MidgetTodd
Looking to get another quad, anyone have an Outlaw 500 sitting around collecting dust they wanna part with? May consider the 525 if the price is right but prefer the 500.

max power
If he's going to come riding on a Polaris, we better figure out a way to take the toolbox on the trail with us.
MidgetTodd
I've had most every sport quad out there, the 500 outlaw was the best by far. You won't need a tool kit and you'll be shopping for one after riding it. Polaris does not make the drivetrain in the Outlaws.
bowdog
Shit with a Polaris we better just plan on towing a whole tool cart around with us!!
MidgetTodd
I'll remind you guys of this after you ride it and want one.

MidgetTodd
I had a 400ex too, it's was a good beginner quad to learn on
bowdog
My Yamaha Raptor 700FI will drag any Polaris made! but each is their own.
MidgetTodd
Meh, I don't want a quad to drag race. It's for the woods.
max power
And that's why I have the EX. good luck on those golf cart paths with the wide stance of the outlaw.
MidgetTodd
Lol what? They're no wider than most any other sport quad. Actually narrower than the 700 raptor. I've rode them at Wayne and perry for years. I replaced my Z400 with the Outlaw, exact same width.
max power
The ones I've seen must have aftermarket motorcross suspension on them then. Several inches wider than my EX.
MidgetTodd
You've prob got Outlaws and Predators confused. The outlaws are Irs, can't really widen them and they're more a woods machine than motocross. The Predator has a solid axle and could be easily widen. The newer Outlaws had and S model with an axle but I've not seen many of those running around widened.
max power
Yeah, I'm thinking of the full on sport quad. Don't think I've seen the one you're talking about. You don't see many Polaris' on the trail. Their usually at the shop.
MidgetTodd
Still sport quad just IRS instead of solid axle

Gump
Why not a trx700? Polaris is Polaris.
MidgetTodd
The Outlaw is a better machine than the 700xx. Always has been. The XX is also longer, wider, heavier, less durable and less reliable. And not near as fun to ride in tight woods trails. Bunch of haters for ones that have never tried one
r1crusher
Screw all that shit. A friend of my son's bought a '13 Outlander 1000 XTP...HOLY SHIT!!! That thing is absurd as hell but damn it's nice.

Bunch of haters for ones that have never tried one True, I don't think I've ever ridden an outlaw but my 08 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO EFI 2x is a piece of enginerd shit. Mine almost wrecked me tonight when the throttle stuck since I was plowing in the freezing rain yesterday and it has many design flaws. Never had a bikes calipers freeze up because it's cold till this POS. It's just a piece of shit. Pull Off Loser And Repair In Shop. If it's not a Polaris drive train then who's is it and who's motor? MidgetTodd
The 500 is a Fugi the 525 is KTM, both wicked strong and reliable. The KTM just needs more maintiance. 500 has more bottom end the 525 has more top end. The Polaris sport quads are nothing at all like the utility and 4x4 Polaris quads. Gump
O ya, and try and figure out what kind of fluid to use in the front end or tranny, friggin demand drive Polaris fluid and some weird ass tranny/gear fluid no one can figure out what the heck it is and they hose you on the Polaris price. Plastic oil tanks, remote BS filters. Bunch of assholes are Polaris. I hate the thing more and more every time I use it. Sorry, rant over.Good luck with your bike.
