  1. It's cake as long as you have a rear stand to remove the wheel. If your time is worth saving you the $30 to change a tire, you can do the entire job yourself in about 1 hour time. The bead breaker and tire irons cost a total of $40 and you only buy them once. (bead breaker is home made). I've changed my own tires so far and never had trouble with it so let me know if you need help.
  2. It was fun running into you guys out there. Sorry I didn't have to time to ride around, + the rain later that evening. I'll let you know next time I'm in the area with some free time and try to meet up again.
  3. I'll be down there with my girlfriend and we will both have our bikes. I'm looking to get in around 4 or 5, but if you guys plan on riding then let me know where.
  4. This bike will be going to the track within the year and I'm not getting the forks very soon. I'll have something on the track this year, but I don't plan on putting the 1000 on until next season, about when I get new suspension.
  5. I've been looking around a bunch for suspension upgrades and came up with a few alternatives. After reading a several opinions for upgrades, it doesn't seem necessary to replace the entire fork, but the cartridges inside. The two items I'm looking at are the ohlins cartridges, the Traxxion Dynamics AK-20 cartridges, or the AK-gas forks. Does anybody have experience with either of these. I'm leaning towards the AK-gas because they have the same technology that the ohlins FGR-800 forks without the $10,000 bill attached to them. The AK's are gas charged and precision CNC'd components for a mild $2,500. In comparison, the ohlins road fork is 3,000, the cartridge is 1,500 and the AK-20 cartridges are only 1,000. If anybody has experience with multiple suspension products, I could use some feedback here.
  6. I'm alive. We're having a happy hour at the apartment so I'm not on the bike today. I hope they're ok though
  7. I don't think I can make it from Morse Rd to polaris in 0 minutes, but it'd be nice. I can be there around 7:15. If not I'll meet you guys at bike night again.
  8. Hey nick, I may be down this afternoon. I'm headed to dayton for a bicycle race but I'll be back in the afternoon to ride some more. Give me a ring.
  9. it's a track day. Just sign up for the track day. Safety wiring is required for intermediate and advanced. I'll be there in may dude. I swear.
  10. That's a pretty nice setup there. Why are you selling the bike, and what size is the frame?
  11. www.corbin.com Kind of expensive but your ass will thank you....
  12. www.xenonlink.com These are similar, select a bulb type and color for the bike. They are simple plug and play systems. 10 minutes to install, 45 minutes to find a place to hide the ballast. I suggest keeping it to a low beam unless you redirect your high beam. I blew several fuses due to the power surge of turning the high beam on several times.
  13. Beats me.... Something about it saying SUZUKI on the side of the bike gave it some problems. I asked the shop what could cause such a problem, but they said it was a brand issue... Just some malfunction on all motorcycle bearing that type of logo. I could be wrong though.
  14. Yeah, we took 257 north up past 44 I believe it is. There was only a little gravel, but we had to slow it down cuz it was getting dark about half way up. We came back down 315 and stopped by "the development" to show the guys where all the crashes occurred last summer. I want to ride canal winchester sometime for an afternoon sometime. I put something together in the next 2 weeks if nobody else does before then.
  15. Thanks to Ninjanick my girl is out every day riding the 636. I think it's hot for girls to ride on their own. I know some of you have been out with us.
  16. Oh yeah, funny the gsxr started to break down exactly 1 year to the day from the day you bought it. Get a honda!!! JK, or am I?
  17. Thanks for coming out guys. I'll look for some better routes to take. Sometime, if you want to meet with the cincinnati people, I have a house in milford to stay at and we can ride the hills in northern kentucky. Just give me a shout whenever you wanna go out. I'll be riding again tomorrow night.
  18. If anybody is up for a ride this thursday, I want to head north out of the city to scope out some of the roads in Deleware and other places for good riding. Shoot me a message if you're interested. I plan on leaving from the Kroger / Applebees parking lot on olentangy and akerman around 6.
  19. I'll be there for sure. I'm off work at 7 and I'll be up there by 7:30. Dinner at arby's perhaps?? No line there.

  21. Can they be contacted through their website. My girlfriend dropped hers various times and it's probably be safer to x-ray it before making the decision to keep wearing it.
  22. I want more sweet twisties in kentucky. Welcome to the board.
  23. oh yeah, that other motorcycle on 315 was a girl on a ninja 250. We kinda chuckled when the officer told me that.
  24. WOW! That was a detour. Anyway, last 2 times the police came after me I pulled over. Both ended without a ticket. 1. I was accused for simply a 46 in a 35 by his radar. (For those of you who don't know me, I carry a GPS on my bike that logs my top speed). I walked him over to my bike and showed him the GPS with a recorded top speed and a time stamp and asked him how fast I was going again. He over estimated by 7 miles per hour and after making my point he finished with "have a nice day". 2. Pulled over on 315 for "racing" another motorcycle just south of lane avenue. The rest of the group I rode with pulled over as further up the road but in sight of the officer. After explaining to him I was leading the group and another rider kept people organized from the back (we have radios) I was simply trying to get to the front and regroup us after being split up by several cars from the 670 onramp. The other riders are novices and there was no intention of speeding. After he realized all this, he expressed his misinterpretation of the situation and let me go with no charges. I try not to give police a reason to pull me over, but when they make and excuse as to why (example 1) I'm an inconsiderate asshole and show my point. If I did make a mistake like 75 in a 55 (example 2) I explain the situation with hopes he's understanding. 2 isn't guaranteed to work every time, but I was cooperative with the officer and he made sense of the situation. If I chose to run again, I guarantee I'd be back in jail. There's a time and/or a place to speed. Normally it's in the country, 1 AM or at the track. If you race on the street, don't do it where others are in danger and don't let the police see you do it. If you injure yourself doing it, your problem. Injure another person, I hope you get what's coming to you.
  25. 1. Don't run alone 2. Don't run during the day 3. Don't run in a county where the police have nothing better to do but chase you... They radio EVERYBODY in the county to find you. August 20, 2005 I went to jail for running down 71 in clinton county. It made the front page of the Wilmington sunday paper. The WHOLE county was after me. 3 sheriffs, 2 state patrol, and 1 ceasar creek park officer. I got away from the initial cop, but due to the radio it turned into a god damn game of pacman on the streets to lose the others. They dropped my felony charge because I handed the bike over to them. That offense cost me around $13,000. It's not worth it.
