magley64
Like the title says, I'm considering geothermal, pros, cons, limitations. What should I know about it before calling professionals and getting quotes?
ReconRat
Last I heard, new geothermal wasn't allowed in Ohio. Maybe that changed (again). Better check first. edit: dunno, maybe that was only in certain counties... Edited September 2, 2014 by ReconRat
madcat6183
It was 15 years ago, don't see why it wouldn't be. Read my post in the other HVAC thread for some info, not going to repost it. LIke I said there, we will be installing it when it comes time and not redoing the current normal HVAC system. And they have plenty of installers listed in Cbus, so I would expect them to up there too. It's awesome for sure.
KennyB
A friend of mine did a geo unit in his house, it's a VERY large ranch with two huge basements. That house is literally like a meat locker in the summer, and toasty warm in winter. His cost is just running the motors to pump the geo-goo down the pipe, through the in-house units, literally pennies compared to regular gas or electric heating or A/C.
