  1. Well, after 2 track days, my cornering speed went up about 80%.... Particularly the harder corners when you really have to get off the bike to lean it in. A lot of the street guys will shit talk they ability, but fail to realize how effective proper cornering technique is. The take pride in their ability to race through traffic faster, which in turn is more reason for them to get themselves killed. I don't shit talk people, but if they start it, I let my bike speak for me. -ignore the accident thread when I say this. I stay aware of my risks, and ride within my ability, but ability increases with experience. I will for sure be at the track later this season once I get a track bike setup. If intermediate is as slow as it was last time I went, I'll join you guys in the expert class. It's hard riding through a field that has lap times 10+ seconds slower then me. I know the experts will put me to work.
  2. Thanks all for looking out for a brother. I purchased the bike brand new last may and modified it since then. Fortunately I have all reciepts for my purchases. All I am asking from his insurance company is compensation to cover all damages on the bike, more so if it is totaled. I'm not about to settle for a "I'm sorry, but here's a check for it's depreciated value" bullshit. That same model is still for sale on the showroom floor at nearly every honda dealer. Why should I pay the price if it was clearly documented, with witnesses, that I was at zero fault. This is what I get for actually stopping for the red light.
  3. Oh yeah, this goes back to the riding gear thread and supports my reason why NOT to wear squid apparel. WEAR YOUR FUCKING GEAR!!
  4. I was in cincinnati this morning and came back up in the afternoon to meet up with an old friend who just got a new R1. I just hope this all gets solved soon so I'm back on the road. Thing is, if I got a new bike, it would have the exact replica of what I just totaled. I bought it new last year and built it up to what it is. None of the '08 bikes appeal to me so I'll have to see how this plays out. Maybe another new '07 and start over with the mods. I fucking hate the time it takes to do all this work though.
  5. At 5:45 I got rear ended by a car on the corner of woodruff and high street. I was stopped at the light when it just turned red and he was busy checking his mirror when he hit me. So far, the accident report was filed and my bike is pretty messed up. (pictures later). At least I was wearing ALL my gear so injuries are smaller. Anybody know of a good lawyer in Columbus?
  6. You're gonna love the brake lines. Tell me how you like the levers too. christmas comes any time you feel like blowing money during the year. I got half my winter mods on. Drivetrain and rubber is getting ordered next week. I wonder how a -1/+2 setup will effect my bike....
  7. It's definately an arai. Only suomy makes that same visor lock design, but the vents are identical to the RX7. Very Arai.
  8. ha ha. True, but they'll crash as often as a Compaq.
  9. I should be down between 1 and 2. I live in the milford area if anyone wants to meet near there.
  10. Hey all. I'm heading down to the Nati tomorrow and I hear the weather is going to be nice.....64.......with a chance of rain. I'm game to meet up with some of you guys down there if the weather looks good. Who's in?
  11. You better keep a good inventory of spart parts for that thing. They break down frequently. -experience
  12. Great! I can't wait to meet the cast of this sitcom. Are they still open?
  13. That an unreasonable dispute. 1. Violation of 2nd ammendment. 2. Anybody who really wants to carry a firearm can still purchase them out of state or through a private sale. Banning them will not eliminate them. 3. I do believe if a person plans to carry a firearm, they should pass a throrough background check and a safety course in order to abide by safety and zoning restrictions.
  14. welcome. What part on the east side. I have a place in Milford but I'm not down there often. Once it warms up I'm making some weekend trips with other people from columbus to ride in the hills there and northern KY.
  15. So I could only imagine the type of disaster that would take place if they ran the track backwards. I wonder if they're nervous to turn right at intersections. Oh yeah, don't pee on honda signs.
  16. ha ha. Today was a much better day but I had to work through most of it. It was good to go hit some twisties again though. Bike is back in the living room again in anticipation of a shitty few days coming up.
  17. So I'm assuming you'll be ready to take some good trips on it when it's warm. I had my bike out the other day and I'm itching to see how the new brakes feel.
  18. ha ha. today that is. 50s this weekend. I'll say hi to your bike for you.
  19. That's pretty sweet. It's gonna warm up a bit this weekend so I plan on going out for a few. Get that beast broken in so you can work it in the twisties.
  20. WOW. They went waaayyy overboard with the gayness. It's funny as shit though that they got all those celebrities involved.
  21. uhhh about that.... I was out again today and LOVED IT! Well loved is relative cuz I'd love it more if it was warm and I could trust the tires to hook up just the way I like. Now I'm depressed again.... It's gotta warm up soon.
  22. HA HA. Your bike is still collecting dust over here. It needs some lovin, McLovin.
  23. kind of a late response, but I've found riding boots to be a huge help. The firm sole transfers more road vibration to me when supporting my weight on the rearsets. This provides a better feeling of being connected to the bike. I also feel like my shifting is more crisp. With aftermarket rearsets, the shift lever is stiffer and more crisp than the OEM, but the firm toe box in the boot provides more positive contact. Oh yeah, and the ankle support thing.... That's always a +. Go get some boots.
