Does anyone know what police department would cover that area? Westerville or Powell? Yeah, I just found that this existed (I don't get on here much), but we may consider that next week for sure. And I think the guy that bought my YZF last month goes there and I would love to see it again. Thanks everyone. Glad to know I'm not crazy for thinking that what he did was unnecessary. I am going to research these so called violations so I can be completely informed on my bike.

Good to know. Not that I ever really find myself in situations like these ever. It did make me ponder what it would be like to show up in court with his ridiculous list of two violations and my squeaky clean record, Army veteran, volunteerism, notoriety in riding, gear and safety consciousness and fund raising efforts to name a few and make him look like a prized jerk for picking on me because of an integrated turn signal, which you can see just fine, and a missing reflector. Doubtful, but a girl can daydream.

Yes, I realize that. I was just pointing out that there were other more "suitable" people to screw with besides us. We didn't get a name since we figure it probably wouldn't have mattered. He didn't cite us but we were on private property and he never had his lights on (not sure if that mattered), so he was just trying to scare us. You could tell by his demeanor though that he was hoping we would cause a problem which is why Ken stopped asking questions and we all just waited until he shut up and drove away to screw with someone else so we could be on our way. In 14 years as a sportbike rider, I have never been screwed with like that before...even at Deals Gap. It was incredibly sad.

So tonight I was suckered into returning to the QSL Bike Night for the first time in at least six years give or take. Same old stuff that I remember but it was kinda nice hanging out with my friend Ken and his buddies Nick and Jeff. We left around 9 p.m. and stopped at the Shell so Jeff could get gas. The rest of us pulled off to the side next to the air pump sitting on our bikes geared up (helmets, jackets, boots, gloves...the usual), bikes turned off just waiting. A cop pulls up behind us (he had just finished harassing a guy in a Vett who was filling up) and asks us to get off our bikes. Ken asks what the problem is and he replies that he is going to show us all the illegal elements to our bikes. Turn signals (integrated, flush...though my stock ZX-6R were more flush than Ken's aftermarket), red reflectors missing and license plate placement (all of which were easily viewable, but still tucked further back then stock) and that all of these were reasons to impound the bikes. Keep in mind at one point he had to stop talking because the noise was so loud from all the crusiers, a group of other sportbikers with no gear, helmets and the same illegal elements (only much worse) pulled out of the parking lot. When Ken tried to ask a clarifying question about turn signals, the cop really turned on the "charm" and claimed Ken (who is the nicest guy you will ever meet and who's bro-in-law is a Dublin cop) was arguing. I was really flabbergasted by the treatment we were getting from this cop. We are not the type of riders who go Mach 5 down the freeway weaving in and out of traffic, we're always geared up, our bikes, though slightly modified as stated above, were just that...slightly modified but NOTHING compared to half the bikes in the QSL lot and those giving motorcyclists a bad reputation. Oh and this was my second ride on the bike I just bought from a guy in Pittsburgh who recently had its annual safety inspection...and it passed. (Yes, I realize, state-to-state, rules are different.) Forgive me for asking, but is this treatment about standard these days? I've kind of been out of the local loop and working to get back in it now that life is more stable, but if this is what I have to look forward to if I dare ride around town, forget it...I'll stick to the twisties and track. Side note: I usually ALWAYS use hand signals when I ride too in addition to my three sets of turn signals (front stock, rear integrated and signals as part of my license plate re-locator) if that tells you what kind of rider I am. I'm still shaking my head at the situation.

Okay, so I'm in the market for a ZX-6R. I think I found what I want but the guy has not tuned it up since owning it and is has 13,700 miles on it. He has changed the oil and had the recall for the gasket fixed, so that's a plus. So I gather plugs, wires, valve-adjustment, fluids, suspension and brake check are necessary. Does anyone know if this is pretty hard to do on this bike? I've changed the spark plugs, brake pads and fluids on my YZF600R before and that wasn't too hard. Had a friend help me with bleeding the brakes and that went okay too. I'm wondering how this bike is to work on. I will likely need to source out the valve-adjustment and suspension work if necessary, but wondering about the basics. Any thoughts would be great before I decide on this bike as the keeper! Thanks!

Alex, I'm glad you like it and that you're smart about gear which was very important to me with who I sold it to. Makes me happy! Thanks Jinu, Mike and Kent! I'm definitely not done riding, and looking all over the net for something that will work for what I want. Never meant to disappear for so long, but life throws you curve balls and I had to adjust for a while. Here's hoping whatever I find will make me pine to get back and ride as much as I used to before I took that effin' job in WV that disrupted my lifestyle. And I would love the 675, just a bit pricey (and rare to find).

Thanks guys. I will keep that in mind. I love the styling of the '03-'04 636 the best, but I am eyeing an '06 at Cycle Co. on Broad. A little overpriced IMO so hoping they will come down in price. We'll see. I've started looking at other 600s as well so the feedback is definitely welcomed. Thank you!

Yeah, it will be weird seeing me on a different bike. To say that I'm not incredible sad right now is an understatement, but I'm trying hard to focus on the reasons I sold it rather than the reasons I didn't want to sell it. Thankfully I know that I've passed the bike to a good home. Thanks for the smooth transfer Alex. I hope you enjoy/love that bike as much as I have and if you have any questions at all, no matter how big/small let me know.

Awe, thanks guys! I like being good people. I guess we'll see if you like the bike tomorrow. I know I will shed a few tears if you decide to. This bike is the one thing I have always been able to count on and some of my best memories are with this bike in my life, but it's time to move on to a new one. Just glad it may be going home with someone who deserves it.

Weeeellll....we don't encourage cruisers, but we don't keep them from coming either. If they happen to ride a cruiser but love sportbikes too, that's the real idea behind it and it's to hopefully convert a few of the women once they see how many women ride sportbikes. tpoppa, yeah, it used to belong to Stan (the man) and then I bought it from him in 2003. simply, I'd say maybe 34-38 somewhere. Not sure. More than willing to let you try them on to see if they fit ya.

The zipper still works, but could use a new one just to make it easier to zip. Easy fix. Make me an offer, just want to get rid of it as I have a Kobe that I like more.

This was my first leather suit and haven't worn it in years. It looks rough, but will make a great first suit. It's a size 62. I did have the jacket altered to bring the shoulders in a little so if you have broad shoulders it might not fit. Make me an offer, I just want to get rid of it.
