  1. So true... Celebrity Crushes Of The 90s Posted by casey jones in Entertainment, Features on April 20, 2009 | 45 responses If you’re a guy that was born in the late 70’s or early 80’s, chances are the 90’s was the decade that you discovered yourself (with the help of Baywatch). There were a number of mainstream shows that aided in the formation of your dream girl blueprint. These are those girls. Pamela Anderson - Baywatch CJ Parker revolutionized the art of slow motion beach running en route to saving lives. Enough said. Cindy Crawford - pepsi commercial This Pepsi commercial is one of the iconic hot chick moments of the decade. Jenny McCarthy - Singled Out Not only was she hot and in Playboy, but she was crazy and seemed like a fun party girl. Plus, her and Pam helped you hone your picture-finding skills on America Online. Tiffani Amber Thiessen - Saved By The Bell Eventually you realized that she was the real reason you watched every episode 9 times. The entire Baywatch (female) cast David Hasselhoff’s casting ability deserves its own post, but to keep this one from getting too long, let’s take a group trip down memory lane with Carmen Electra, Yasmine Bleeth, Donna D’Errico, Gina Lee Nolin, and Erika Eleniak. Let’s also point out the lone female actor of the group, Stephane “no doubt natural” blank Britney Spears The pop princess that changed the game with her debut video starring herself and a schoolgirl outfit. Christina Applegate - Kelly Bundy She was the bad ass girl that you were too white and dorky to ever get. Danielle Fishel - Boy Meets World Looking back at Topenga, she really isn’t that spectacular. But back in the day, who didn’t have the hots for her? Amy Jo Johnson - Pink Power Ranger Hot superheroes serve as a boy’s transition to liking girls in real life. The Pink Ranger spent 30 minutes with us every day after school until it became embarrassing for your friends to know you watched Power Rangers. Alicia Silverstone - Clueless / Batman Forever While she’s known for her role in Clueless, she’s stored in my hotness memory bank as Batgirl. Christina Lakin - Al from Step By Step Ever since crushing on Al, I’ve had a thing for athletic girls that can talk sports. Thank you Al. Christina Aguilera She struggled to eclipse Britney’s shadow early in her career and eventually did that by being herself. Check out what baby Christina looked like: Cameron Diaz - The Mask It’s easy to forget that she used to be more model than actress, and what better proof than her role as “hot chick, limited speaking” from The Mask. Nikki Cox If your parents didn’t let you watch Baywatch, Cox’s show Unhappily Ever After is where you got your boob fix. It’s a shame what she looks like now. Janet Jackson Besides the fact that she was the ultimate performer - she rarely wears a shirt on album covers and gave guys worldwide the dream of being these hands: Jessica Rabbit Yes, a cartoon. Roger Rabbit’s wife was all kinds of hot and gave boys a tingly feeling they likely didn’t understand. Stephanie Tanner My crush on her was at the age where I anticipated she’d be megahot when she got to her 20’s. Wasn’t exactly right, but can’t win em all. Suzanne Somers And Uncle Jesse’s Wife These 2 made us all MILF-curious before MILF was a word. Admit it, you watched the same Thigh Master infomercial multiple times. Aaliyah I don’t know if any girl will ever be able to make wearing men’s boxers and sagging pants more attractive. RIP. Kelly Packard - California Dreams / Baywatch Definitely a sleeper on this list, she played the Kelly Kapowski-type role in the Saved By The Bell knockoff California Dreams. She eventually became one of the final slow motion runners on Baywatch and almost seemed too innocent to be on the cast.
