  1. I'm thinking Drew and I for one of the months. Anyone know of anyone maybe willing to shoot the bikes in a studio or something with a plain background....?
  2. My bad. Might have mis-read - I was thinking you were wanting to do Motorcycle stuff... Sorry. Good luck though. Sounds like you're doing well so that's saying something in this economy.
  3. I'll take May with the 1000 racebike. One chick is fine with me. Maybe dressed like an Umbrella girl?
  4. Your biggest challenge in getting info and pics for product is getting disks or websites that you can obtain them from. Are you part of a powersports network? Many successful dealers are part of that type of group and they actually help set up the site, download catalogs and links for purchasing, etc. It is expensive, but a serious website company needs to be able to get all those tools. I would also suggest that you look into drop shipping. I know TR does it as well as others, but otherwise, you are going to have to maintain an inventory... The successful online companies do both. After all, if I order something and you then take the order and process it and have to order from the distributor and THEN have it shipped to you and then to me, that kills minimally two days. You'd get your ass handed to you in shipping charges. Inventory and drop ship is the only way and too often, small internet only companies get into this with great intentions, but get dusted later in their life. I will also tell you that tires and closeout items can hurt or help you. You'll be competing against companies that get better deals than what is listed. Dealers that think there is only one "lowest or best dealer price" don't do as much business as some other shops do. Think Parts Unlimited Best dealer cost is what you get and is the same as say, Iron Pony gets? It isn't. There's better than that with all the companies... Good luck and let us know what you end up with. It's a tough market and hard core, but if done right, will net a lot of money... E commerce is the way to go and dealers that don't get on board are going to hurt.
  5. I like the term finger tight. Obviously not a genuine Yamaha Service Manual. I think Nate said it was 95nm. I don't know what everyone's finger strength is, but there's no substitute for a torque wrench. I was more concerned with the nut. It cannot be tightened with the screw driver/hammer method and isn't a good idea to do it that way to remove. What I am saying is that unless you have the proper tools, you really ought to wait until you can get them or get something that will work better...
  6. I looked in the photo gallery and really didn't see anything that I knew was from Ohio Rider members. What I wanted to do is get pics of events and unique shots that really tell people what we are into. For example, another Ohio based site is really more into cruisers, touring bikes and only get as aggressive as dual sport riding. It feels very old there. Here, we have so many guys into drag, MX, stunt, track, etc that it is fresher and more young. I think that demographic is what the target should be... However, I LOVE the naked bike look and even the custom cruiser stuff. I just didn't know if the pics I saw were actual owners' bikes or pics from places or shows from people not from Ohio...
  7. PM sent. I did it in Freehand and Photoshop. I can save it to whatever you need in terms of use. I am so used to doing things in PDF for vinyl people and what we did for my buddy's website it seems it is what I am doing as of late...
  8. If someone can freakin accept a 6mb PDF file, I can send it to you and let you work the magic so it can be seen better. I hate this attachment crud... Try again...
  9. Here's a quick thing I came up with. I like simple and to the point. I thought I would let the pics talk instead of a bunch of text. This is in PDF form so, it is WAY too big and I'm an idiot on how to post bigger vs. a damn link... All the pics are riders on here or things we are all into heavily. Road race, track days, drag strip, MX, stunting, get togethers, beautiful women and bikes. All are Ohio based and key things we have around our great state. Whatcha all think?
  10. They need some shots with some hotties on some race bikes. I nominate Drew and I as candidates. I think we should also be there to make sure our bikes stay safe. Ok, just to watch, but the safe comment makes us less creepy...
  11. Does anyone have any shots of crowds at bike nights or on cool rides like at the Dragon, etc? I need them for my idea...
  12. Hey, after Flouder did a stint on it w/o any lube and was acting like he just found that magic "spot", he told me to try it. It's only gay if you like it. Remember that...
  13. A KX500? Are you serious? They are turds. A modern 450 is a better choice. You know, like this one:
  14. "There is no such thing as too cold to ride a dirt bike." Dude, relax. I was poking fun. Poking fun. Poking fun. If not breaking out the 85, what else do you ride? You have stated enough times you ride it... You a closet adult MX bike rider? Oh, and for the record, I've never ridden an 85 as a 12 year old would. I've ridden them before when at the shop, but I was TOO BIG for them. I stick with bikes like my RM250, CRF450 (02 and 04) and my last 06 YZ450...
  15. I do. Was at my buddy's place last night. Looked at his AR-15, SKS Paratrooper (I think that's what he called it - black composite stock, folding stock, etc..) and his 4 different WW II riffles (German, Swiss, Russian and something else...) I want an SKS as I can't swing the AR...
  16. I know. I was making fun of you trying to sound all tough in response to Flounder. Adult telling another adult he's a pussy for not riding in the cold and yet, he rides an 85... Riding dirtbikes means you step up and buy something that fits you and is a challenge to ride and learn on. Pitbikes? Maybe flat tracking or at CRP on a 110 or tricked out TTR/CRF... Not an 85...
  17. Adults riding 85s isn't riding dirtbikes...
  18. Dude, I thought you had a factory service manual. If you don't, stop and go buy one. Now. It has the torque specs and such you need. They aren't finger tight...
  19. Dude, you need the proper tools for an engine removal and such as you are doing... Plus, it isn't just finger tight. You ought to be using a good torque wrench... That all said, I have such a socket, but what I have had to do in the past is make one as mine was being borrowed. Take a 20mm socket from TSC or similar. Whatever size you need to match the diameter of the lock nut you have... Make your marks and get a dremel tool or air tool with a cutting wheel and make one. Otherwise, you NEED to make sure that thing is back on there in the specified torque... Don't half ass on this project, man. Saving money and such is fine, but these things are very sensitive to doing things wrong and you are the one having to ride the thing...

    Waste Oil???

Have you tried the AutoZone trucking company down by Jeg's? They probably run through oil pretty fast... Sure you already thought of that, but ya never know...
  21. Honestly, guys here's the deal. I have a schedule that is PURELY tentative and nowhere 100%. Talks can break down, etc. My thoughts were if you all knew an idea of when works good, I can check and see what MIGHT be around that time.
  22. Question is, does it come looking like that...
  23. My 750 is sold. The 1000 is new and not for sale. Well, it can be, but doubt anyone would want to pay the asking fee... $7k is the price range I thought, no? I think for $7k there were a TON of R6s in that range down at the GNF from pretty reputable and fast experts. For that money, you'd get an 06/07 race machine with motorwork, and pretty much damn near perfect with spares for that...
  24. By the way, I have a pretty damn solid idea of what the schedule is next year. Any ideas of what month works best? I can get the dates pretty close if I know a month...
