  1. Just remove the shock, bring it to Pony on Friday when I am there and we can hammer it out quickly. Or, you can bring it to the AMA Pro AM preferably on Saturday afternoon and we can do it there... No cost. However, what spring is on it now, what is your weight and what is the spring you are wanting on? How do you know it is too stiff?
  2. You're a sales rep - rep. You need to pitch the benefits and such to warrant placing the product. If you don't do that, Chris isn't going to bring in something "just cause"... Do some work and present the benefits and what Amsoil is willing to do if the product doesn't sell or what will happen if it fails. Have a recovery plan in hand and base everything on the merits of the product and basis of how it compares to other products. Also, the cost effectiveness platform is something to talk about, too. If it is as good as you guys say it is, Chris is open to talking about placing it into the store. If you've grown this fast within the store after not being in there, I'd think you'd be able to pitch getting in something else...
  3. The key word here is "tried"... The CDale was an utter failure and Yamaha was actually the first of the big 4 to try out FI. They have been making sure it was 100% to their standards before launching. I am amazed at the detail and thought on this one. I just hope it isn't too much, too fast... GRAND ideas and engineering, though!
  4. Uh, penske doesn't need a spring compressor... Loosen the ring all the way to take the tension off and the spring will be allowed to be lifted up. There's a lock ring that needs removed and everything comes off the bottom. Replace spring with correct weight and compress with about 10mm of compression (measure the spring length uncompressed and then compress until 10mm shorter) and slap it back on. Actually, you don't even need to remove the shock to change the spring on a Penske - hence why they are so much easier to use than Ohlins...
  5. Rolling off is like touching the brakes. You cause the front to load ever so slightly and while leaned over so much, that's a bad thing. It's part of the learning process, but realizing that you as a rider caused it is the biggest thing. Throttle input is usually the cause if not trailing the brakes too much. The top pros trail so much in an effort to get that 10th of a second and they too crash as a result. But, understanding it will make you better. I lay big money on the rolling off. You were doing it a lot in turns prior...

Oh, I called on Friday and they are no longer dealing with Suzuki... So, sure, they are still open, but for how long? You don't loose three brand names for no reasons. Typically, the flooring is done through say a company like GE or something. When it comes time to pay the piper, they come and get the units. So, it wouldn't make much business sense to drop a brand like Yamaha and Suzuki (Wasn't there someone that stated they were the top Suzuki dealer in Ohio?) just to trim fat and expenses... But, it is probably what is being said to customers. They surely aren't going to obtain customers by saying "We owed a bunch of money and they came and took units and pulled our franchise." I wish them luck as I know a lot of shops struggling out there. As I stated before at the time of getting my ass reamed and personal stuff slandered and hammered, the strongest dealers will survive. The ones that understand, adapt and adjust will be here when the dust settles... The big killer is going to be those warranty deals they did. Until they close, they are going to have to honor them and if they cannot get parts from the OEMs, that means they will have to source from other dealers. Margins will be less and they will have tough times. But, since it was a Hind's service program, they are obligated to honor them...
  7. Sounds like he rolled out and possibly touched the brakes. Lowsided it...
  8. It isn't due to NESBA being more strict... Trust me. It's a Putnam policy and typically, if a bike goes off the track surface and crashes (handlebar to the ground), it causes a red flag... Even in the races held there...
  9. Putnam's policy is throw a red flag anytime a bike rolls off the race surface. Has to do with some deaths that have occured with bikes and them being overly safe... Will never change and even though it sucks, I see why and understand completely...
  10. 100% true. Not reqired. But, pretty ignorant to not have it when doing this sporting activity...
  11. Here's the skinny... If you do a NESBA or STT event, your insurance will cover the cost of damage to your bike. Well, they should... Basically, both orgs are track days and do not include information pertaining to racing. Clubs like Fasttrax, Apex2Apex, and even Team Promotion can easily be argued to be slanted towards racing. FT is a race organization and would be tough to win on. Apex2Apex promotes the racers and getting race licenses over most anything else and that would be a tough nut. Team Promotion actually has a mock race at the end of the day. NO WAY you'd get that covered... Point is that rider training is what is going on at NESBA and STT. If you crash your steed, Monte at STT will write a letter explaining what happened and what was going on for that day and telling them it was NOT a race based event or structured towards racing. They can see on the site, etc. As for health coverage, you really should have health insurance when riding a track in ANY capacity. If you get hurt and have to be transported and stay one night with tests, etc., you'll be racking up money owed to the tune of over $10k plus... Most transports cost at least $5k... As for hitting someone and they sue, it is really based on what you did. It really would be a civil issue moreso as you all sign a waiver that explains in detail the associated dangers of track riding... Now, if someone does something stupid and causes injury or death, typically the track or the organization gets a lawsuit...

