  1. Uh... The very first post shows the pic... I know you're old, but man...:D:D:D
  2. Do we get to use the repost Family Circus pic for this? Already discussed... http://www.ohio-riders.net/showthread.php?t=18064&highlight=Pony The last few posts actually talk about it.
  3. I agree to agree. Agreed. Now, leave positive reputation for me or I will shun you!:D:D
  4. Wow. You're a Grumpy Gus, huh? Don't be so damn mean. Remember, Jesus Loves you. Fag.
  5. He's signed on as a new member so, let's see if we can get him fired up. Take SPECIAL note to the grey hair. It matches VERY well with his ultra cool Oakley glasses, no? I gotta kid him as he is faster and it is the only time I can get an upper hand...
  6. He was there for motorcycle input. I was to go, as well, but John (organized the meeting) did it last minute before Thanksgiving. Reuben was going to bail, but John paid him to travel and deliver his bike so, he caved (like a school girl) and went. Bastards. We'll have another few meetings, I am sure. Can't really discuss why the meeting took place other than to get a motorcyclist's opinion on certain items concerning the track and the safety to the riders. Trust me when I say that Reuben is probably the best guy to do this. I can contribute as I understand how things work and you don't have to be fast to know stuff, but Reuben's got ALL those assets in his possesion and could have done it solo with the owner and given a BUNCH of great insight. He's been to enough tracks to know what can happen and how. Overall, the bottom line is that the owner WANTS to cater to bikes. That's rare. Mid-Ohio has realized over the years that bikes are vital to their business, but it took years to gain that. This guy is at that point or at least a LOT closer than Mid-Ohio was when bikes first came around. I think this is going to be a great situation and considering STT is the offical motorcycle partner to Bluegrass, Monte will lead the way for them in getting some great things done that will be great for us all.
  7. Buy now, pay later is called a credit card. It's basically N30 or if you don't, you pay interest. But 30 days ought to be enough time. No worries - do what you want. But, in the end it sounds like you prefer online vs. local. No biggie...
  8. To add to this, the thing i find funny is that one, 85% plus of an HD is Japanese. Forks, electronics, etc... Two, most HD riders started their love affair with bikes on Japanese machines. For them to act like they don't want to associate with anything Japanese is stupid. But, to each their own. I worked at a shop for over 6 years that was HD, Kawasaki, Yamaha and Honda. We had to split the stores because the HD guys wanted to walk in the HD side w/o passing the Japanese stuff... There was more to it, but it was one of the reasons...
  9. +1 million. I have a 1000cc inline with 185 minimal hp to the ground (over twice the ground HP as the HD) and my torque over 74 ft lbs. Wanna run for pinks?
  10. Ok, look at it in a more clear way. Too many HD guys TRY and justify their bike's performance with torque. They rest too much on it. Sure, it has 74 ft lbs. Big deal. When it weighs almost 600 pounds, that doesn't mean a whole lot. When you have a Japanese in-line 600 with 110 hp at the ground and weighs 360-370 lbs., it's gonna cream that pile of shit HD. Also, when comparing to an SV, you give SO MUCH in terms of weight. Trust me when I tell you that the HD would get smoked by an SV650... Now, not really a fair fight as one twin is almost half the CCs as the HD. So, let's talk the Super Duke. Maybe the Tuono. Maybe the SV1000 even. When we start talking more like machines, it gets it's ass handed to it. Quit with the torque references. Please.
  11. But the thing is that you place the order and have to wait for them to ship it to you. Why not place the order at your local shop and have them order it? It'll probably take less time as most parts are ordered from PU or TR and have warehouses close enough that most shops are two days most for shipping... Again, it is the mindset that even though most shops do not carry many accessories, most people leave and order it online all the while not really saving any money and taking business from local vendors...
  12. Or, you could support someone local instead of going to the internet for spending. The deals on there are no better than what you could get locally. Plus, local support keeps these shops around. In today's economy and the lack of foot traffic these shops are getting, that can mean a LOT to a dealership... I understand that some deals are better over the net, but if you take the prices in and ask, typically, they can get them for the same price or a tad higher for at once buying...
