  1. Was a good time last night and nice to meet some of you guys. Thanks for coming up!
  2. IMO the 4g63 is hands down a better motor. The only way a 2.3 based engine is going to come close to comparing is by investing into some serious port work, audi head, or an Esslinger head. Even after that I think the bottom end will become a limiting factor at some point.
  3. They sprayed the whole track in the morning and it was not bad, not great though, for the first few passes of the day. All went to shit after a few street tire cars got on it though. Do they have slick only nights there? I would imagine it would be somewhat ok on of those nights.
  4. Looks like a few of us from up north will be heading down in the morning.
  5. Here's a vid a customer of ours just sent over.,Norris Designs EVO on the Silverstone road course. The motor is a 2.3 stroker with a GT42 and our off the shelf EVO divided T4 manifold. To all the haters who don't believe in the GT42 and how OMG big and OMG Laggy and OMG Race turbo... http://www.akronracing.com/forum/images/smiles/thebirdman.gifhttp://www.akronracing.com/forum/images/smiles/nono.gif When you know what you are doing and when shit is put together properly, it works properly. Enjoy. http://www.shearerfab.com/videos/norrisdesigns-silverstone.wmv
  6. We did part of the first leg on Sunday, we didn't make it very far with the rain and bald drag radials on the car. We just pulled over and took some photos of everyone driving by. It was a clusterfuck leaving hte IX center trying to get to 90, however it is definetly something I would like to do again. Hot Rod might be back next year for the tour and it will be a bit more oganized getting everyone to the highway. Here are my pics... http://shearerfabrications.com/dev/gallery/07hrpt
  7. Is that the Speed "somethings" turbo kit, a California shop? That should make for a wicked street car. Should be able to obtain ~700hp@18lbs depending on exhaust wheel selection. Are the turbos going to need a scavenge pump?
  8. What are you looking to get done? $2-3k for a quality turbo set-up is going to be tough to do.
  9. What exhaust wheel and turbine housing does the turbo have? Check for exhaust leaks. Check for boost Leaks. Check for cracks in the exhaust housing around the wastegate valve. Is the actuator arm adjustable? If so make sure it is adjusted properly.
