Yeah, I would say that we should just bomb places with Ohioriders stickers, but then it may just flood the forum with dumbasses. We need somewhere that we can recruit members that dont have their heads up their asses. Maybe we just need to take the risk and post up flyers at all the local bike shops and hangout places...

No matter how the site is promoted you always run the risk of dumbasses joining. However with the people that are on this forum i know there would not be an issue telling that person they are an asshole and after so much shit they would leave. Basically I say fuck it run the risk and then run damage control by letting people know if they are a dick.

Im going to try to get in on the March of Dimes ride on March 30th (depending on weather). From what ive heard it leaves out of Parmatown mall.

as soon as this guy took off it was the officers duty to protect, and make sure no bystanders were hurt. it is a judgement call.

The passenger was a bystander, she had no control over the situation, the officer didnt do too good of a job protecting her.

I have a cruiser and i do wave to everyone and i have noticed that 8 out of 10 sport bike riders will wave back but only maybe 5 out of 10 harley riders will wave back, and almost all jap cruisers will wave back. I dont care what people ride, hell this forum is 99% sport bike riders and i have a cruiser big fuckin deal we all ride we all have fun so who gives a shit what we ride.

A harley rider that doesnt like jap bike riders is like a ford owner cutting someone off just because they drive a toyota.

How can hitting a curb end up being fatal while in a motorcade? Does the motorcade travel fast enough to make a fall fatal? Or do u think there might be a few more details to the accident that havnt been released yet?

I agree with all that, but I was wondering if anyone had any hard numbers or spec sheets for forks -- I can't find any (admittedly I haven't looked that hard), but I suppose that the hard numbers lie as classified information inside the manufacturers of the bike and suppliers of the forks. Given the second-order nature of hydraulically damped suspension, I'd even settle for a Force vs. Displacement curve.

Using the 'busa as an example, which has a 24º rake. If the bike is 550lbs with fluids and you assume the claimed 49R/51F weight distribution = 281lbs on the front wheel at the "zero" point, which at 24º rake is 307lbs [281/cos(24º)] total force (281lbs normal force, and 26lbs horizontal force holding the tire in front of the bike).

With a rider, mass becomes 383lbs at the front wheel = 419lbs total force.

Rim + Tire size = 20.3" diameter [17" rims + 120mm*0.7 aspect ratio then convert to inches]

If the pothole is 3" deep, the angle of attack becomes 31º above the ground plane (according to AutoCAD); although the bike won't be level which will reduce the rake ~ 3º over the wheelbase = 21º

If the pothole is 6" deep, the angle becomes 44º; yet again, the 6" will affect the 'level' of the bike and decrease the rake effectively ~ 6º = 18º

Of course you have to take into account the weight distribution has shifted (Front tire in pot hole will load the bike more on the front, when the rear tire is on "level" ground)

At 70mph, the bike has a momentum of 750lbs*70mph = 52500 lbs*mph (p=mv). Now let's assume the front tire is in the 6" pothole, and the weight ratio is now 30R/70F; therefore the front tire has momentum of 36750 lbs*mph and it will be looking to maintain momentum throughout the pothole event.

The bike must cover 1209600 lbs*in/s2 (front wheel gravity force over 6" vertical) in a distance of 8.67 in @ 70mph (1231.92 in/s) or in 0.007seconds.

= 8513 lbs*in/s (upward force); and since I don't know the spring rate / dampening, I can't solve for the lbs force

= 8816 lbs*in/s (horizontal force); same as above

And now, it gets way more complicated, and my AutoCAD is getting squiggles everywhere, so I stopped.

Chaps are where i draw the line. I may wear the leather jacket and i may wear the leather vest but i will never wear chaps. My dad has a pair and he wont wear them if i am riding with him cause i rip on him so much for wearing them. However at least he's 55 and has a cruiser, i mean its still gay but its even worse on a sport bike especially since there are so many different types of protective gear u can buy that matches your bike.

I know how to do it but it would be a real son of a bitch to do. That would take days to weeks to make perfect, unless he has some sort of program that will place the sounds for you. From the looks of it he was using a simple mixing and recording program which is what i have so he must have put a lot of time into making it.

They did test pretty much everything on mythbusters. None of them worked.. and just blocking out 1 number wont keep you from getting a tix as all they have to do is run the rest and get the car makes and models and do a simple comparison.

I saw the mythbusters where they tested some of the hteories like tinfoil and a certain kind of paint and all that stuff but i never saw them test clear coat or a plastic cover. Did they do 2 episodes or did i just miss that part of the show?

I was told by someone with some legal knowledge that if the camera does not get the full plate they are not allowed to write the ticket.

i wanted to try that spray that supposedly reflects the flash back so much that its overexposed... ive seen sites online that say it works, and sites that say its a scam...

I have heard either a plastic cover, or a few coats of rustoleum clear coat on your plate will reflect bad enough to make the picture worthless. (even if only a half of 1 number doesnt come out they can not send the ticket.)

Hell go overkill get a plastic cover then put some clear coat on it
