  1. If it's done on a Friday or Saturday, I'm in. North side of CBus would be best for me - Polaris, etc - as the hotels are close. But I can probably get into a flop house damned near anywhere.
  2. Agreed. Doesn't sound like as much of a pussy as I had initially thought. He might have to go to Rushmore. I was looking forward to an epicaly funny thread here.....and now feel cheated somehow. Damn.
  3. I like this idea and would say "I'm in" but I've already committed to so many rides this year - wife would kill me if I went. Based on that, I'll try to go. Gonna have to do the Touring class though as I don't have a small enough ride to be in the competitive classes. Hope last minute registrations are cool with them.
  4. Rolling / falling down those rock cliffs looked like no fun at all. Some hard core fuckers, for sure.
  5. I've been lucky enough to ride all of their Top 10. The few that I can't see being on it are : #3) Back of the Dragon - crap road surface, lots of gravel and not all that twisty. Nothing like the Dragon itself at all. #4) 555 - I think there's better rides in Ohio, someone should promote them a bit more #8) Rip - was kinda crowded the two time i've been on it Roads that should make it: Colorado 141 - best canyon road in the US. No traffic whatsoever Colorado 82 - Twin Lakes to \Aspen, can be crowded at times though Hell's Canyon - Oxbow, OR Idaho 93 - South of North Fork And shitloads more. But they;re mostly in out of the way places that the magazine guys either never go to or don't write about for some reason.
  6. No need to bring your sex life into a thread about snow removal.
  7. Let me look..... Doesn't appear to be ....
  8. I gotta read posts more carefully. I'm out, Won't camp at all. I totally didn't see that in the first post. Blind ol' bastard.
  9. Late August might work for me. But don;t make arrangements based on me going just yet. I have a big west coast trip scheduled fro July 27-August 21 with some friends from England - but that isn't 100% just yet either. Wish they'd firm their plans up so I can get going with mine.
  10. If you do end up changing your time frame, I might be interested in going. Right now, my May and June are full. But a later in the summer date might work for me.
  11. It's a bit of a hike over, but I'll host one at my shop. Have milling machines, lathes, welders and all of the metal working crap you'd' need. If it's only a few guys, could also get free hotel rooms for those that wanna stay overnight.
  12. It's not hard to find, even in news articles; http://www.indystar.com/story/news/local/johnson-county/2013/11/20/center-grove-proposed-superintendent-pay-would-rank-eighth-highest-in-state-/3654649/ This local school district is also worried about how they're gonna replace the astro turf in the football stadium next year. None of which makes the kids any smarter or helps them scholastically. I live in one of the highest taxed counties in this State and most of that goes to this waste of a school.
  13. Hope not - our little podunk county school district's Superintendent makes $190,000 per year. Football coaches make $100,000 per year and don';t teach! Until they learn some financial responsibility; fuck'em. If the levy was for armed cops in the schools only - I'd be all for that.
  14. I think it's roughly 1/2 of a kringle. The plain one, not the cherry or blueberry ones.
  15. The Illinois I-Pass is free, works on Ohio Toll Road, too. In Chicago, cash tolls are $1.50 each and I-Pass users are charged 1/2 of that. It'll save ya a whopping $3.75 per direction as we go though the Chicago area.
  16. I live about 15 miles south of I-465 in Indy. It's showing 187.7 miles from my house to the Petro Truck Sop, exit #157 on I-69. Riding to Chamberlin should easily put me over the 1,000 mile mark with a few extra miles to spare. Should be about the same mileage from your start point to Petro as well, so that'll be nice if neither of us has to wait long on the other.
  17. All of this looks totally cool with me. I can do cheese or no cheese - 'cause I'm stopping for kringle, not cheese! See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kringle Mars Cheese is about 20 feet off of the highway. I can stop by myself of no one else wants to and then catch back up. I can start the ride at any point and time that you guys wanna meet. Just let me know when and where and I'll be there. The BMW gets about 130 miles out of a tank when going over 75 mph. Sometimes over 160 miles but never over that. Fuggin' windsail of a pig bike.
  18. Pah! Piece of cake compared to Nielsen's Hamer....
  19. I have a Gibson Explorer bass (I was obviously into '80's metal at the time) and the body on that thing weighs a metric shit ton. Strap carves into your shoulder after about 10 minutes of playing. Lesson learned.
  20. And think how heavy that plank would be playing live. Fugger must weigh a ton.
  21. More of a bass than a guitar Looks like the top four strings are bass (E-A-D-G) with the bottom four being that of a baritone guitar (B-E-A-D). It'd be a great instrument to have and totally useful.
