  1. Sucks you didn't get to get out. The water was alot more usable on Sunday then it was Saturday. But, at least you are getting it finished up. I cant wait to hear it with the thru hull. It already sounded awesome the other day. I was going to try and grab some video real quick for you, but was too late by the time I got the boat out of the water. Sounded damn good though.
  2. I finally went and pulled her out of storage. I got it fired up and all cleaned up. It was a pretty hard winter on it. Some of the embroidery on my black widow on my sun pad came apart. I will have to get that redone...but that can wait. Other then that it just got filthy...I mean REALLY filthy.

Running wise it started up great with no noises and no leaks of anything. that made me happy. I still need to go to the lake some time this week and check the timing. I got my drive oil changed with my amsoil stuff and still need to change to oil and filter. I will do that before hitting the lake.

    Here is a teaser video...

  3. Shit, I've been trying to find that out, you can beach the boat at Alum and camp?

That's bad ass, I may do the same. Is there only one camp area there that touches water? I drove through one I think late last year, on the West near near one of the overpasses (35/36?) Edit: Looks like they're all booked up. Would still like to know how tieing the boat off near the camp ground goes though, they don't harass you about it or anything?

(Oh, and Sam.... do beer and boobies don't need a new motor? :) I'd wait, just in case... )

Yep, you can beach it anywhere at any site other then the designated "camp beach" spot. There are alot of spots that have room to pull your boat right up. For holidays they usually book up VERY early. For instance, we reserve ours almost a year in advance now. Its hit or miss after that...but usually they are all gone by 6-8 months out, for the holidays that is. Normal spring/summer/fall season its not as bad.

What you should do is go there on a weekday and tell them you just want to look around and go through and find some spots you like. On the weekends they will either charge you a visitors fee, or all the sites will be booked and you wont be able to see very well.

Also, make sure you reserve online...don't try and wait until the day you are wanting to camp and go there. They will all be taken.

  4. Damn, sucks to hear about the engine. They look great though.

If I needed the cylinders on these bored out .5mm, where would be a good place to go? I need them done quickly...

One thing I have learned through my builds is that no machine shop is fast. LOL at least not that I have used. However, Wasserbeck in Prospect did my stroker for my boat and did AMAZING work. Definitely not the fastest though.

  5. I say, if you can swap it that fast, go ahead and do it. You have a little over two weeks to get the little kinks worked out. If there is anything majorly wrong you can yank it and put the old one back in. Since you will be doing the motor swaps leaving the engines complete, its not like you will lose the tuning on the old engine.

Where are you going to be for the holiday? I will be camping that whole week at Alum. Make sure you come on over or text me. You should be able to see my boat beached at my campsite to the right of the campground boat launch.

  6. I wanted to go out tonight and test the ski, it just took a lot longer than I wanted and I can't make it out tomorrow night either since I have a work dinner at Hyde Park :).

I just want to get back out on the water. How are the new skis?

As much as I love the water, I would go for a steak at Hyde Park over it any day. ;)

The new skis are great. I have one completely stripped and sanded ready to prime and paint. Just waiting for the right day (a day with some time) to paint. I cant wait until I am done with them. They are pretty fun little skis. Good basic things just to tool around on. I will probably upgrade to a pair like yours pretty soon as long as these get decent usage.

You going to be out any this weekend?

  7. Will be cool to see them painted... do you use special paint, or just add flex & bonding agent or?

Special paint. At least the way I am doing it...

Congrates. We will have to go out and ride soon.

    Absolutely.

  8.

I orded the new part and the ski should be on the water in a week or so.

EDIT: I thought, I would leave this here since everyone seems to believe everything they read on the internet.

LOL You mean its not sunk??? LOL I figured not.

I can't wait to get them out. Seriously, let me know next time you go out. I want to come too.

  9. I took the ski out today and only had it on the water for about 5 minutes before the bellow blew apart and the ski almost sank.

I didn't even get to make a high speed run before the bellow went. I turned the GPS on and about 30 seconds later it burst. After I got the ski to shore and back on the trailer I did see I managed to his 71.1 on GPS I have a long way to go.

I orded the new part and the ski should be on the water in a week or so.

Damn! At least you were able to get it back to shore before things went really bad. 71.1 is still amazing. I can't wait to see what it can do.

Let me know next time you are going out there. I will will bring something out too. Always nice to have another with you when testing...just in case.

  10. With gas prices soaring, I decided to get something to use with the Formula so I don't have to run it all day.

They are Yamaha Wave Raiders. I know they are not the newest or fastest by far, but they run amazing and I was actually able to move quite a bit faster then I though they would. I will actually be a contender for some peoples boats on here!! I will just say 50+

These are pics from when I got them. I had already stripped the stickers off of one. I am painting them to match my boat.

So, they will be black on bottom up to the rub rail then silver up top with a black stripe up the middle on the raised section and a black seat. Graphics on it will be the simple Yamaha and tuning forks emblems on the sides and the names on the back. That's probably going to be about it. Decals, of course, are being done by Tommy at Total Sign.

Anybody mind doing some photoshop for me??

  11. Engine hoist an tow straps will work in a pinch too.

    What did u get?

That's what I have been thinking about. I was just really wanting something that held it more stable. I will be under it sanding and getting it ready for paint.

They are just 2 Yamaha WaveRaiders. Nothing special, but run great and float. LOL. I have the Formula for fast fun. These are just something else to use too.

I am painting them to match the boat.

Pull their trailer up on ramps?

I wish. Unfortunately I need them completely off the bunks. Thanks though.

  12. Occupation: USAF Security Forces

Make sure you find out how this can affect any clearances you have. Back when I had to get my clearance in the Marines, I know my credit history played a HUGE part in it...luckily I had no issues.

Maybe it has changed since then though.
