  1. Cool. Somewhat related, I heard that the Polo might be coming to the US for homologation reasons for the new SCCA spec B class.
  2. https://negrielectronics.com/samsung-i9250-google-galaxy-nexus-black-unlocked.html That's the GSM version, will work on tmo and att. I found a discount code online for them that gave me $35 off.
  3. This I've always found to be the opposite. It's more expensive on the weekends, especially Fridays and Sundays.

  9. As your Government teacher failed to point out to you, not being a born US citizen I am unable to become president :fa: Y U MAD HOE?
  10. Well I have other theories/believes on why Japan/other countries do better on test scores and just have a better education system than the US overall. I have personal experience here because I've been in the American school system, and I've been in the ROTW school system for the majority of it. 1. The American attitude is the biggest problem. 1st thing I noticed when moving here was that kids are fucking rude, have no respect for adults and have no god damn manners. 2. Kids have too much freedom here. It starts with having no uniform, no rules on haircuts and personal appearance in general and ends at not having a good way of disciplining kids. 3. Extra credit is something that was new to me, it's a joke and easy way to pass a class. Before I moved here, you pass based purely on test scores. Homework doesn't count towards your grade, it's a tool for you to learn, not a way to accumulate points.
  11. Teachers obviously didn't help you much in the spelling department. :lolguy: Teachers deserve credit for what they do. The kids are our future and all those other cliche's, but they don't need more than what they actually deserve.
  12. But the point is, you don't have to know shit about math to be a math teacher. I bet she will be an excellent teacher. If I could deal with kids and their bullshit, and knew how to make learning hip and cool for them kids, I could teach fucking rocket science as long as I had wikipedia. Yes, it would be better to learn from an actual rocket scientist but they're too busy being rocket scientists. Teachers are teachers for a reason.
  13. 4 of it wasn't for teaching or math. It was fucking political science. I refuse to believe that it counts towards it.
  14. A friend of mine is now a teacher at Westerville (north or south, i forget which one) after taking classes for no more than the last 2 years. She did have some bullshit college degree prior to that, completely unrelated to education. Now she's a math teacher, doesn't know shit about math.
  15. Then according to you, there is something wrong with me. Someone that went to school for almost a decade, and countless hours of studying, training and preparation does not deserve to be on the same page as someone who went to a community college for a year or 2.
  16. So instead of trying to quantify something that can't be, change the system to one that's been working since the start of the employer/employee relationship. I know...easier said than done.
  17. No, what am I missing here? To me it seems like a pretty easy ride.
  18. Same way it would for someone flipping burgers, changing oil or pumping out computer code. I think it's pretty self explanatory, if you are showing a good "performance", your pay will be "based" on it. Do you show up on time? Do you know what the fuck you are doing? Do you only do the minimum? Are you taking cigarette breaks every 10 mins? List goes on and on... I don't think you should base it on student performance, because that's not the teacher's performance. You then also run into issues with teachers for special needs students.
  19. Meh, teachers are over rated IMO. They are just a middle man between a student and a book. Except their book has all the answers in it already.
  20. I did not know anything about SB5, so after I did some quick reading, it seems to me that it's a good thing on the surface. Making striking illegal, pay based on performance, reduced sick leave and paid vacation, not having to pay union fees if you don't want to be in a union...
  21. 75% of people drive camrys too. I'd rather be in the 25% that drive something nicer. Damn, hardened edition is sold out as fuck. Guess I'll have to spend an extra $10 for COD Elite. PS: BF3's campaign is pretty awesome.
  22. I just got into using Steam to play Civ5...still prefer consoles when it comes to non-RPG games. I'm on PS3, and I'll be getting it. I haven't picked up Battlefield 3 yet because I finally got the YLOD, but my refurb is coming in today. I have a feeling that battlefield will be more fun just because you have vehicles.
