They've always taken pretty good care of me in the past, whether it's discounts on merch or Service squeezin' me in on short notice to help me out.....but I was pleasantly surprised today & wanted to give them some props. Needed a new clear shield for my Scorpion helmet before tomorrow's ride. End of last season I noticed it had these lines/streaks &/or film to it. Tried cleaning it then, and scraping off whatever the film was with my fingernails....Didn't seem to help....In fact, may have made worse. Getting cold out, so I let her sit the rest of the winter. Figured it may have been from putting RainX on it the last few seasons, as I've heard from some on the XX board that it can screw up tinted visors. Took the whole helmet in to AP to see if maybe they had some other kind of glass cleaner/scratch remover that might save me from havin' to shell out $$ for a whole new shield. Jason, the parts kid/mgr, who for some reason always remembers my name as soon as he sees me and hooks me up on discounts, takes a quick look at it before I can even finish tellin' him what I want.....Tells me hold on a minute & disappears in the back. Comes out a minute later with a brand new shield on her, complete with peal off OEM label. I kinda laughed & asked how long Scorp warrantied those for, and he just said "Ehhhh....I don't even know. I just had a bunch of them in back, so it's no big deal" I also needed a new cargo net, as part of my old one burnt/melted on the can last year. He went in back & grabbed me one. Sticker said $11.....He rings it up & tells me $7! He had just told me their Customer Appreciation Day/Open House is May 31st this year, but I told him it must've come early for me today!! Few years ago too, before Jeff died.....We were goin' ridin' one day & he felt like his chain needed tightened, so I took him down there. Shane, the guy who's worked on 'Birdy before, stopped what he was doin' & came right out, tightened Jeff's chain even though he didn't know Jeff from Adam, then lubed both mine & his......For NO CHARGE!! I know some up here complain they're too high on their bike prices, and that they won't negotiate, but I can't complain about how they've treated me, and they must be doin' somethin' right, cause they picked up Suzuki two years ago, and I see the same kids workin' there now for 5,6,7 years. There's only been one time when I felt like their service quote was out of line, and that involved Sam & some custom rotors he wanted to bring in for them to put on Based on how they've taken care of me in the past....I always give them the courtesy of first shot at my business
