  1. Oh. Okay. Well, fortunately I don't care, just trying to help you all out with your planning for coming to my city next year. Signing back off now for another couple years or so.
  2. If I can make a suggestion for yous guys. I live downtown near German Village and know the city pretty well. If you want to try to avoid the traffic, parking issues and high hotel prices right there at the convention center consider this option instead. Try the Comfort Inn & Suites at 650 South High Street, Columbus, OH, 43215. They are in a perfect location for a few reasons: The Cbus Circulator stop is right across the street. This is the FREE shuttle that runs all the way up to the Short North and back. It's clean and safe for all you non-city folks who fear the city. Or you can Uber, cab, or walk. The area is clean and safe. You can bar hop straight up and back High St to the Convention Center and beyond. Panera is right across the street or lots of little restraunts and diners everywhere They have free parking at the hotel for people staying there I'm pretty sure they've been recently remodeled as well. A friend stayed here twice and seemed to like it. He is in the moto-industry as well. I checked their hotel website and they are not booking for that weekend yet. You may be able to get a group rate if you want to call now. Get ahead of the rest of the industry. For those not familiar with Columbus, we have gone through sooooo much change and building like crazy. It's clean, safe and plenty for everyone. It's so perfect for conventions like this now. I wouldn't have said that even a year ago, but downtown is a hot bed of activity all weekend long now. It's night and day from where it was even just a few years ago. If you need tips or suggestions feel free to reach out to me. I love playing tour guide.
  3. I appreciate that. Honestly though, I'm kind of in a been there done that phase of my life with the large group rides and always being one-of-the-guys. Rather ride with some cool ladies and their significant others like who I meet at the rally every year and of course Pauly and his wifey. Wish everyone lived closer. :/
  4. Cool! Thanks! My boyfriend lives in Urbana. How close are you there? I've never ridden in his neck woods as it seemed flat and straight that way. Any of the other girls here in Cbus?
  5. Ha! Well thanks for trying, but honestly, I'm not doing this outreach for the rally. I just really want to meet some more lady riders local to me. But to the "lesbians needing shown how to ride" comment! That cracked me up. I'm honestly glad whoever makes these assumptions of this event and other events like it stay away. They would only taint (pun intended) the awesome that it is each year. The people that go are the right people to be there and thankfully that's all that matters.
  6. Thanks Paul and Jason. Good to know there are a few out there even if not on here. I DEFINITELY have no interest in staying or communicating on this forum. I really just want to find some cool girls who ride sportbikes and wear gear instead of posing to get attention. I have to wait every year for the rally or special occasions to meet and ride with them. I know we exist locally. Just trying to find them is all. :/
  7. If there is...point me to it. I couldn't find it! Okay guys, if you know of some ladies who ride (sportbikes with gear - yes, I'm a snob in this manner and don't care) but don't get on this forum can you share where they visit most so I can find them? Instagram? Facebook? I know they're out there, I want to find them. I know this seems like a weird post, but as the founder of the Women's Sportbike Rally and it hitting it's 10th year, I'm saddened that I don't know any ladies here local in Columbus that I can ride with. I had to start a rally and travel to Deals Gap to make it happen. Where are they?
  8. If you're here, post up ladies! We have stuff to chat about!
  9. Hello peeps! I haven't been on here forever so forgive me if a post similar to this exists...really didn't want to go digging. Lazy like that! So I'm wondering where all the gals are who ride sportbikes. Specifically ones who prefer riding in gear (helmet, jacket, etc.) and on curvy roads. It's been forever since I've met riders like that here local in Cbus. Are any on this site?
  10. Yes it is! It's going to be even better with a little upgraded suspension.
  11. Haha!!! Got it covered man! Thanks Ryan for replying. I'll get with you on more details soon. Just ordered the front today. Hoping to have that soon. Doesn't look like I'll have the shock until after the track day though.
  12. Paul, I'm pretty sure I'll never own a Ducati. Pretty bike, but nah! And I keep forgetting about you being all motor mechanic guy. I could always bring my baby boy up to you! Looks like I won't have my rear suspension before the track day though. The front stuff should be here soon. I think they're shipping today.
  13. I'm pretty excited by it. This bike is probably the most fun bike I have ever owned (second only to my supermoto) even with the crappy suspension and throttle twitchiness. I need to learn more about the ECU thing. Heard about what it can do and would looooove to get the throttle smoother responding.
