My requirements are: stick shift (cuz you gotta know how to drive stick),

4 cylinder (cuz I ain't giving her gas money) and good mechanical condition (no knocking/smoking motors etc.).

Budget: $2500

Prefer Toyota, Honda

I will do you two cyl better and you can keep $2000. Wife wants it out of driveway and needs rear brake lines. I will even give your a $150 discount on top of that. Has new clutch. New crank position sensor.

It is rusty and nasty, but you can trade her on the weekend and get your yourself filthy on the 4wheelers and not even care. Boys wont hit on her because this thing is ugly. As a saftey feature she can only put one other person in it. Will keep the jibbing down to a minimum. Another safety feature is she will probably be scared to crash it for fear she wouldn't survive. Thus making her a better driver.

If you want it to be 4 wheel drive? A guy here at work has all the parts to convert it over. It can be done in a day! (I call bullshit! But you never know what a hill billy can do.)

That's a fine lookin machine and would definitely keep the jibbing to a minimum, except for that big bed on the back.

My son turns 16 in August and that piece of shit truck Anden posted is what he was going to start off in....but if I won't drive it I'm not making him drive it. Far as I care it can roll down the street it and blow up! In winter months it will just quit running for hours then start up. There are no brakes on it. Tires are low. He sold it and then for some stupid reason the husband bought it back. Its going on a year of it sitting unregistered in the drive way. I hate it!

Same situation though, I've been looking and trying to save up for something a little bit more safe for my son. No rush though, the husbands hours seem to have cut back alot and I'm still paying off my bike. That was sold and now buying back. :(

I'm having a hard time motivating my son to want to drive, think he might be scared. When I turned 16 I made my mom get up at 6 am so she could take me to go get permit first thing. Again.... I wanted it, I was always the one sneaking out in my sisters car at age 14.

I just got a 2000 Ford Escort zx2 traded in. It's a five speed, 4 cylinder. I've got photobucket blocked at work, so I cant post pictures, but I can text or email some to you. I'm gonna go find the keys and make sure it's not a total pos mechanically.

Decent looking car, and I'll save you a lot of money over your budget.
