  1. YES! IIRC, there was a shop building custom inputs for cadillacs with factory bose, it connected between the harness and the CD changer, and gave you 3 input options... my STS has composite inputs in the glove box, but i cant seem to change the source to that, even going into debug mode on the touch screen (poke top left, poke top right, back and forth 10 times) an aux input that didn't sound like garbage would be great. sorry for the :hijack:
  2. i'm guessing they are close friends/brothers/cousins... and enjoy belittling each other in public...
  3. ahh yes, we cadillac people suffer in this arena... on one hand, the stock stereo is quite remarkable for a stock stereo. on the other hand, better is better... If i'm properly informed, a lot of the electronics involved with operating the car are integrated into the stereo (why cadillac, why?) I had planned on doing an install on my 2000 STS at one time, but I don't see that happening now. When I get My XLR, I do intend on putting In an aftermarket stereo, but in tandem with the factory one, It still shouldn't be all that difficult... I understand your apprehension.
  4. welcome (again, even though you've been a member longer than I have.) nice zook
  5. Again, that is one account by one party involved, what about the other side of the story? Oh we can't hear him, he's dead... NOPE! I'm in this armed vs unarmed, 18 yr old vs 30 yr old... their ancestors country of origin has nothing at all to do with it. Might be about race for you, not for me. Split hairs much? he had no business chasing someone around the neighborhood anyway, he was not on watch, and he already called the police...you're not a cop, you're not trained... go home Definitely better, not nearly as excessive... Would have been much better for him to mind his own business. right, but I'm not pulling a gun on an unarmed person (I KNOW this because I'm not carrying one) I'll fight, I'll throw elbows, punch, kick whatever, but then I'm not chasing people around town for no good reason either.
  6. ... so fix it... that's a simple rewire
  7. Don't care... I have the respect of those who matter, and as for the rest, they don't matter. Fify, and that is one account of the events as told by 1 party I hope you've properly assesed the situation before making that choice... you might end up with life in prison. Which is worse? Possibly dying, or spending the rest of your life in a cage?
  8. I had a premier DEH-P9600 back in the day, best sounding stereo I've ever had.
  9. that seems to be the opposite of what you're sayng... I don't fear guns, I understand them from a physics standpoint, but I don't understand them from a cultural standpoint. I guess it could be as simple as a big power trip "nobody better mess with me, I've got a gun" I'm not afraid of them, I'm not afraid of people who carry them, I'll take reasonable steps not to get shot by one if one is pulled and aimed at me, but I think I fear guns less than most here. (as demonstrated by my lack of will to obtain and/or carry one)
  10. most of ashtabula county... might get it stolen on station avenue, or the apartment complex on 307... I don't go there too often, just because I have no reason to be there. However, I'd still feel 100% safe walking through either of those neighborhoods at any hour of the night or day... vandalism, petty theft, it happens from time to time, occasionally someone even tries to rob a bank on a bicycle, then cuts across the police department parking lot during their getaway ride dropping bills all over the place. shootings and murders are 95% angry spouse, and 5% meth deals gone bad, (even with all of that, murder is a rare trick out here) but again, I'm not a meth dealer/manufacturer and I'm not married, so I'm pretty safe.
  11. so why aren't you stockpiling nuclear missiles? you never know if the other guy is going to bring a tank, or an army, or an armada, you better be better armed than everyone else.
  12. I'm not trolling, these are my actual thoughts and feelings on the subject... On one hand, I respect the constitution, and your right to bear arms is clearly expressed. On the other hand, they aren't very constructive... and are really only good for one thing (causing fear, injury, and death)

  14. I kinda feel sorry for you guys who feel the need to carry a gun around with you everywhere... it must suck to live in a world that causes you so much fear.
  15.:rolleyes::rolleyes: really? Obviously I need to spell this out... If you eat too MUCH food, you can die... If you eat NO food, you WILL die... if you have too many bullet holes you can die... if you have NO bullet holes, there is no consequence.
  16. i think more people die from lack of spoons...(or lack of food) than die from too much of it... you can't die from a lack of bullet holes.
  17. Like others have said, no damage, that's always nice... Better than having a jacked up car with smashed windows and torn up dash.
  18. I'm just staing the facts, guns put holes in things, thats what they do... you guys can use all the euphamisms you want "neutralize" just means bleeding out.
  19. i'd much rather be tazed than shot... 100 days out of 100
  20. it INSTANTLY interrupts communication between the nerves and muscles... bullets have to rely on pain, destruction of ligament or muscle tissue, or bllod loss and fainting
