Connie14
Nice find. It would be interesting to see a poll on this topic. I have helmet speakers and still use earplugs to prevent hearing damage from wind noise.

Revelstoker
In the past, I used to put the earbuds into the helmet for long rides on the slab. I would put the buds under the helmet pads and route the wires to the back. Tape it off. Technically, they were not in my ear but I am sure I would get ticketed if the man was looking for something to cite me. Never happened Anymore, I wear ear plugs and music comes from the bike. Medina
Bike is quiet, up to around 50ish behind the screen I can hear myself think, unless vents are open in helmet, its dead quiet- ipod/radio combo for tunes, with dead mute on handle bar above gripIn the past i put ear buds in, or modified headsets cut the foam glued the ear parts in..I feel safer with loud radio and instant mute. Not to mention if one of those buds gets off center, or tipped to the side makes me insane till its fixed.got pulled over 20 years ago in florida, with ear buds in a car, sort of stuck with me, cops got a job to do, and I prefer not to give them a reason
