Tigerpaw
***INTENDED FOR BASE EMPLOYEES**** Sorry for any confusion. Anyone here attending the WPAFB/Base Motorcycle Day on Friday 5/31/13? I will be attending, with 3 friends/coworkers. We will do the mandatory stuff, then do our own ride afterwards. Tentatively, we will meet at the Colonel Glenn Hwy Waffle House @ 0830, before rolling to the museum. Tigerpaw
Sorry. ***INTENDED FOR BASE EMPLOYEES**** I was just trying to reach a few base people, that may be on this site. Just military and base employees. It starts with a mandatory safety brief. Then vendors, lunch, stunt/performance teams. Wraps up with a group parade/ride(that I have no interest in). QuikAccord
So can contractors with a 24/7 base wide pass attend?
Tigerpaw
So can contractors with a 24/7 base wide pass attend? I believe they check for IDs at the briefing, but the rest is just on the Museum grounds, so i guess it is possible I can get better details on Wednesday. Tigerpaw
I asked around, It sounds like anyone can attend the outside portion. This will will have vendors, food, and demo teram starting after 1100. Just go to the AF Museum and hang a left toward all the bikes. smashweights
Why are they having this during a work day? Is the base off that day? I'm a reservist who spends a lot of time on base and want to do this but who gets this day off?
QuikAccord
It's always during the day. Helps keep the crowd down.

Tigerpaw
Yeah but do the military employees ergo have to attend this to ride on base get excused from duties for the day?It is mandatory for base riders to attend the event. It is an authorized alternate duty location. There is a signed letter by the Commander. As far as what you do during the actual ride, I'm not 100% sure. My shop is pretty leniant. We do a small group ride. Safer, IMO.
