ok well still on my quest for riding boots/shoes i want something protective, not race oriented though. i want something comfortable on and off the bike. i wont be doing any track days or anything. i just want a all around nice street boot, with good protection, and good comfort. ive got it narrowed down to these.. they only ones i havent tried on are the new icon tarmac ventilated, cause iron pony doesnt have them in yet. and TCX cause no one around here carries them. and the sidis, cause i just never tried them on yet which would you choose and why? and if you have another option (besides a full race boot) please enlighten me. i have them listed in whats comfortable and uncomfortable just trying them on and walking around in them for a minute Comfortable: Alpinestar SMX-1 http://www.alpinestars.com/SMX_Shoe/pd/c/9/np/-1/p/251307.html Icon Tarmac Ventilated http://www.rideicon.com/product_details.jsp?category=1978&id=7885 Icon Accelrant http://www.rideicon.com/product_details.jsp?category=1978&id=7886 TCX jupiter 2 xcr http://www.motosport.com/street/product/TCX-JUPITER-2-XCR-BOOTS/?catalogId=110624&catID=445&pcatID=418&catName=Footwear&pcatName=Gear&tnc=1&srchHistoryURL=b17kdhel||parentCategoryID~3^superParentCategoryID~category_root^parentCategoryName~Sport^categoryID~418^categoryName~Gear^subCategoryName~Footwear^subCategoryID~445 Uncomfortable: Joe Rocket Super street boots http://www.motosport.com/street/product/JOE-ROCKET-SUPER-STREET-BOOTS/?catalogId=110620&catID=445&pcatID=418&catName=Footwear&pcatName=Gear&tnc=1&srchHistoryURL=d40353hx||parentCategoryID~3^superParentCategoryID~category_root^parentCategoryName~Sport^categoryID~418^categoryName~Gear^subCategoryName~Footwear^subCategoryID~445 Alpinestar SMX-2 http://www.alpinestars.com/SMX_2/pd/c/9/np/-1/p/222408.html Sidi Streetburner http://www.motosport.com/street/product/SIDI-STREETBURNER-BOOTS/?catalogId=109500&page=3&refine=1&srchHistoryURL=rzztwc9u||parentCategoryID~3^superParentCategoryID~category_root^parentCategoryName~Sport^categoryID~418^categoryName~Gear^subCategoryName~Footwear^subCategoryID~445

no idea, havent even started to look into pricing stuff out for projectors and materials. if my buddy decides to do it, then ill have a list of stuff you need, and ill probably do a "how to" write up

black.. i cant sport white, id rather have something that i can get dirty and not care. i have a pair of white sneuax shoes and they look like shit ive had them like 8 months.
-
havent gotten any yet.. gonna get either the astars smx, or the new icon tarmac ventilated
-
ill make a backing to mount the projector into, and paint the reflective part of the stock housing black. and grips wise, im ordering the Driven d-3 alumitech grips

nothing wrong with icon gear at all. some people dont want to look boy racer in full leathers going on a sunday ride. i personally am not goign to be wearing a full leather suit, gauntlet gloves and some horribly uncomfortable race boots to ride in. Icon makes a great product that is protective, quality, and comfortable, everything i would want for street riding. im all for being safe and wearing gear, but some of you guys get a little crazy with the full race gear for an afternoon ride. this is not moto gp, its county roads.

with no projector housings your gonna have a scattered light beam, alot of people dont care, cause they are still brighter, but the person driving, or riding towards you might lol. ill get some pics of my buddy's 99 r6 with his HIDs on at night. so you can judge for yourself. and the bags are tourmaster coretech, tribag system (tail bag, and saddlebags)

yes im gonna post a review after my seats get done. i have heard a ton of good things about.. a great day to ride (company, or really one guy in florida) he does your seat custom to you, weight, height, riding style etc. uses a medical grade type gel thing, not really a gel pad, its called supracor, and he uses foamex as well. doesnt use your factory foam at all.. he uses the stock seat pan and thats it (well and the stock cover if your not replacing it it with something else) he designs he seat to take the pressure off your knees, wrists, and pressure points in your ass. but the seat still retains stock shape. that coupled with the luimoto seat covers im gonna be in heaven. and for what he charges to have a custom seat built to you, its about a hundred or so less than a corbin.. and form what i hear his seats are better than a corbin or sargeant

nope... i thought about doing the dual headlight mod, but i dont want to take my headlight apart

haha i saw you at the BP in dublin, you looked cold
-
thinking about it, might get some infinity projectors and throw them in there

yeah i absolutely love the HID kit. especially in the stock projector housing. i put a set in my friend 99 r6 and they looked good, but the beam was scattered alot with regular housings. ill have progress pics of his bike up at some point. we are redoing the whole bike, new paint, chain sprocket, windscreen, hid lights, undertail, blah blah blah... lol

got my coolant leak fixed (stupid old thermostat), and got the bike back together. so i go the rest of my goodies on, new windscreen and HID kit... and got some bags for the long hauls as well! just need to order my new grips, and when my new seat covers come in from luimoto ill be sending the seats out to "a great day to ride" (finally a comfy ride) anyways....... i ordered the HID kit from DDM tuning aka apexcone (BMW guys supposedly rave about them) didnt take long for the kit to arrive, and was shipped, and packaged well. install was pretty straight forward, and simple as well. just had to find a place for the ballast. i got a H7 5000k slim ballast kit. these things look great, takes only a few seconds for them to fully heat up, and they are very bright! and look great in the stock projector housings. here is where i put the ballast at. behind the speedo. stuck great with the supplied double sided tape that came in the kit. my windscreen covers them up so you cant see them after the windscreen is on. i had to drill a hole in the plastic dust cover for the wires to come through. the harness for the HID lights came with a nice rubber weather proof grommet to fit nicely in the hole you drill. all the other connecters are weather proof as well. the air duct covers, cover what little mess of wires there are up, and makes for a nice clean install. here is a pics of just the low beam on.. and here is with low/hi on.. front shot of both headlights on and a few more pics for enjoyment and why not throw in a pic of the new zero gravity double bubble windscreen ready for the big trips now!

thats how i feel, ill probably just add another to the stable.. dont really want to sell this one at all

while its winter i decided to change brake fluid, flush and fill coolant, etc. on my 04 r6. i took it on one ride one day when it was warm enough to, and noticed that i smelled some coolant. didnt think anything of it because i figured i filled it to full and it was coming from the overflow tube. well tonight i put on my new windscreen and put my hids in. i started the bike up to check out the lights, and saw some drops of coolant on the ground after it warmed up. i traced the leak to the thermostat housing. i started disassembling it thinking ill order a new gasket. well low and behold no gasket, its part of the thermostat. my question is... is this common? did i do something wrong when i flushed and filled the system for it to start leaking? im not quite sure how to bleed the system, so i just filled let it run turned off broke the cap loose, and filled as needed, letting it cool down in between. just kept doing that until it was full. then topped the reservoir off. so should i just go ahead and order a new thermostat? should i have any other concerns??
