  1. Just got home - thanks for a great ride everyone! Also a BIG thanks for waiting at KFC for me. I was almost certain I'd arrive to an empty lot, but that was a very nice surprise. Other than that poor ZX-10 meeting its rather muddy demise (and me forgetting that 'ROUTE 62 ->' signs mean "TURN HERE, IDIOT") I'd say that was a pretty ideal way to spend this freakishly warm and sunny day. It was great to see some familiar faces and also meet some new folks. Hopefully I'll see you guys out there more this season! Now to tear the bike down and get everything nice and shiny for this weekends CSBA ride
  2. Welcome! Gahanna, eh? If you see a black Daytona buzzing around wave hi - I'm out in that area all the time.
  3. Just got the new tires on the bike - heading out shortly. If you guys can give me a few minutes to catch up at the KFC that'd be great...I'm not very behind schedule. cell number: three three zero, 6 zero three, 6seven86 Thanks!
  4. Well, shit. Was doing a pre-ride check before bed and noticed the first signs of what seems to be the end of life for my rear tire. I'm going to pull my wheels now and hope that IP's claim of 7-day-a-week tire changes holds true even at opening time Sunday morning. If I can't get that done and the bike reassembled in time I'll have to err on the side of caution and sit this one out :\ Really wish I had noticed this earlier today - what a waste of a rainy Saturday! *edit* 2:30 AM - wheels are off and ready to go first thing in the morning. As long as the Pony has a tire changer in when they open I should make it in time. DoHaveAKawMan, could you PM me a cell number perhaps? If I miss you guys by a little bit I can just head north when I can and meet up somewhere along the way.
  5. I'm in - no way I'm passing up an 80 degree day. Are you referring to the McDonalds just south of 70 on Hebron Road in Buckeye Lake? If you can confirm that before 11ish tomorrow I'll meet you there - otherwise I'll be at the KFC in Newark at noon. See you guys then!

    Saturday the 14th

I'm in as long as the weather forecast looks favorable tomorrow morning...
  7. I'll keep my eyes peeled, but I'd wager that its already being put up on Craigslist piece by piece
  8. I'm looking for someone to do a simple upholstery job for me. I bought a Saddlemen gel rider seat for my 675 and it came with matching material to wrap the pillion seat with. I'm usually a do-it-youselfer for nearly any bike work, but I have zero experience with this sort of thing and don't want to ruin this rather nice seat wrap material...or buy a new tool I'll use one time and put away indefinitely. The pillion seat is maybe ~14 inches by ~10 inches, has a pretty basic flat trapezoidal shape, and the new covering is pre-cut and shouldnt need any prep. For someone who knows what they're doing it's probably a very quick and easy job. If you're in or near Columbus and are up for this let me know - I can pay in cash and/or beer. I'm also open to suggestions for local shops that can do this sort of thing.
  9. I want a poster-sized print of that GW jumping the Delaware photo.

  11. I'll be there for sure. Been looking forward to this for quite some time.

    Ride Sunday 4-1

I'm definitely going to be out riding somewhere twisty Sunday, but so far the when/where/with who details are undecided. I'm up for southeast or Coshocton area, either is a ton of fun. I'd volunteer to lead but my direction-fu is very weak and will be that way until I get my GPS running
  13. I'd make some sort of "pussy magnet" joke, but the only thing my Triumph seems to be a magnet for is old men who want to tell me all about the Triumph they used to have way back when
  14. +1 for Paulie. I'm not even a Duc owner but he did a fantastic job on my ninja's forks. I'd trust him to do great work on any bike.
  15. I agree that it's a far better option to just buy a bigger bike in almost every regard. However, it's nice to know that sometimes people just do cool stuff for the fun of it: supercharged Daytona 675, 200whp. Check the main thread for build details, and the OP's youtube channel for more videos of it
  16. Got home a bit ago - that was a hell of a ride! It was great to meet and ride with both of you guys, hope to see you out there again some time.
  17. Heading out from cbus soon - cutting it a little close but I should make it on time.
  18. I'm in, even though I'm not a Northeasterner. See ya at the meeting spot!
  19. Had an 07 650r for 3 years - great bike. Never owned or rode the SV, but from what I hear from other owners and folks I rode with, it more or less comes down to personal preference - neither is hands-down better than the other. I'd say the biggest advantage the SV has is a stronger aftermarket, but its a case of huge vs pretty big, so don't think you won't have options with the Ninja. Buy the one you can get the best deal on, or whichever one strikes you as particularly awesome looking. You'll be very happy on either bike.
  20. I know that Exxon - I can be there at 11:30 no problem. I'll be on a black Triumph. If any plans change, post up here and I'll check the thread as late as 10:20 AM
  21. Wooo! Plans changed, so Saturday is completely open for riding When are you starting the ride? I'd be happy to trek out to Zanesville as a starting point - thats the price one pays for living right in Columbus :\ I'm fine with keeping a moderate pace - this'll be my first long ride on my new bike and my first real ride in about 18 months so I'm just hoping to knock the rust off and have fun but also to live to tell the tale.
  22. I had plans for Saturday but I'm trying to cancel them - the first long ride of the year trumps all!

    Geocahceing

I've been considering getting into this for a while. I'd be all over it if I could hunt down caches way out in BFE southeast Ohio - half the fun of hitting the twisties out there is getting lost and seeing what there is to see. Though this could easily lead to me trying to offroad, which would probably not turn out well...
  24. I can't wait for this season to start. Nothing like starting a Sunday morning with big plate of eggs and bacon with some MotoGP on the side. I know the odds aren't in my favor, but I'm hoping that ANYONE but the factory Hondas take the championship.
