Don't judge Ohio on Dayton. I grew up in the surrounding suburbs and I'm not a fan. I like Columbus WAAAAY better. Much more to do, MUCH better downtown and some nice country living without going tooooo far out. I think my next house will be in the far out parts of Gahanna that are a little more country-ish. Have a good amount of land and trees and space between neighbors! Though eventually, I'd like to move to TN

Given that old article about the "carbon footprint" of his "compound", I don't think he really gives a shit about anything he says, he just knows that he's making soooo much money doin it, he'll be as extreme as possible, get as much publicity as possible and rake in the $$. Just like those annoying ass commercials and jingles, they don't care it bugs you because that gets stuck in your head and you remember it whether you want to or not

Update for 10:55 a.m. ET Dec. 10: The Russian Defense Ministry has admitted that a failed missile caused the light show. Oberg said he was initially cautious about assuming that the missile failed because similar exhaust spirals had been seen in the past, but he accepted the official story.

how about hudson hawk? classic IMO

Is it alot? Can you wipe stuff down and tell where it's coming from? It's probably as easy as replacing a hose and totally not worth paying anyone to do, especially in your situation.

the reason for a nonprofit is to help people. if you are offering help to a very broad group of people, then your services will probably be in high demand. how is it their fault that a lot of people want to donate?
-
no one is forcing anyone to use their services. people use their services, and in turn are willing to donate. apparently enough people like, or at least dont mind, things like that "in their face". why should they be punished by making an exception to a tax exemption available to all nonprofit organizations? because they are successful?
-
those huge buildings are used to fit more people, provide more childcare, afterschool activities, host food drives, have marriages, offer counseling, etc. they get bigger for the same reason anyone builds a bigger building - to support their operations better. if people choose to give that much, then so be it. they use it for good causes, not to line their pockets (im sure there are exceptions but there are exceptions to everything). are they supposed to turn down donations?
-
but the rest of the nonprofits aren't taxed. why should churches be the exception?
-
I'm sure there's alot of people that think it would be ridiculous for a gigantic nonprofit motorcycle shop to be built. but if it came about because people donated alot of money to it, it's worth it to someone and they donated the money to make it happen and that's the way it is. apparently there's enough people that want it there.
-
i dont think so (though I'll admit I didn't read all of that ) http://codes.ohio.gov/orc/5709.12
-
you could start a non profit motorcycle repair shop to help less fortunate people and then your business wouldn't be taxed in the same way that a church isn't taxed, no?
-
why aren't churches non-profit? they don't profit soooo.....

I think it says you only have to go 4 or 5 miles
