wouldn't stand in a nice quite orderly line.

It wasn't proven completely untrue. It's what he said. Now, he apparently limits this to 9/11 families who speak on TV, but he doesn't like that they complain. He hates them, because they complain. We aren't talking about looters and rioters. We're talking about refugees in the Astrodome. Many of these people (taxpayers, by the way, who paid for the aid that they were supposed to get) lost their homes because of inefficient and ineffective federal action (and inaction). Hell yeah, my kid is more important than any other victim, to me, and I'm quite certain that other parents will tell you the same. Glenn Beck probably hates me, too. Because I love my kid more than other people.

"I'm just asking questions!"

This is true. Conservatives have a much easier time on both radio and television. I'm not sure exactly the reason (it could have something to do with the fact that it's easier to rile people up with "OMG, terrorists islam death panels communist" than it is with "OMG, uh, give people health care", but what do I know, I'm just guessing). Truthfully, I listen to Glenn Beck on a semi-daily basis, in my car on the way home from work. It's interesting to listen to. I'm sure that it's interesting to me in different ways than it is his fans, but it's interesting nonetheless. The fact of the matter is, the dude is nuts. From the things we've talked about in here, to his attacks on Obama's name, to taking back the civil rights movement, to his nutso claims that the gay agenda is to tear down churches, to his constant comparisons of everyone and everything to Hitler. He's a nutjob. I'm saying this as someone who listens on a semi-regular basis. And honestly, if you don't find yourself surprised, or even sometimes disgusted, at the things he says, I gotta wonder if you're really listening.

As far as I can tell, the only words being used in this thread were Glenn Beck's own words. Please don't insult us liberals. Now that Glenn Beck has taken back the civil rights movement, can't we all just get along?

I think what's funny (and what's being missed) is that Glenn Beck's rant wasn't just about how he hates the families of 9/11 victims who complain (or "ask questions") - the context of those statements was a rant about the victims of Katrina who weren't standing in line waiting for relief funds to come in - that was when he started to hate people faster than the families of the 9/11 victims. He hated the 25,000 Katrina victims because they, after a week without shelter, food or water, did not stand in an orderly line for relief. I can tell you one thing for certain, if my kid hasn't had a meal in a week, I'm not standing at the end of a 25,000 person line, either.

I think I'm out of challenges.

That's questionable. I've seen the definition of bigotry, I don't think that fits.

It's even less genuine than that. bin Laden was all pissed off because of our presence in Saudi Arabia. He'd already been exiled and essentially disowned by Saudi Arabia, before 9/11 ever happened. And our presence in Saudi Arabia is not a hostile one. What it all comes down to are crazy "reasons" from a crazy person. If it wasn't our presence in the middle east, or our evil Western ways, or his radical Islamic beliefs, it would be something else. Crazy people don't need a reason to be crazy, they just need an excuse.

This is a pretty blatant untruth. I'm not really sure where people get this idea, but I bet it rhymes with Flenn Heck.

No one is saying that this guy doesn't have the right. We know he has the right. But that doesn't mean that he shouldn't be criticized for it. Criticizing him is also protected speech. Having the right to be a bigot doesn't mean that you have protection from critics. Well then, just saying wrong stuff!

It's not supposed to be funny. The point is, people who bring up the "sensitivity" issue of Park51 are associating American Muslims with 9/11 and terrorism. Which makes about as much sense as associating Baptists and Methodists with the Catholic priests who molested children.
-
I don't get the whole "poor taste" of Park51. The people in that actual community support Park51. If American Muslims were trying to build a shrine to terrorists, yes, that would be in horribly bad taste. But they aren't (I'm also sick of this us vs. them mentality, we're all Americans). We weren't attacked by the Muslims building the community center, and we weren't attack by Islam. It's weird, I've never seen anyone protesting a Christian church going up near a school.

Glenn Beck doesn't really make arguments. His rants are generally emotion, hyperbole and fear mongering. It's hard to prove someone wrong when they don't necessary present an argument. Which is why Glenn Beck "asks questions." Unless he's talking about the victims of 9/11. He's pretty happy to say, quite plainly, that he hates them.

But "they" aren't the target of the Qu'ran burning. The book burning is targeting Americans, not foreigners in the Middle East.

I use Rocketfish bluetooth headphones (I think it's just Best Buy's brand), and my iPhone, which sits in my handbars with velcro. They fit in my ear like earbuds, but I can still hear traffic well enough. I don't imagine that you can use them with a full face helmet but they work great with the half helmet I wear.

I'd agree with that, if the rules and regulations were not easily changeable without homeowner approval. Bylaws are supposed to be changed by homeowner approval, but house rules, which are just as binding as bylaws, can be changed without any approval at all.

Ugh, everything has changed, this place sucks now.

I don't believe that it is. Though, I do get a kick out of folks in Ohio with their stars and bars on the back of their truck. Do they realize that Ohio was part of the union? Still, if they want to fly it, more power to them, I guess. You say what you want to say about yourself, and you should have a right to do that. This is why I hate home owners associations. Well, one reason of many.
