  1. "it" came up with? are you using a search site, or the magic 8 ball?
  2. wrong - what about the plate suggests i'm even married? On this site, I don't make it a secret that I'm married. I've probably posted my wife's first name before anyway.
  3. Ok, so how would I be implicated? it's my bike and my plate, but not my ad, not my address, and not my name on the check that was sent. Not my problem.
  4. I found the same $29 site, but you'd end up with my name and address. You can get that out of a phone book. Or if you asked, I'd probably tell you... coyote - suppose someone did 'steal' my pic above. what would this fraudulent ad look like? Unless they also stole my bike, I'm not sure how it would matter.
  5. I agree with the first half of your statement, but it's just as illegal if you don't get caught; there just aren't any consequences. 49KAV if anyone cares to 'play,' my signature tells you my name is Chris, and my info section shows that I live in Parma. I believe that's all the personal info I have listed on this site. Mods might be able to see more, based on parts of my profile that I don't display publicly. so tell me something about myself that I wouldn't want others to know...
  6. is there a compelling reason I'm not aware of to skew your license plate in pictures posted online? If you're doing something illegal (like parked on the sidewalk in front of the rock hall), I get it, but I notice that some people black (or white) out their plate using MS paint when they post pics in 'for sale' threads and such. If i can gather the information by following you, or seeing your bike in a parking lot, I fail to see how having it posted on the internet is any more 'dangerous.' am I missing something?
  7. shit, my dad just sold his GS500. welcome anyway.
  8. so for an extra $26, you could have ridden all day, with zero cops at nelson ledges? I'm just sayin'
  9. slept in, then drove out to my grandma's for dinner number one (at around 1:30). packed up by 3, and made it to my in-laws for dinner number two at 5:00. in hte process, I reminded myself how terrible I am at corn hole, and how much I improve by my third beer. home by 8, and read for school until after 10.

all this proves is that you get used to ANY amount of power eventually. with that in mind, I've consciously avoided buying bigger and bigger bikes. driving an econobox car makes my EX500 feel pretty darn fast. Riding my EX500 makes my 600RR feel pretty insane. I wouldn't want it any other way. Unless the OP is extremely short, there's nothing wrong with getting a 500 as your first bike. The GS 500 is actually almost dead nuts between the EX250 and EX500 when it comes to horsepower. Better looking too. I prefer the naked GS, but if people like GSXR's the faired GS 500 looks similar.
  11. careful about pissed off neighbors. My brother had his spark plug smashed (twice) on his bike. He had no way to confirm that it was neighbors who were pissed off about the noise, but that was his strong suspicion. replacing the obnoxiously loud pipes was a welcomed change. So was changing addresses...
  12. she is. got me AMA tickets for my birthday too.
  13. Wifey bought me a gift card for valentine's day - is there any way I can use that for an online order, or do I have to come into the store? order by phone would be a tolerable compromise...
  14. actually I might be with PETA on releasing captive elephants; not because it's cruel to the elephants, but because people are fragile and stupid. (some may consider this graphic) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=viti_JHSft8 there are tons of related videos that are as bad, or worse.
  15. i get them as well. If you register for any of their events, you're on their list (although I may have checked a box to be kept informed).
  16. Sounds like I'll run into you I'm also on an orange CBR. Welcome to the site. - chris
  17. glad you made it through. I know I've tried to "duck" under birds, and nearly wrecked trying to avoid them. I almost think it's better if you never have a chance to react.
  18. I saw this on my way to work this morning as well. I pulled up next to the guy to let him know his tail/brake light weren't working. He was appreciative. but my question to anyone who rides w/o a helmet is, "how do you check your blind spot without your sunglasses blowing off your face?" I trust my mirrors about as much as I trust social security to pay for my retirement.
  19. at least the guy is wearing a helmet. he might not WALK away from an accident, but he can probably still crawl... small victory?
  20. I'm not saying that the driver WASN'T at fault, I'm just cautioning people not to get all militant against the cager before they know the facts. the rider could have plowed into the back of the car without the driver doing anything wrong. The rider could have been making an illegal pass, and the driver turned (legally) into his path. There are lots of "could have" scenarios (including the rider wearing a fucking helmet) that might have changed the outcome here. without more details, it's premature to be placing any blame.
  21. where did it say the car was at fault?
  22. without knowing the circumstances of the accident, it's a bit premature to assume that the driver 'didn't pay attention.' It's sad regardless of the circumstances.
  23. and you don't think threads like this have something to do with that?