  14. Calinazaret, Going back to the original reason for this post, I totally get where you're coming from with being a girl. There aren't many of us, but there are a lot of us spread out. If you're interested in meeting a lot of other women who are damn awesome (include Isacc's papa's wife) we're around and congregate each year at Deals Gap in September too for a women's sportbike rally. You'll hear stories like this and also see that being a chick on a sportbike really isn't a big deal since there are a lot of us out there. Hope to see you around. I'm not on these boards too often, but love to see more women riding sportbikes. I'll give you my recent gender story which still happens after 15 years of riding. My boyfriend and I were stopped at a gas station in SEO a few weeks ago and I mentioned how my head was killing me. The guy behind the counter overheard me and said, "well we sell beer, that'll help." (I was in full leather gear.) I was confused why he would offer me that since I was obviously riding. Then my boyfriend said, "Oh, she's got her own bike." Then it dawned on me, he thought I was a passenger. So I decided to tease him, so I said, "Oh, you made the assumption I was a passenger, didn't you?" He said, "Yes, I am so sorry." Then I said, "It's okay. Happens all the time, but I will tell you this. 15 years riding (pointing to myself). Just over a year riding (pointing to my boyfriend). Riding a brand new motorcycle (pointing to myself). Rides my old bike I put 33,000 miles on (pointing to my boyfriend). I got HIM into riding." (No worries, my boyfriend thought it was funny so don't think I was degrading him.) The guy said, "Wow, I am so sorry. That is definitely different and you don't hear that too often. I'll never make another assumption again." Sometimes guys need to be reminded to stop making assumptions. It was fun. Hope to see you out on the road. Wave if you do!
  15. Howdy folks. So someone recommended someone on this forum to me about a year ago and I can't for the life of me remember who that someone was. He was great and fixed my front fork issue. I bought the FZ-09 and planning to buy the AK-20 front stuff and a Penske rear shock. I'm a dunce in the mechanical department so hoping this guy, if he still works on bikes, is around to install it (when I get it hopefully in the next couple weeks before an upcoming track day). Anyone remember his name? He lived out in Hilliard but was moving to a bigger place some place with a bigger garage. Any help would be great. Or if you or someone you know does work in this department, lemme know!
  16. LOL...wow did this thread change topics! LOL Umm...to put it back on topic, bike is sold! Guess I should update my avatar with my new bike now!
  17. Thanks guys! Yeah, can't wait for the Spring. I see that pretty bike in my garage everyday with less than a mile on it and it's driving me crazy. As for price...we'll see what the tax shoppers think. Paul, I'm sure there is a joke there but not exactly sure I get it. But I never "get" you anyway, so it's fitting.
  18. My tone kind of sounded icky. I should have added several smilies.
  19. I realize it's the dead of winter, but I'm in no rush to sell. Tax season is right around the corner which is the only reason I'm putting it up now. I can wait. I didn't just pick some arbitrary number. If you look on cycletrader you'll find I priced it fairly with an OBO disclaimer. It's crazy what these are being listed at. You can't find these at all below $4500. Besides, the last bike I sold, I underpriced it and it sold in a day. I'd rather go high and work down instead of losing some cash I could have gotten otherwise. I'm surprised Blitz that you said 15,000 is a lot of miles. I put over 33 on my last bike and it still ran awesome. Mileage is not an issue for me if the bike has been well cared for, but maybe that's just me. "High miles" is all relative IMO.
  20. 2006 Kawasaki ZX-6R LOCATION: Downtown, Columbus, OH 43215VIN: JKBZXJC146A045092ENGINE SIZE: 636ccMILES: 15,615COLOR: BlackTIRES: Good condition, depending on your riding style, could last for most of the riding seasonSTORAGE: Garage kept and currently covered in my garageOWNERS: I am the second owner of the bike. I purchased in May of 2012 from a guy near Pittsburgh, PA. The previous owner took great care and garage-kept the bike as well.TITLE: It has a clean title, but I do have a small lien on the bike so it is not in hand. Easy to take care of though.WHY SELLING? - I just bought a new bike, so this clean baby is ready for a new home. (Preferably one with an experienced and licensed rider who won't trash it.) KIND OF RIDING? - It's a sportbike so I rode it like a sportbike which was on curvy roads and at the track (six track days total - MidO and Grattan). I have no clue how to pop a wheelie so during the time I've had it, the wheels have never left the ground. I would not have bought this bike if it appeared to have been stunted so to my knowledge it never has been.CRASHES? - Nope! But the previous anal-retentive owner dropped it in a gravel drive way and the minor scratches it caused drove him crazy so he replaced all the body work. I do have the original body work as well which you can have. There is a slight scratch on the mirror back side of the mirror as he did not replace that.MODS: In my opinion, modifications to a motorcycle do not increase the value so I did not consider them as part of the price. All stock parts (i.e. rear seat, turn signals, passengar foot pegs, etc.) except for the exhaust (which I don't have) come with the bike if you want them. 21. Okay moto mechanic junkies! Need your help/suggestions for my 2006 ZX6R. We bled my front brakes from all three nips (there is one near the master cylinder...weird, I know) but it still doesn't feel right. The lever is too close to my throttle (on setting 1) and my stopping power is not as quick as I know it should be. The pads do not look like they're worn down (I haven't taken them out to do a close inspection, just did a visual). There is 12,500 on the bike. All stock lines. No squeaking or anything. Any thoughts on what to do next? This is a pic of the lever fully compressed.
  22. Actually one of the guys I was with already spoke with the gas station owner. Hopefully the message was relayed to management.