  2. I've never player WoW but always heard about how obsessed people are with it. This is ridiculous! I mean a hut with a computer, monitor, toilet as your seat, stove....come on! April 23, 2009 11:01 AM PDT Lifestyle hut with built-in toilet steps up World of Warcraft game by Justin Yu The WoW Pod can be seen at the the MIT Museum from March through September. (Credit: MIT) As if World of Warcrafters needed another way to isolate themselves from the world, the WoW Pod, as described by its creators at MIT, is "an immersive architectural solution for the advanced WoW (World of Warcraft) player that provides and anticipates all life needs." Translation: it's an individual bungalow simulating the look and feel of an authentic hut within the Azeroth universe, and if you think the outside is scary, wait until you open the door. Once inside the tiny space, you'll notice that it's entirely self-contained, and that's to discourage the player from ever leaving. Almost all basic human needs are provided, including a throne that doubles as a toilet (gross), a cookpot, stovetop, and, of course, a computer and monitor for WoWing. All you need in one pod. (Credit: MIT) Most importantly, the hut solves one of WoW's biggest pitfalls: breaks. See, a quick pause of the game to take a break can be catastrophic to a player's avatar. Even a bathroom run or a simple snack can result in death, or worse, banishment from one's guild, so anything a player can do to restrict distraction is good. And here's where it gets scary. When a player gets hungry playing inside the hut, he or she just selects one of the prepackaged food packs on the wall (labeled "Soothing Turtle Bisque" and Beer Basted Ribs" to further the fantasy), holds the printed semacode under a scanner, and places it on the hot plate. From here, the hardware takes over and physically adjusts the hotplate to cook the food for the right amount of time while the player's corresponding avatar pauses the game and loudly announces the progress to others in the realm: "Vorcon's meal is about to be done!" "Better eat the ribs while they're hot!" When the meal is done cooking, the game is automatically placed in AFK (Away From Keyboard) mode to allow the gamer sufficient time to eat without fear of a quick strike. Once satisfied, the avatar actively returns to continue exploring, but there are virtual side effects; for example, overeating can result in avatars feeling sluggish and unresponsive to control. To me, this feels like a giant step backward. I thought online multiplayer games did good to encourage teamwork and build communities, but never in the name of intentional escapism. This hut is the grown-up version of a children's playhouse, except that these players will probably go in and never come out. The idea is clever, and I like that it provides and anticipates all the needs of a WoW fanatic, but I'm not whipping out my credit card for this thing. Can you imagine having a friend walk in on you using the throne and cooking food at the same time? Sounds humiliating. On top of that, the thing is missing the one amenity that ALL nerds truly, desperately need: a shower. And where is the throne for my virtual girlfriend to use? I'll consider this the preproduction beta model. Click through the slideshow below for more pictures and definitely watch this video for more detail on the WoW Pod.
  3. Be warned, unless you had a huge breakfast, this will make you hungry. I had no idea there were other kinds of grilled cheese, though admittedly, not everything on this list I would call grilled cheese. 10 Greatest Grilled Cheese Sandwiches Bite into this selection of gloriously gooey creations April is National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Month. That’s right: Someone (somewhere) has proclaimed this popular comfort food worthy of a monthlong celebration. Beloved and reinvented by even the most celebrated chefs, the grilled cheese has long-since outgrown its white bread and processed cheese days. Below, find a roundup of the best tributes to this American staple. From Tom Colicchio’s french onion soup–themed masterpiece to a fried-egg-finished fantasy, the following are definitely feta-than-life sandwiches. The $15 Grilled Cheese This stacked creation was born out of Ontario-based chef Randy Feltis’s adoration for exotic cheeses and thick-cut bread. Melted in between the garlic-, parsley- and butter-seasoned loaf lies a brilliant blend of brie, aged Cheddar, Italian Asiago and Havarti cheeses. Croque Madame A delectable grilled cheese sandwich coupled with cured meats and topped with a fried egg is one of the many appetizing creations on the menu at Campanile in Los Angeles as part of its weekly Grilled Cheese Night. Honey-Basil Grilled Cheese YumSugar, the savvy food column on the Sugar Network, made this delicious sandwich in honor of National Grilled Cheese Month. They crafted this stack of melted goodness with mozzarella, fontina, fresh basil, tomatoes and honey. Grilled Caprese This salad-turned-sandwich is inspired by Insalata Caprese, a dish consisting of mozzarella, ripe tomatoes and fresh basil from the Campania region in southwestern Italy. To this we say, “Buon appetito!” Photo credit: Shiv Harris/bellwetherstudio.com Grilled