It has nothing to do with rumors and more as to what brands are or have been pulled from the shop. Ask for Suzuki stuff, Yamaha stuff and Aprillia stuff and see if they are still dealers for those brands... I will call today and find out what I can, but nobody said anything about them closing the doors, but losing so many top brands is a sign things ain't so rosy...

Hmmmm... Wonder if Jeff is going to rip my ass a new one for forseeing the future... Maybe my sources weren't wrong afterall, huh? What is also funny is that some of his guys believed he was well set with money and was going to be around a LOOOONG time... What do I know, I live in the poverty stricked town of Mt. Gilead...
  14. Come on over and we can go over some things that I don't use at the track days to help defend and drop times...
  15. I'm going to miss Mid-Ohio. I know I am racing next weekend, but I'll miss the track days and riding with all of you there. Look forward to seeing most of you at BG and other tracks we plan on hitting next year. Some fun spots: Keyhole... Top of 7... Favorite passing zone - right before Turn 10 into Thunder... Crest into Thunder... Note the front wheel... Onto the front straight... Fun on the 1000 for sure! So long, Mid-Ohio... I'll be back as a customer and racing most likely in the future... The close of a chapter.
  16. Yo, Wheezle. Still have it. Meant to call today but got swamped. Will be in CBus tomorrow morning. I plan on being down at Pony around 10-10:30 and leaving around 11;30 or noon...

    I'll PM my number...

  17. Better watch it, you'll get bad rep points from the spineless wuss bags on here... Too wussy to list their names for saying their comments aren't exact...
  18. That's the rumor right now. Tedesco's contract is up and needless to say, he's not a top guys so... Shame if Reed leaves. He was one year with Suzuki...
  19. True that. Only reason I ALLOWED her to buy it...
  20. Track is safe in the dry. The surface when wet is dangerous. Hence the reason the AMA top riders refuse to ride when wet... Even for slower track day speeds, it is terrible when wet... Mid-Ohio will tell you what they want you to hear in essence, but even their own KTM sponsors and Care School guys say the same thing. There's a difference between riders/drivers and office personell... The stopping on track is what happens with new staff people that haven't been properly instructed or are VERY new and green at this type of thing... My view is skewed and will be taken as disgruntle for sure, but many of you know me and I LOVE Mid-Ohio and run pretty well there. But, do what you feel is best for yourself and ride or choose not to... In the dry? Great place to ride. In the wet? Stay home. Seriously.
  21. It's pretty idiot proof, really. The biggest deal is making sure you clear your maps. In other words, if you accidently "stack" maps, you can really screw stuff up. One of the best systems out there for the money.
  22. And, you are getting an unknown. They had a staff member STOP on track for an injured rider... That's a BIG no-no... These guys have been put into a situation where they have little to no time at the instructor level and have close to one or two days of track time at the facility. Which isn't a big deal as they should be able to adapt quick, but when staff stops on track, I am left feeling they are too green to hold the lives of customers in their hands... Buying all 5 at 15% sounds good, but that's still close to a grand...
  23. Could do it Wednesday when I am back. PM me your info and I can call it as dibs for you until you try it on, etc...
  24. I'm out from today until next Tuesday. I can meet in CBus Wednesday. I have MotoGP and a sales meeting to attend... I can call it as first dibs on you for the jacket until we meet. PM me your info.
