  4. Glad you're on the right track and wish you a speedy recovery. I have something similar looking in my leg. Watch out for metal detectors.

  7. I think he was considering Ford, and had pretty good logic behind his thoughts. I'm sure he will share.

  9. He actually wants to get it made into a poster for himself!
  10. Wow, sounds like you were in Columbus. I think we have more cops here than most entire states have.. At least you didn't get a ticket.

  14. My responses are in blue Assembly and prep are two different things. We pay CA to assemble, store, and ship our bikes to us. They are not "prepped" when we get them at that point, they are simply built. We then pay our service department 1/4 -1 full hour of the labor rate plus supplies (which is not much) when it's sold to make that bike ready to be ridden. We are not in business to rip off our customers. We are in business to make a profit though, and you know how little mark up is truly in new motorcycles. We accurately disclose any and all fees involved with any sale, and in no way attempt to deceive anyone. We have sold several members of this board bikes this summer, I have always taken good care of them. I believe every one of them received a very good deal and left happy.

You are open and honest because you are a good person with honorable intentions. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for many others... And I don't understand what you mean by "wasting time" on OR??
  17. $252 is a rip off, I agree. However that is the actual cost we pay to get that unit to us from Yamaha, then have CA build it and get it to us. We are not over charging here, and we always disclose that cost whenever prices are quoted and/or advertised. We absolutely do not try to bait people in with a lower price, only to hit them with addtional charges later. The frieght charge obviously varies from unit to unit, but is never more than $290, and again, it's never more than our actual cost. We do not charge any type of prep fee however. The maximum allowed for doc fees in Ohio is $250. We are one of the only dealers around (Columbus) to charge less.

As I said the other day when we were talking about this, I think the reasons a guy would lie to you about having myspace/facebook is simply because he's hiding something, or doesn't want you to know too many details about his life. Some profiles are very personal, others are very generic, but either way there is most likely some revealing information to be learned. It could just be something really silly and trivial such as a favorite color, or it could be just the opposite and have pics of him with his wife, 2.5 kids, and the dog insde the white picket fence..
  19. I absolutely agree. The 2001-2005 are a bit more touring friendly and the 2006-present are a bit sportier. My 2008 is reasonably fast, much more comfortable than a full fairing sportbike, and actually handles well also. It could definitely benefit from some suspension work, as it is somewhat harsh and with limited adjustment. It's just a great all around street bike.