  13. Which means about 75-78 at teh ground. Turd.
  14. My feelings off the top of my head are that they could get VERY hot rather quickly. The idea behind a larger slotted or vented rotor is heat dissipation (sp?). These are going to get hot quick and have little surface to allow heat to get out of them. I understand they have a way to track in the air flow, but honestly, I just don't see this being applicable for racing. Street and custom? Sure. Think of it this way - Kawasaki Heavy Industries is HUGE on airplane development and design. You'd think they of all the big three would have tried this in application earlier. I suspect they have and it failed. I just think the idea is cool - less rotation mass and less gyro effect, but in the end, what good is that if the rotor goes to shit before the race is over? And to the damage - makes sense, but again, to what cost?
  15. Let me guess... You don't seriously think it is cutting edge technology, do you? It's old school considering they are too pussy to slap the V-Rod motor in it and make it a legit bike. 90hp! NINETY. With the power to weight it has, it is the equivalent to a Ninja 500 EX... Wow. That's an arm socket breaker...
  16. Actually, he OK'd it with Monte and John. So, fire yours out. John's pics were pretty shitty... I knew you had better ones...
  17. It will be cheaper. The track rental is higher at Mid-Ohio. Bluegrass may become that high similar to Barber, but right now, Monte has assured us that it will be cheaper. Now, when I say cheaper, not sure by how much. I suspect what you'd pay at Putnam, Grattan and Gingerman will be a fairly close example of price. We'll see. All I know is that you should book that April 11 and 12 date asap when it shows on the site. There's a TON of people wanting a crack at the facility. Personally, I MAY go in April, but most likely, won't be there until after. Let everyone get some seat time there and I'll come in after others have gained some set-up notes...
  18. Short shoot between Turn 13 and 14: Turn 14: Turn 15: Exit of Turn 15 onto the front straight:
  19. Turn 8: Short shoot between Turn 8 and 9: Turn 9: Exit of 9 to the entrance of Turn 10 (kink): Turn 10 (kink) exit and short shoot to Turn 11: Turn 11: Turn 12 and Turn 13 - 90 feet of elevation change: Turn 13 - note the elevation difference:
  20. Well, they have a full layer of asphalt down and ready for the final layer. Reuben Frankenfield and a few other were in attendance to overview and provide input on run-off. Meeting went really well and the encouraging part is that the owner wants motorcycle input. They really want to co-exist with bikes down there. Absolutely beautiful track. Lots of elevation changes and blind corners. FAST, too! The facility is under construction almost daily as the owner is constantly getting things done when weather permits. Not rushing, but not sitting on his hands, either. Absolutely a top level facility and a gem in the middle of the the KY/OH valley. Can't wait until spring!! Enjoy: Front straight - going to be very fast... Turn one: Entrance to Turn 2: Exit of Turn 2: Turn 3: Entrance/approach to Turn 4: Exit of Turn 4: Turns 5 and 6 - Double Apex: Turn 7 - this is banked and set to be held wide open: 7B:
  21. There are a PILE of bikes out there well worth the asking price considering technology, performance, etc. This has none of those things and simply is catering to a set demographic. Whether we like it or not, it was designed for a set group. Apparently, your wife fits that demographic and that's cool. But to think this bike is worth $14k plus and saying that say, the new R1 isn't worth $12k is crazy... Technology is worth something. This bike is more style and function than anything...
  22. Free accessories don't exist. Free helmets, for example is something that is actually rolled into the unit price. It looks free, but you're still paying for it. Go into ANY shop and get to the lowest dollar amount you can get. THEN ask for a free Arai RX-7RR Hopkins replica. Good luck... Even if you get a rock bottom price, I am willing to bet you get a Sparxx, Vega, THH, or KBC for free. Nothing you'd really want if you were a veteran rider. Newbies love it because they don't know any better...
