  1. If you can still get over there today to finish the trim and shoemoulding that would be sweet. Then we can figure out how much more you need and I'll get it. If you have time to get that hole in Sean's door frame that would be sweet and I'll buy and install a door knob! I think I'll hire someone to do the painting outside just so it will be done and we can continue to work on other stuff. Either Thurs, Fri or Sat I can help you move the old closet doors if you have time :D

Thursday I might be able to stop by and have a beer or somethin while youre bartending, I think I'll be skipping the OR bike night...

  2. man i knew that picture reminded me of something!

  3. Ha, you mean your track day thread?

  4. I'll probably put that out there when I have ppl come for estimates.
  5. From what I've seen so far it's totally fixable. I didn't see any oil leaking or frame damage but it was dark and I haven't looked at it since. Needs new shifter, rear brake lever, hand levers, and could use new plastics if you really want to do that. I'm sure you can find used ones cheap. If frame really is damaged, getting it straightened would be the biggest pain of it all, between trying to find a place to do it and cost (no idea how much).
  6. How do they know when it happened? Maybe it happened during that wind storm (I don't remember when that was though, do you?), maybe it happened yesterday because the materials were weakened over time?
  7. Hm, does sound like a good idea. Material and labor of installation may not be much but I don't know what kind of work is involved in removing the old siding and if any additional work is required to prepare the areas for vinyl siding...
  8. I heard alot of that... it couldn't hurt as long as the inspection is free.
  9. Thanks, I replied. I planned on using Sherwin Williams products, as I have throughout the house (mostly because of the discount ). If I understand what you're saying, it was probably stained but that doesn't last so primer & paint is the better and longer lasting way to do it. This Thurs, Fri and Sat I actually will be around the house (it's rare) so hopefully one of those days you can stop by and check it out.
  10. ha well the only vehicle in the garage at the moment is steve's broken bike....
  11. The original trim is a dark brown. He started to paint it in a cream color but made a mess of it while drinking and gave up after he fell off the roof for the third time, so the neighbors say
  12. ha no its just taking way too long and the only way to speed things up are to get more ppl working on it. i know mr. handyman is dicking you with how they run things but im reall anxious to be doooooooone with this, its been way too long

  13. No, the previous owner tried to paint them. You think blue/gray siding (front, side, back), grey trim and white garage doors?
  14. is that a grey trim? doesn't look half bad.... Think the garage doors and trim should be that grey color too?
  15. I really think it was painted, so unless someone that comes and looks at it tells me different, that's what I'll go with.
  16. That's probably what I'd do but I really have no idea about the trim. I don't know about that creamish color that the previous owner started using with the blue/gray color. Maybe someone can photoshop it?
  17. I have no idea if its cedar but I don't think it was stained originally. Definitely looks like it was painted when you get close...
  18. This is an old pic but as many of you know, I bought a foreclosed house at the beginning of the yr. So far, all of the work has been interior and I want to get it painted before winter hits. I'll need trim around the whole house (following the roof, dark brown now) as well as the wood siding on the front and around the windows. It's possible some or all of the wood needs to be treated prior to painting, so if anyone can recommend a place, let me know! At this point, I'm willing to pay a pro to do it at the rate things are moving! Anyway, the point of this thread is to see if anyone has color suggestions and maybe even to find someone willing to photoshop some colors to see what it would look like. You can see the previous owner's poor attempt and painting some of the trim before giving up. View image in gallery This is a picture of the back, just to show the color of the siding that I don't want to replace or paint to keep in mind while considering paint colors for the front. It's a pale blue/gray color. It's not that bad really. View image in gallery I have such a hard time imagining how things would turn out when it's all said and done so hopefully someone can help out...
