Fuck 2 strokes. Look for a 2003 or newer 250 4 stroke. (YZF, RMZ, KXF, CRF) Not a lot of maintenance, plenty of power at any RPM, and easy to ride in alomst all conditions.

Oh yeah, the bike is totalled.

Well, I just talked to him, his front end washed out on gravel. He broke a couple ribs, collapsed a lung, and did some damage to his spleen. Was in the hospital for a few days but is ok now.

The 03 actually only has 44 hp. The 04 and newer Aero's and 07 shaft drive Spirits have 46

Nope. They share the same motor, (basically) but different everything else.

The 750 Aero is not any smaller than the 1100's. The 750 Spirit is a little smaller.

The BMV will tell her to add the value of the bike she's giving her plus the cash, then pay tax on that amount.

That's not what it's saying. Only when trading used for new do you pay tax on the difference. Used for used, the entire amount is taxable.
