bigd
Hey Harley guys...give me the details here. My bro in law is interested in a street glide for approx 12k or less, doesn't really care what year (but something probably 2000 or newer at least).. Would prefer lowish miles, but doesn't know what to search for, What to avoid, major technology advancements, etc, as far as years and such. Gimme any info you can please!Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk

Tonik
He should find a local dealer with a HOG group, and go hang with them at one of their meetings. Many of those peeps are lifelong Harley folks, they will school him on the in's and out's.
Tpoppa
My only recommendation with a used Harley is to get one as close to mechanically stock as possible. There's a reason they only make about 65 HP from the factory. Air cooled motors can't be built to the tight tolerances of water cooled motors due to the wider range of temperature fluctuation. It's certainly possible to squeeze out more power, but at the cost of reliability and longevity. Even the expensive CVO models are less reliable than the base models.
