  1. I had a NICE one for my boat, but it disappeared....so I need another one. It needs to have a rca output for subs, only one needed. I would *like* for it to have the ability to control a ipod from the actual unit. If it doesn't have this it must have an aux in.

Let me know what you have and the model and or a pic. Also, a price please. Looking to buy in the next couple days. I'm bringing the boat home tomorrow and need to get the stereo installed.

    Let me know. Thanks.

  2. Right now it runs at about 5400 at about 38-40 MPH with it trimmed all the way down. If nobody has one then any suggestions on what to get would be helpful as well.

Ummm, you do know you START with the trim down then trim up...right?

Have you ever had a boat before? Or used one....regularly? Not a big deal if you haven't, but let us know and we can help you. These types of mistakes can add up.

Anyway, what size prop is on it now? Without trimming properly, it is hard to know what your rpm and speed actually is while under way...

We can start with these questions, then help you from there.

  3. I like it as well. Thought about doin it to my boat but the water here is not the clearest so I dunno how well it would work.

I can see it coming in handy when at the dock aswell.

These are kinda what I have been thinking. There is a set that attach to the trim tabs I have been thinking about. I just don't know if they are worth it in our water....

Oh and yes, the strobes are stupid.

  4. Got one you can use, but it's in Delaware and I'd like it if someone I know can vouch for you.

I think you and I went riding together one day? We met up at Hoblicks? If that wasn't you, there are plenty here that can vouch for me....when it's not 3:30am :D

I think that was you though. I have the VROD.

  5. Mine will be slowest, I cant build up any HP. It really needs fixed this year.

Yes, we really need to get it fixed! Let me know if you want me to come help...or just hang out while you do it.

Matt, I prolly will have to do the same outta the hole. I dunno how much hp a alpha can hold. I thought somewhere I read 400hp but I am not 100% on that. I am actually now talking to the guy that built that triple digit boat. He is telling me 70+ mph should no issue on my boat with 375hp. Hopefully the motor will make that which I think it should with no problems.

I have read 350 in some places 400 in others...but I see 350 the most lol.

It is definitely the hole shot that kills them and the temps from high revs. There was not much left of mine when I tried to launch it hard once to see what it could do. Never even made it on plane before horrible horrible noises. I will baby the new one out of the hole to make it last.

Any idea how much your boat weighs?

Into the 70's will make me happy with mine. If I keep it around I will definitely add a blower and Bravo swap. The Bravo will be this winter if I decide to keep it around a while. If I end up moving to Florida or Arizona, I will sell this and upgrade to a 29'+ I should know by the end of summer.

  6. Even though I prolly will be the slowest this yr outta us I am still gonna give er hell. I figured drop the built vortec in this year, add blower next, hurt Tommys feelings on the water.

Don't be quite so sure, mine is HEAVY as fuck. Formula has always been on the comfortable/luxury side of performance...so I have alot of ground to make up. That coupled with the fact my power is way beyond an Alphas capability, I have to baby it out of the hole and again...make up ground. Hell, I already killed one alpha.

I should still be a contender though. Just not as much as one might expect. Just took lots of time and money to get it there.

    Or, I'm sandbagging everybody. :D

    (not really though)

  7. I need to take the ball off and turn it around. Could that be what was causing it to move around so much?

    YES!

It could be. That boat looks really big to have a single axle trailer.... Only towed once with a single axle trailer and it sucked! Difficult to control and you always knew it was there (trying to kill you)! 2-3 axle trailers only for me from now on.

    This too!

Making it level will help a hell of alot though.

  8. You can kick in a lil extra for the Amsoil. I think it is about $18 more.

 Awesome! My group will be there anyway (Proprietors), I guess I will have to dig the VROD out for this. I will definitely pay the upgrade for the Amsoil.

    See you guys soon! :D

  9. I know you did, but our schedules can never line up right. How long have I been trying to get the drive shower?

If this one doesn't work we will make it happen. I think I will need a mirage plus anyway instead of my regular mirages.

  10. Tommy has me a 23. I am gonna try it out and see how it works. I got a complete vortech 350 coming for free. Gonna work that motor over and drop it in I hope by April 1st. Hoping for mid to upper 60's this yr. Maybe flirt with 70.

Sounds good. If you feel like you can go more, the one I will be playing with this year will be a 25, you are welcome to use that too if needed. I'm hoping this will be the last one I need, prop guessing is getting expensive.

You decide on a shopping list for your engine yet? Or are you going to do that same build as the "triple digits" project? Either way, cant wait to see it.

    Come on 70 degrees!!

  11. Cleetus.
