  1. why are people so worried about mileage????

these engines are (maintained properly) just as good as car engines that you see go into the 100k+ range, you just dont see it often because the turnover is quick and people freak out when they see a bike over 10k miles it seems and drop the sale...

Dont worry about the damn mileage and buy the bike if you like it.

While I agree that 10k (as long as it's not 10k track miles :)) wouldn't be a concern for me (as long as it's maintained properly), I wouldn't go so far as to compare it with your mom's Honda that just rolled over 100k. An engine that revs to 15k+ is subject to stresses that a family car can't get close to.

  2. The 190 rear...what will this do for handling?

190's have a larger contact patch than a 180. But, I don't know if you'll want to run a 190/55 with a 5.5" rim. The tire will actually flatten out and your turn in will be affected.

If you ran a 190/60 or 190/65 then the tire will retain the taller profile but also be physically larger, effectively reducing the trail of your front forks. This would result in quicker turn in, but reduced mid corner stability. So if you wanted to run a 190 for the larger contact patch (more grip) you'd have to lower your rear ride height to retain the same handling characteristics of the bike.

Also 190's are heavier than 180's and you'll probably notice the bike being a bit more sluggish with them.

  3. I don't think it should be audible while rolling E. If it's up on the stand and you hear it drag, that would be within expectations, but not while the motor is on and riding.

I cleaned my calipers with brake cleaner and the pistons wouldn't retract for shit after. Spun the wheel on the stand and it wouldn't go more than 1 revolution. I swapped calipers and now it'll spin ~3 times before stopping.

Again, if you can hear it while riding, I'd say you have a bit of an issue.

  4. o there is still a chance it could happen. I know he doesn't inherit points, but with the way the seasons been the lead guy does not have enough points to have this season locked down.

to say there is 0% chance is wrong, to say slim to none chance well ok..

I'm saying 0%. I will wager anything that he won't win. Sure the numbers say it can happen, but it won't. Ever. Lets not get into semantics here.

  5. hhhrrrrrmmm... unaware of that. this could be very interesting actually, these new cars are very different from what he was used to last year then. but he does have a good amount of experience with low downforce/high powerd cars from his early years in f1 though. that should help him a little. but he doesnt have ross brawn anymore though....

    Testing ban :rulez: bastards

But he did drive it last year during the early development stages

  6. i have a feeling he will do well, he hasnt exactly been away from f1 either. he has tested all of their cars in the off season and helped to develop them as well. but he hasnt been racing them, and thats a whole different story as we all know.

He hasn't set foot in the F60 in 2009.

points wise he still has a shot at actually winning the championship.

of course a lot of dominoes have to fall in place for that to happen, but it still could happen.

There is 0% chance of that happening. Plus he doens't inherit Massa's points, he'll actually start accruing his own. So he has a lot of work to do.

  7. I used to watch F1 religiously. I was a Schumacher fan, and loved watching him and Montoya go at it. Schumacher retired and Montoya went to NASCAR, so I just kinda lost interest. Now we need to get Montoya back in F1.

As much as I hate NASCAR I kinda enjoy watching Montoya there. He's starting to get a feel for things and is slowly becoming competitive. Plus I think it's funny when he absolutely dominates the road courses.

  8. Amen brother! When I get home, I'm setting the rest of the races to DVR.

Where were you the rest of the season!? Most interesting F1 season in a long time.

But, on a down note, BMW said that they aren't coming back next year. While they have been stinking up the joint so far this year, they have showed promise in years past.