Portobello and Cheese The Oregon Grille in Cockeysville, Maryland—a quaint eatery surrounded by horse country—is responsible for this rustic white bread explosion, topped with Boursin and provolone cheeses as well as roasted tomato and portobello mushrooms. Stuffed Grilled Cheese Pretzel You can get six of these stuffed-to-perfection soft pretzels for $28, which sounds expensive, but we say go for it (after all, they’re handmade). Oozing from the plump curves of this toasted treat is real Cheddar cheese, which is also sprinkled on top. Gruyère with Caramelized Onions This simple creation is one of several hot-sandwich options in celebrity chef Tom Colicchio’s book ’Wichcraft. It’s inspired by french onion soup and contains Gruyère cheese with roasted onions on sliced rye bread. Reprinted from the book ‘wichcraft by Tom Colicchio. Copyright © 2009 by Tom Colicchio. Grilled Cheese and Tomatoes This twist on a Southern classic creates a grilled cheese out of a gourmet version of pimento cheese—made with Gruyère, provolone and piquillo peppers—and is served with a shot of tomato soup at Max’s Wine Dive in Houston. Revamped Grilled Cheese “The Inner Workings of a College Graduate” blogger, Meghann, decided to overhaul the tasteless grilled cheese sandwiches she ate as a kid. The result? Between two slices of Jenna’s Oatmeal Bread she layers Swiss cheese, goat cheese, apples and spinach—grilled to perfection on a George Foreman Grill. Mozzarella and Provolone with Roasted Tomatoes and Black Olives Yes, this is a thread about grilled cheese... Happy Grilled Cheese Month!

  10. Who remembers when this brick of a video game system was the shitz? Not really even black and white, more like yellow tint and gray. Kirby, Contra, Donkey Kong and Mario wooooooo http://news.cnet.com/8301-13506_3-10224930-17.html?tag=mncol Remembering the Game Boy: We loved you, man Ah, the good old days with the Game Boy. (Credit: Nintendo) The 20th anniversary of the Game Boy's release (in Japan, anyway) was Tuesday. Today, a whole generation of kids will grow up with nary a clue about what the Game Boy is and how it affected our lives. But the rest of us look back fondly at the handheld, so I thought it appropriate to remember our old friend. The Game Boy was created by Gunpei Yokoi, a Nintendo employee who had moved up in the ranks from being a janitor to working on product development. It was originally a simple device with a monochrome screen, four buttons (A, B, Start, Select), and a four-way directional pad. But over the years, Nintendo transformed that simple handheld into a full-featured gaming platform, complete with a color screen and outstanding titles. Over 118.69 million units were sold (including Game Boy Color versions) around the world. And millions more were sold in future iterations. That simple mobile device transformed the industry. It became one of the world's most celebrated video game platforms. But instead of getting into the full history of the Game Boy (you can find that on Wikipedia, after all), I think it's important that we explore exactly how it achieved that success. The Game Boy was, quite simply, the best handheld ever released, and for one big reason: simplicity. Unlike competitors like Atari's Lynx, which was nearly twice the size and the cost of the original Game Boy, Nintendo gave users what they wanted: a simple video game experience that kept them entertained. When the Game Boy was first released, the video game industry was much different. There were fewer developers, less growth, and some doubt about the viability of video games in the consumer market. The Game Boy changed all that and became a significant contributing factor to the success the industry enjoys today. And that's why we loved the Game Boy. It rebuffed the wisdom of the day and brought gaming back to its basic goal: fun. I can still remember the first time I laid my hands on a Game Boy. I played Tetris, which came bundled with the original systems. It wasn't sophisticated like some of the games I was playing on Nintendo's home system the NES. It didn't have color, and the screen was small, but I sat there for hours arranging those falling boxes just because it was so darn fun. I was one of many that felt the Game Boy was different, special. We all needed to have one. We all wanted to have the latest games. And we all swapped cartridges whenever one of us had a game the other wanted to play. My friends and I were content to sit in the same room with each other without talking, just playing a game on our respective Game Boys. You can't say that for many other gaming devices. Was the Game Boy perfect? Of course not. Its screen was small and its third-party support was a little suspect at times. The company released numerous proprietary peripherals like the Game Boy camera and printer with promises of building integration into upcoming titles--all of which never materialized. But that didn't matter. I, like many others, owned every iteration of the Game Boy and couldn't wait to fire it up each day. And though I always enjoyed the handheld's Mario games and playing Zelda titles, it was always Tetris on that old monochrome display that held a special place in my memories. And what memories they are. Happy Birthday, Game Boy.
