  1. Do you know the guy personally? Maybe...he doesn't know how to properly ride the bike? lol. :D If that is the case, 200hp for 145 mph is a little sad. I love the old ones too. I'm not not an exhaust guy, so wouldn't know.

    Did it look like this...or?

Did it at least sound good?

Oh I thought it wounded good, It was a new one for sure it took me a glance or two.

It was some Yahoo we ran into on the scavanger hunt on our way down to Dayton felt the need to pass us at WOT, so I bit, we slowed to about 60 and nailed it. wasn't ugly, but wasn't pretty either.

  2. Your saying the NEW vmax wouldn't go over 145? That is :(

I'm not saying it wouldn't, but it sure seemed to run out of steam at that point, I was kinda disapointed since my bike is stock :( I love the old ones, and had allot of hope for the new ones, he had cans on it at least, some fancy carbon fibre ones, think V&H?

  3. Oh it's not just the hill.... think about all the companies with "No guns" signs... it's ignorant people thinking too short term. "If I put up this sign noone will bring a gun in here!"

Someone told me a story about a town in Texas, could be a myth but the theory stands true. The local government essentially made it a REQUIREMENT to carry a firearm... think about it for a moment... If you KNEW everyone in a bank was carrying a gun, would you try to rob it?

Yeah I realize that, all that does is let the criminals know that their the only ones carrying in that store. If it was up to me you wouldn't be allowed in my store (if I had one, in theory) without a gun

  4. i just got my gf one of the kel-tec pocket guns. after shooting one and my dad getting one and my sister loving hers i figured it was a good birthday present for her.

    Really? a Kel-Tec? :wtf:

  5. Ohhh...trust me i'm with you on the Vmax's. Old and new. Love them both. 200 hp for the new ones. 17-19k bike though.

They appear to hit a wall around 145ish, and he couldn't keep up before then, but after that point it got really bad :( not too impressed for '200HP' considering I put down 153 later that same afternoon.

  6. Thanks buddy, leave it to Suzuki to not follow what the other major bike companies are doing, lol, I'll have a revision compatible with Suzuki in a couple days. ;)

lol How the hell did they decide to do it?

Also... I was wondering if there was any reason this wouldn't work on a vehicle, say a jeep with larger tires... I wouldn't expect you to put ends on it, I have Packard connectors and all the tools to put ends on I could just make something up and splice in a new connection.

  7. same here, there was some Busher Evo i think it was from cleveland that came down that was built to the hilt that could run with the big boys but I'd hate to ask what he had in it. Lots of Akron Horse Power guys used to come down too, they mainly ran 'Stangs.

I grew up at Quaker City Raceway, my old man still lives about 5 min from the track but this just came around and all the guys I ran around with went so I started going. the thing that got me was how tightly it was run. Safety was always first and I know it's never perfect on the street and not as safe as at the strip, but we made every effort.

  8. eh, not really around here. If you even wanted to think about coming out to the races bare min was 10.50's. high 9's was the norm and on the crazy nights you'd get the low 9, high 8 second cars out. As lame as this town is I've never seen a street racing scene like we used to have here and I've lived in Pittsburgh, Philly, and been to NYC when I lived there to watch them go. Some guys on bikes were racing and the guy on the right turned into the early turn around in front of the guy on the left, got t boned at about 100mph. that was that. Ended the racing from that second on. That was a mid afternoon race. had nothing to do with us, we ran that shit like a drag strip, no one stood in front of the cars, one way in and no traffic. Hell we even had a portable tree we set up

  9. ^-- that is baller, but for the cost - there are a lot better combination to get those ETs. But, mad props for being different and cool. There's a ton of guys that do that swap - I've seen that powertrain in Buick Opels, Chevy Vegas, and a Gremlin once.

Can I get another Buick V6 FTMFW!? Woot!

Funny you should mention that, This kid Kevin has a GN engine in a Vega  nothing serious, high 10's low 11's

  10. Whoa turbo!?! 9.70 is a big jump from 8.88 . relax its only the internet. And I would never doubt a pro racer of many years like yourself
not pro but I did build my first 10 second small block at 15 and made my first pass down a drag strip at 14 in my old mans vette if you need some credentials
.........Does brain tune for you to?
Nope just met the guy for the first time a few weeks ago, Someone in Cleveland did my T/A the first time and after that I started doing it myself
Plus you are a smart guy you know that a little money in that "glide" and its just as good as a fancy race tranny.........less adjustable clutch plates, lock up adjustments. Hillbilly huge power rules!!
    and your an arrogant idiot.

The powerglide has been a staple of racing for decades. I'm not gonna argue with a Neanderthal over the internet. it's obvious that you build 5 and 6 second cars on a regular basis and I'm obviously out classed. Your so right, there is NO FUCKING WAY that car has ever seen the street. nothing more than dyno rollers, trailer floors and race tracks. forgive me.

    206878.jpg9second+Mach1

Craigs Twin Turbo 9.90 Mach I that is street driven. He is co-owner of Street-Leathal Performance just across the boarder in PA, along with Terry another friend of mine that I've known for many years. That car has and had at the time the stock crank, forged rods and pistons, stock cams, stock heads, intake and computer.

[edit] that was last year on the F1 S/C it's TT this year putting down over 160 more RWHP

Just because you haven't built it doesn't mean it doesn't exist, I'll look for a vid of the 8.50 GN that rolls around here that is 1) street driven and 2) a V6, but thats even more impossible than a street driven 8 second car huh. I know the guy that owns it hes in the club but the site is down so I can't pull any vids, and quite frankly your such a duche I really don't feel the need to prove anything to you.

Speaking of Hill billy power this should get your goat, theres an 8 second AMC Gremlin that rolls around with the Mach I guy, and some of the other locals that drives from akron, to Quaker and back. Running mid/high 8's. but I'm full of shit there too.

  11. so your saying a 8 sec vett is a daily driver? I know a lot of ppl sweat vetts but seriously you think hes it driving all the time? And you think that power glide comes off the shelf able to hold that much power? Internet is funny I forgot how much fun this is!!

That's so full of ignorance and arrogance I had a hard time fitting it all in those little quote tags

Is it a STOCK powerglide, no. But it's a legit own trans, he's not running a Lenco or Jeherico or some fancy race trans. Do I think he drives it 20,000 miles a year no. But I know several 9.80 and 9.70 cars, two running TH400's one running a 'glide that drive their cars every weekend and several days during the week weather permitting. They also drive to the track and back, no trailer queens. With forced induction making big power is easy. But you knew that.

  12. Ya know powerglides came standard in quite a few cars, even vettes back in the day. They aren't a specially made racing trans. And hell if you've got enough power 2 gears is enough. I drive the bike around town in second and will use one gear for miles when it's stop and go.

  13. It's also not mandatory to skydive with a parachute. But again by the time you figure out you need the damn thing it's a little late. Never miss an opertunity to do something stupid, always wear your gear

My favorite response to the question 'why do you wear all that's shit it's too damn hot for that stuff' is, I'd rather slide than smear.
