  1. Instructors can substitute so much class for more range time to a certain extent I believe.
  2. Good to see our small community pull together.
  3. I didn't know that. Learn something new everyday!
  4. 3x9 is suffice. I have seen guys with really high end optics shooting the 1000 with a 10x scope on. I use a 6.5x24 on my AR and my 22 I use a 3x9. There is talk of a 22 Cal course next year at thunder valley and it will be out to 300 yards possibly. A 3x9 would be just fine for something like that. I guess I should say I use a scope that size on my AR because I shoot better if I can pick out a very small part of my target. Like on steel targets I like to pick out a bullet mark that is already on the plate. It makes me focus more on my breathing and follow thru after the shot.
  5. I have a crossfire on my AR and I really like it. They make good stuff.
  6. Everything is bigger in Texas brah Like a few said before me I've gotten it just as good before lol
  7. Prob a new handguard with rails if you wanna put a light on it. That stock will be fine but there are others out there. Go to sites lime ar15.com and look AR some of the builds people have done on there . That will give you a good idea as to what is out there for you and you can see how it looks on a gun before you buy it.
  8. I'm kidding 500 is doable by almost any AR platform and is a good starting point. Bushmaster makes decent stuff. I almost bought one before I decided to build mine. Just keep in mind ar's are parts guns. If you buy one you can use that as a blank canvas. There are a thousand different companies that make thousands of differernt parts. So buy one and start upgrading to suit you.
  9. Zombies are real asshole! I'm just saying you are more likely to pick up or be handed a right handed gun than a left so getting used to manipulating a righty is not something bad to know. Mine is a right and the only thing I wish left was the mag release. And it really isn't that big of a deal.
  10. Mine is right handed and I have no issues running it. You will be fine with RH. Plus if you think about in a serious shit hit the fan situation you are more likely to pick up a right handed one so getting used to running is not a bad thing
  11. What was the spread of a public employee vs private sector employee doing the same job I forget? I know they reported that a bunch. I thought it was like 30% more compensation maybe?
  12. As much as I hate our tribune they actually did their job on this.
  13. The second one Adam posted is that with optics already lol. And the aim points are pretty amazing. I wasn't sold on them and was always thinking I would use the eotechs but after watching some torture tests I'm sold. The only time I saw it come off zero was when they dropped it out of a helicopter.
  14. This is something I would do to my kids lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YQpbzQ6gzs&sns=em
  15. I know 100 was your limit but these are nice scopes for the money http://www.vortexoptics.com/product/vortex-crossfire-3-9x40-riflescope-v-plex-reticle
  16. I was in the truck all day and didn't get home from work about 2 hours ago. I wish I could have seen it.
  17. Walther called me about those a few days ago. Can't really beat that with optics ready to rock and roll out of the box. Sure you will wanna change stuff to make it yours but for now it runs and you got all the time in the world to upgrade it later.
  18. I was out in the truck today but I heard it was a sight to see
  19. I actually took my class on crutches too. I litterally hopped in one leg through the shoot and move course hey set up. Lol
  20. This will most likely be my winter project again.