  11. Kinda cool. There's a video of them using them but it wont embed here so here's the link http://graffitiresearchlab.com/?page_id=6

  13. If you are a little nerdy (like most of us on here). The only catch is to find a deal on the phone itself like this guy did. http://mediumjones.com/my-23month-iphone/249 My $23/month iPhone Acquiring the iPhone So a while back I was lucky enough to acquire an unlocked iPhone 2g for a killer deal from a good friend who upgraded to the 3g. I decided there was no way I was going to pay the $65/month voice & data + 2yr contract service plan just to have and use the world’s best phone. So naturally, I started searching for alternative ways around this awful money-pit. Jailbreak + Unlocking the iPhone I first jailbroke my iPhone using Quickpwn, the popular DIY easy jailbreaking application. But I soon found the mac version of Quickpwn doesn’t incorporate the steps to unlock the phone. I instead needed to use iPhonePWN (for mac) to unlock the baseband on my iPhone. Unlocking the baseband enables me to use virtually any GSM enabled SIM card in my iPhone to send & receive calls. The GoPhone® Once my baseband was unlocked, I promptly drove down to the local AT&T store, and bought a $25 Pay-as-you-go GoPhone card (which comes with a new SIM card) and had them port my previous Verizon phone number to the newly acquired GoPhone account. To be safe, before activating my GoPhone account, I downloaded the iPhone app Boss Prefs in order to disable the Edge capabilities of my phone. We don’t want it pulling data down for 1¢/kb and sucking up my $25 card. I popped in the new SIM card, then activated my account and VOILA! Sending & receiving calls on my iPhone with a pay-as-you go card! The one catch – no visual voicemail. That is activated through AT&T’s iPhone only service plans. The Skype Plan In order to take this one step further, I decided to see if my GoPhone - iPhone GoPwn could use the Medianet® service offered to regular GoPhone customers. Hoo boy! Full internet access for $20 per 100mb - not bad. This would never be sufficient for tethering to my laptop, but just enough to browse the web and reap the many benefits of an edge/3g enabled iPhone. SKYPE!! So next I downloaded the newly released Skype app. It works brilliantly! Skype to Skype calls with the iPhone are no problem! There was one catch… Skype app is limited to WIFI networks only. So I downloaded the jailbreak app VOIPover3G and this tricks Skype into thinking the phone is always on WIFI. I bought a Skype number for 9 bucks and an unlimited Skype callilng plan to get inbound and outbound calls to any phone for $3/month. Skype calls on the Edge data network are just fine and use hardly any bandwidth. I also downloaded the jailbreak app Backgrounder so I can keep my Skype app running while the phone is locked & in my pocket. Conclusion That’s my story! I will keep some credit on my GoPhone account for emergencies, or occasional lazy moments, but besides that just a $20 refill for the data plan, with a little extra work using the Skype app, and I save myself a bundle using mobile VOIP! ++Extra Bonus - No contract, I can just stop paying if I need to!
  14. oh its been happening in their minds, they just haven't posted it yet
