one whose engine was NOT solely designed by HD... aka, VROD

there's something to be said for starting your day at 80〫by the ocean, then riding up to 8000'+ to the snow for lunch and back again. Riding the canyons of Malibu has to be one of the most surreal rides in this country.

Disneyland in CA FTW! No humidity, and CA Adventure serves alcohol! While in the area you can hit up Knottsberry Farm (birthplace of the boysenberry) amusement park.

adjuster was out this morning, and he ain't real positive on it not being totalled....

Now going through my own insurance so I can get my bike back on the road sonner rather than later! Fucking State Farm bullshit!

Been keeping a pain diary since the day after the collision. Updates are at least every 4 hours, more frequently if pain or discomfort pops up. I work for the Administrative Office of the Courts, ie; me and all the judges in the state of California have the same boss. I have FULL coverage on my bike and unless I hear from State Farm (her insurance) by 10am tomorrow, I will go through my own insurance and let them bitch slap State Farm. Given the extent of my injuries, or lack thereof, getting an attorney would not be fiscally sound.

my Shoei RF-1100 was $125 cheaper through them than anywhere else I could find it. Great company to deal with

That night I popped 1000mg ibuprofen and a beer or three. Next morning my entire right side was aching like a SOB! Went to the chiropractor and have been 3x/week. Sprained left thumb, sprained right ankle, strained back, muscle spasms in back & chest, bruised hip. Was up to 2400mg ibuprofen/day until this week, now down to maybe 1000 a day. I called the chix insurance company yesterday, and it was the first that they heard of the collision! As of today, they still have not been able to contact her:wtf: Missed a few days of work, but definitely feeling better. ATGATT is the only reason I'm OK. Rough estimates: parts $3500, gear $1500. If they don't total it, I plan on doing the wrenching myself.

and it was not a crash as much as getting run the fuck over!

ride your own ride, trying to keep up with the "big dawgs" always ends with you and your bike in the horizontal mambo with the asphalt. When you're good enough you'll keep up with out trying.

Why yes, it does hurt to get hit by a Kia Sportage....

powder coated frame has huge divot & passenger peg mount bracket was pushed in about 1/2". Everything else is bolt on parts. It could go either way, especially once the HD shop gives the insurance company the quote.

open carry law ain't no different here than 47 of the other states of this union. I was even allowed to "import" my AK-47 sans Russian military issued expanded magazine. Yeah, they're kinda ATGATT nazis out here. Saved my life this past Wednesday though!

ATGATT each and EVERY day! Even when it's triple digit temps, I ATGATT. It's one of the only positive lessons OH taught me. I was out in the garage tonight and checking over the frame. Not pretty, not pretty at all. The section where the rear brake attaches is a bolt on and designed to fail, but the mounts at the passenger pegs show cracking. Part of me wants it totalled, (been drooling over K bikes for as long as I can remember), other part of me wants to buy it back if it's totalled and rebuild. ATGATT folks.... anything else is just fucking stupidity

6/8/11 Coming down the home stretch to my front door from San Francisco about 20 miles from home... Young gal decided that my lane was much more desirable and made the non signaled lane change into me. I did the perfect emergency braking procedure, but when the left side of her SUV ran into the right side of me, I kinda let go of the brakes. She continued the lane change not noticing she made contact. Bike is now in the death wobble and going down fast. Once me and the bike are about 6" from laying on the ground, I push the bike away and begin my independent back slide followed by about 20 side to side rolls down the road. Gal was really upset, about 10 cars pull over. Turns out that me and the bike hit a pick up truck on the way down when I ricocheted off the Kia. An off duty Sheriff on his Reposado pulls over and offers aid. aka keep me from jumping up too fast. Great guy, saw the entire thing play out from about 20' behind me. Couldn't pay for a better witness! The gal (Becky), is a rider and I had to console her to get her calmed down enough to give her statement to the LEOs. Accident happened about 2 miles from the local HD dealer. CHiP asked me if I want the bike towed, I look at him, walk over to the now uprighted bike, shut it off, wait a minute or two, turn it on, and started right up! Wouldn't hold an idle though, most likely due to the Thundermax not liking the new modded exhaust. Shut it down, for 30 seconds or so, then she started up and held idle! I rode her home, minus rear brake pedal (ripped off frame rail), bars pushed back about 3" and pinched together about the same (much more comfortable though) All painted parts need replaced, all pegs, heated grips (that I had replaced under warranty about 2 months ago) passenger pillion, 2:1 Wicked-line exhaust, mirrors, all signals including lenses,... But the engine brought me home at 90mph Shoei RF-1100 helmet: $500 Fieldsheer textile jacket $300 Firstgear textile pants: $150 Icon Timax shorty gloves: $180 Sidi Canyon Gortex boots: $300 Riding my bike home after getting hit by an SUV and doing an asphalt tuck & roll & slide for 20 yards... PRICELE$$ PIX HERE! __________________

not to mention that water is balls COLD right now. If he walked in he could have walked out!
-
if you get the "wobbles" at 25mph and damn near kill yourself in the process, the bike is NOT the problem. Your non riding simple ass IS the problem
-
I think the statement "the bike pays for itself" isn't quite as broad as you interpret it. For most, if taking the car to work for the week costs you $200 and taking the bike for the week cost you $75, they see that as they just saved $125 that week.

If Kermit & Miss Piggy had kids, would they taste like chicken or bacon?

do you need full blown CAD or would a CAD viewer suffice?

:wtf:think the news story proved that it isn't an exclusive HD thing.

soooo... Last I "heard" (directly from Yuengling), the reason they are not selling in OH is because of OH's requirement for any beer not brewed in OH to be privy to an import tariff. Most if not all other states, do not charge US breweries this "import" tax. Not selling in Ohio has never been about production volume. It's been all politics. But I'm sure the info gathered from Twitter is more accurate.
