I was there and I was in the parade. You may say it's not patriotic but say that to the vet that lost both of his legs over seas out in the heat waving a flag and soluting every bike that drove by.

I'm sure it's not that hard to find pictures like that if not worse from a car. It happens. Gotta try to be careful and don't do anything stupid. Otherwise it's just a day shit happens.

I like that a lot. Always nice to have the girl sitting on the side of your helmet.

This would be nice but I agree with gsxrnurse. I don't think people are thoughtful enough of motorcycles to not cause a problem here. I see people inching up into the box, or not letting bikes get up to the box. Whatever they can do to be one car in front of where they are.

A few riders and myself just got back from Rolling Thunder in Washington DC this weekend. We had a beautiful ride there and back. If anyone gets the chance to run route 50 south of Morgantown, WV off of 79 do it. That's a great ride. Just make sure you don't have to pee 10 miles into the ride like I did. Makes those hills rough. Still waiting on the pictures of the parade itself but when I get them I'll make sure I post them. We were in the first parking lot of 3. We waited 2 hours before we even thought about starting our bikes up. We got to find some shade and sat and played some cards while we waited. We were lucky enough to pick a spot with a full dress Harley behind us who had a great mix of music. The parade itself wasn't bad. We did the Yellow Ribbon ride in the morning and had cars trying to merge into the line of bikes. That wasn't fun but other than that it was a good parade. Rolling Thunder itself was great. Everyone was out in DC for it. Made me feel really good to see that many people out supporting the riders and their country. Now I have to try to get my head to stop vibrating and return to my daily life.

Have to agree with this. You do not need to be offering to protect and/or server anyone unless you are willing to sacrifice a little bit. Your oath is an oath because you cannot break it. You don't take an oath because you get to follow it whenever you want. I don't care if you're a rent a cop at a mall. You need to set the example, and if you're willing to argue this you have no right to get upset when someone doesn't show law enforcement the proper respect.

I've got an old 81 Honda 400 I can get about 60 on. New Intruder gets between 40-50 I think. We'll see by the end of the summer.

Worst part about riding to work is waiting to leave so you can finish riding.

I just picked up the Teknic Kevlar jacket and I'm really enjoying it. Always check out the clearance stuff at IP just in case. They've got some great deals. Especially if you have a tiny head for helmets.

What bag are you trying to use? I've got a nice Swiss bag that is comfortable as hell. Never have a problem with it.

Might wanna sign up for the course now for next year. They are pretty much booked up now. Might help offering to take the course with her too.
